Rich Snippets Not Displaying - Price Error?
-
We recently implemented Schema.org/product on our site (www.evo.com). In the Google Webmaster Tools Structured Data report we’re getting lots of errors: http://screencast.com/t/Z3QJBctjUvP which I believe is preventing our rich snippets (price, availability, ratings) from showing in search results.
When I click into the “Product” data type on the Structured Data report I see that there’s 2 errors: missing price and missing best or worst rating: http://screencast.com/t/SuHVYFLFO5D
We are adding the itemprop=“bestRating” code which should take care of the ‘missing best or worst rating’ error.
The missing price error is what I want to ask about. There’s a couple strange things here (using this URL as example : http://www.evo.com/skis/line-sir-francis-bacon.aspx - which has been indexed since the code was added):
1) The Webmaster Tools report is finding the schema.org/offer data type and is recognizing the InStock and OutOfStock property of this: http://screencast.com/t/xtHouzeL37q BUT price is not being detected.
2) When I enter the URL into the Structured Data Testing Tool it does detect price: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?url=http://www.evo.com/skis/line-sir-francis-bacon.aspx
3) When I fetch the page as GoogleBot itemprop=“price”is present: http://screencast.com/t/Hnqda95N
My hunch is that the reason our Rich Snippets are not showing is because of the “price” error. The “?” by the error in WMT says: “This property is missing in the html markup or was not properly highlighted in the Data Highlighter. This can prevent the rich snippet from appearing”
Does anyone have an idea why we’re getting the “price” error – or anything else that could prevent our Rich Snippets from displaying?
Thanks so much!

Hello WillsWales,
I just checked the Si Francis Bacon Skis product URL on Google and see this in the SERPs:
Rating: 4.5 - 2 votes - $649.95 - In stock
I am assuming it was just a delay and that now everything is on-track. Let us know if otherwise.

I've seen quite significant delay before Webmaster Tools and the Structured Data Testing Tool show the same results. I just searched on the URL http://www.evo.com/skis/line-sir-francis-bacon.aspx and for me the price is showing in the rich snippet so if there is still an error showing in Webmaster Tools at this time it can probably be safely ignored.

Hi there! I have been hearing a lot about Rich Snippets lately but I don't really know how they work. Are they a very important factor to consider for SEO? I would love to know your thoughts about this. Thanks!

Schema.org wrong display in SERP
Hi, and happy new year! I tagged our new platform with schema.org: website+application software. There's also "reviews". Those reviews use datepublished microdata. However it seems that this info is used as a date for the page... Search for "logiciel cesar" with Google.fr, and the page is https://www.caplogiciel.com/logiciel/cesar

Here's a screenshot of the result: https://www.evernote.com/l/AN29vPn0PFNJdINZtA9QU6x_tmoq99c8D3A What did I do wrong? I checked other websites which are well displayed on Google and they use the same microdata... Thanks. Best, Benoit.0 -
How do I get rid of my errors for Schema.org?
I put the Schema.org data on my item pages and it works great. However, when an item closes it removes the price. It showed an empty price and that causes an error. The site is now programmed to where if an item closes it removes the price component. This was done about 2 weeks ago and it is still showing a lot of errors. Any ideas?

Google displaying a content box above the listing link for top ranking listing in SERPs
Hi, In the attached Google SERP example the first listing below the paid search ads has a large box with a snippet of content from the relevant page then followed by the standard link. Does anyone know how you get Google to display a box like this in their SERPs? I checked the code on the page and there doesn't appear to be anything special about it such as any schema markup. It uses standard list code. Does this only appear for particular types of content or sites, such as medical content in this case? Is the content more likely to appear for lists? Does it only appear for high authority sites that Google has selected? We have a similar medical information based site and it would be great to try to get Google to display a similar box of content for some of our pages. Thanks. Damien ZmPJVSl.png

SERP display switching between normal meta description and 15+ items
The site, www.myrtlebeach.com has been having an issue with the way it displays in search results for the keyword "Myrtle Beach hotels". It is showing as a bulleted/itemized list similar to what's mentioned in this Moz article I'll begin with a little background. When I started working with the site it would display in SERPs as: Myrtle Beach Hotels - Reviews, Deals, & Photos - MyrtleBeach.com

www.myrtlebeach.com/hotels/
70+ items - Compare Lowest rates & see reviews on Myrtle Beach Hotels

from $27. Located among the south end Myrtle Beach hotels, Holiday Sands ... We did not want the site showing as an itemized list with 70+ items. We wanted it to show with the meta description we provided.
Our first attempt at getting the SERP to display our normal meta description was to simply change the meta description. That didn't work. Our second thought was to use pagination to reduce the number of items on the page. A few days after we implemented pagination we saw our normal meta description displaying in the SERP. Shortly after that we saw the SERP had reverted, but this time was showing 15+ items rather than 70+. This is when began seeing the SERP display change between a normal meta description and 15+ items. In another effort to stop the 15+ items from displaying in SERPs, we added relevant blog content like "Top 10 Oceanfront hotels" and "Best Kid Friendly Hotels" to break up the hotel listings on http://www.myrtlebeach.com/hotels/. Again, our normal meta description displayed in the SERPs for the next few days, but shortly after reverted back to 15+ items. Since then we have been seeing the SERP switch between our normal meta description and 15+ items with no rhyme or reason. Because our listings are not using , I'm not really sure why the site would be displaying this way. Since I have been regularly monitoring the SERP for the keyword "Myrtle Beach hotels", myrtlebeach.com/hotels/ has ranked as high as 5 and as low as 10. I open an Incognito Window and I take screenshots almost daily. I then record how the site was displayed in the SERP and its rank. I also look at organic visits and a Value Per Entry metric I've created. (I looked at Value Per Entry to determine if someone seeing 15+ items was more apt to convert) Average Visits on days with a normal meta description - 182
Average Visits on days with itemized 15+ description - 174 Average Value Per Entry on days with a normal meta description - 131
Average Value Per Entry on days with itemized 15+ description - 120 Average Rank on days with a normal meta description - 7
Average Rank on days with itemized 15+ description - 6 This data shows that performance is better on days when the normal meta description is displayed regardless of rank. I have linked 2 screenshots for reference. The 2-6-14 screenshot shows the SERP display with 15+ items and the 2-7-14 screenshot shows the SERP display with the normal meta description we provided. My questions are:
1. How does Google determine if a site should display in SERPs with an itemized or bulleted list?
2. Is there something else I need to change on myrtlebeach.com/hotels/ to prevent it from displaying in SERPs with 15+ items? m4znToY PRdDXZf0 -
Google is displaying my pages path instead of URLS (Pages name)
Does anyone knows why Google is displaying my pages path instead of the URL in the search results, i discoverd that while am searching using a keyword of mine then i copied the link http://www.smarttouch.me/services-saudi/web-services/web-design and found all related results are the same, could anyone one tell me why is that and is it really differs? or the URL display is more important than the Path display for SEO!

How important is it to fix Server Errors?
I know it is important to fix server errors. We are trying to figure out how important because after our last build we have over 19,646 of them and since google only gives us a 1000 at a time the fastest way to tell them we have fixed them all is to use the api etc which will take time. WE are trying to decide is it more important to fix all these errors right now or focus on other issues and fix these errors when we have time, they are mostly ajax errors. Could this hurt our rankings? Any thoughts would be great!

HTTP Errors in Webmaster Tools
We recently added a 301 redirect from our non-www domain to the www version. As a result, we now have tons of HTTP errors (403s to be exact) in Webmaster Tools. They're all from over a month ago, but they still show up. How can we fix this?
