Joomla Home Page Title Tag Issue

I have got a site that requires to have a custom title tag for its home page (primarily). Its using Joomla 3.3.1. I am not using any SEO components as of now. I have checked the the global configuration, It has Polymer Resources as the site name.
I am also attaching copy of the Menu Manager>Main menu> home
I would like to see the Home Page browser Title to read:
Custom Engineered Plastic Resin | Polymer Resources
But my current settings does not let me change the home page title.
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

PM me the site link. I'll take a look. Yes, you will want to have a very distinct page title for the home page, I thought you were trying to assign a tag to the home page, which would add that into every page, my mistake.
Also, make sure you have your home page menu item and article set to default. Here is an article that may help you:

Thank you for your answer. I have actually tried doing it directly from the menus and it did not solve the issues. As for your question regarding having the title tag for the home page, my understanding is that the title tag is one fo the important tags from ON Page perspective and I want my title tag for the site home page to have that keyword included. Please correct me, if I am wrong.
Do you have any idea about what might be causing it not accept the changes in the menu items?

Do it through the menu items, rather than the main dashboard. Much easier. This will also allow you to add a custom title, and meta for each menu link you have, which will help your rankings if done correctly
If it will not let you over ride the setting, I would install RSSEO, which will allow the page title over ride. Out of curiousity, why is it required that you have that tag attached to the home page? Doesn't really offer you any benefit.

Is there a way to keep your brand name in the title tag even if your title is cut off?
Hi, I've been thinking of placing our brand name in the front of our title tag for brand recognition purposes. While doing research I came across a few sites that seem to have their brand name on every title tag, regardless of whether of not their title tag was too long and getting cut off by Google. Ex: Personalized Cutting Broads & Humidors...-Etsy The title tag for the example above was for a store in Etsy that sells personalized cutting broads, which was what i searched for. Normally a title tag that is too long gets cut off by Google and your brand name no longer shows if you've positioned it at the end of your title tag. Is there a way to get your brand name to show up at the end of every title tag even if your title is long and gets cut off by Google? Obviously, I could just place the brand name at the front of my title tag, but if I wanted something like my example above is that possible? Thanks You

Title tag terminology on website

I own a website (www.maleribasen.dk), which i'm currently making SEO on. The site actually ranks pretty good, top 1-2 on important searches. The title tag on the frontpage (and lots of other pages too) are "Maleribasen.dk - Buy and sell paintings" (translatated from danish - Maleri means painting). I'm thinking of changing the titles to "Buy and sell paintings | Maleribasen.dk" And then try to use the convention "| Maleribasen.dk" on every other title page. Sometimes use "Buy and sell paintings | Maleribasen.dk" as convention when title is too small. Like the overview of articles would be something like "Articles - Buy and sell paintings | Maleribasen.dk" A specific article would be "How to paint using oil painting | Maleribasen.dk" What do you guys think?0 -
Google Results Title Tag HELP
Can anybody tell us why Google changes your title tag in the SERP? If you check out the below link or type in 'days inn', you will see the 2nd result for www.daysinnrc.co.uk just says 'Days Inn' but on the actual site the title tag for this page is 'Days Inn UK | Days Inn | Daysinnrc.co.uk' http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=days+inn&oq=days+inn&gs_l=hp.3...4110.4110.4.4297.1.1.0.0.0.0.0.0..0.0...0.0...1c.1.kWVC24EnCHE&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=7680231318a44bb0&bpcl=35466521&biw=1920&bih=934 This has happened with another site too, does anybody know why? Is reported duplication on the pages or their canonical pages?
There are several sections getting flagged for duplication on one of our sites: http://mysite.com/section-1/?something=X&confirmed=true

http://mysite.com/section-3/?something=X&confirmed=true Each of the above are showing as having duplicates of the other sections. Indeed, these pages are exactly the same (it's just an SMS confirmation page you enter your code in), however, they all have canonical links back to the section (without the query string), i.e. section-1, section-2 and section-3 respectively. These three sections have unique content and aren't flagged up for duplications themselves, so my questions are: Are the pages with the query strings the duplicates, and if so why are the canonical links being ignored? or Are the canonical pages without the query strings the duplicates, and if so why don't they appear as URLs in their own right in the duplicate content report? I am guessing it's the former, but I can't figure out why it would ignore the canonical links. Any ideas? Thanks0 -
Page Title - What is better?
Hi SEO Heads, I have another question if someone would be so kind in answering What page title of the 2 below is better for SEO (i) Chocolate Cake|Chocolate Cake Recipe|Xmas Cake or (ii) Chocolate Cake | Chocolate Cake Recipe | Xmas Cake As you can see (ii) Page Title has a space before and after the | (vertical bar) I know the second page title looks better to human eyes but on some pages I had to forego the space so i could fit my keywords in the page title. is this a good idea? Title Tag suggestions for blog....
Hi Guys. I have been sorting out title tags for a photography site. I have given each page within the website a different title tag but now Im unsure as what I should do with the blog. Blog title tag is currently "Portrait Photographer London | Company Name Blog" This is fine however wordpress combines the homepage title tag with the title of each blog post and imo makes for a long & cumbersome title...such as : "The Obamas Family Portrait | Portrait Photographer London | Company Name Blog" I'm pretty sure I could do better and should do better but Im at a loss, what do you guys think?

Finding unique title tags for each media coverage page
We have multiple pages for our media coverage, and each page has the same title tag. I know it's important to have unique title tags, but if each page is just a listing of your media coverage (page 1 of 9, page 2 of 9, etc) then how do you create unique title tags for each media coverage page?
