Getting listing in Google map results

Hi all
A website i'm current working on isn't showing up in the google map list results on normal search page, anybody know of any reasons this may be?
I've never had any issues previously i just registered on google places but since changes to google business it doesn't seem to be automatic any more.
Currently i have two different other websites showing in these listings for the search term however my client is questioning why they are not showing up here also as they have the same business type related to the search term.

Okay, that's good you've verified and important to know that you only did so this month. So, you are working with a brand new listing that will have to climb the rankings. How high you climb will be based on a combination of factors, including:

The quality and authority of your website

The consistency and number of your citations
-
The number of your Google-based reviews
-
The strength/weakness of your competitors
-
The distance between your business and the physical location of the searcher who is performing the search

Social metrics
-

I cannot overstate the importance of your website in all this. Investing in running the fastest, most user-friendly site with the best content in your industry/geography should be seen as your #1 priority, and then this must be backed up with your off-site efforts such as citation building, review acquisition and social participation.
There is a lot to learn, but there is a ton of free educational information out there. Or, in some cases, local business owners hire Local SEOs to either consult with them to create a strategy or to implement said strategy. You have lots of options, and that's good news:)

Sounds like you are in a very high competition area.
I believe that reviews play a big part in moving up for Google maps listings. Reviews reinforce credibility and trust to users so Google likes showing companies with these first to provide the best results for their searchers.
Also, keep working on verifying other local listings besides Google. The more credible listings you have set up with consistent Name, Address, Phone Number (and website!), the better you'll be off.

Thanks for your reply, yes postcard verified, listing is compliant no errors or referrals from google. verified around 1st December.
I'm trying all three brand, brand /city and keyword - the brand name has keywords in it i.e.
area/keyword
After looking through the paginated list on google maps, i have found my listing at position 61, so it is listed just not on the SE results page within the 7 listed.
How can i improve this position?
How long might it take?

You're getting good feedback from the community Did you postcard verify the listing with Google? If so, when was that? Are you sure the listing is compliant with Google's guidelines (double check, as they recently updated quite significantly) https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177?hl=en
Also, are you doing a brand search, a brand/city search or just a keyword search?

If you Google your Business name you should see something like this: (see attachment)
If you have set up your Google My Business, are using Google Plus and have verified your listing you should see a result in Maps.

Might seem simple, but go to your Google My Business page and make sure that there is a green check mark by your name that says "Verified". If you business is not verified then you will not show in Maps.

Are they completely not showing up at all or just not in the "page one 7 pack" or carousel? (depending on the industry/query).
You may have to wait a bit. To accelerate the process I would work on auditing all local listings for the business to make sure the NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) is consistent across the board. Reviews also might help!

Im assuming you already did the usual submission part and identified the exact coordinates of the place and verified the address.
If so, then you'll have to wait a bit. Sometimes it will take a couple months to show up. Sometimes, it shows up faster.

Local Landing Page Optimization and Multiple GMB Listings
Hello, We’re building out a site for our business that has close to 100 office locations in different cities. Many of these are ‘partner brands’ that we have acquired under our brand. Similar to a franchise model. We want to be able to help users find offices near their location. Each office will have it’s own landing page with a physical address and contact information. We know we’ll have to build out unique copy and markup customized to the office/location. We’ve already read through https://moz.com/blog/overcoming-your-fear-of-local-landing-pages as well. We’re also considering ‘silos’ to build out pages for each location. To preserve authority and avoid cannibalization; our thought was having each location as sub-folders off of our domain (i.e. domain.com/locations/Partner#1/). The other option would be using a sub-domain (i.e. Partner.Domain.com/) which we noticed competitors doing and treating each sub-domain as their own independent site. Is all of the above the correct strategy? Any further suggestions? Should we fill out a separate GMB for each office and should they all use the same brand name? (in other words “BrandA” vs. “BrandA” - Brooklyn Office). In addition to GMB; would each location need local listings created (also all under the same name)? Local Recreational Marijuana Dispensaries Disappearing from Google Maps when Plurals used.
This is the second time I have posted this question and never got a satisfactory result. I have an SEO client in Tacoma Wa and when you type (Dispensaries Near Tacoma they are in the Top 3 snack pack and the Google maps shows 20 other similar businesses. However, when you search (Dispensary Near Tacoma) only 3 or 5 recreational marijuana shops show up and my client disappears. Someone earlier suggested it could be because of the categories selection, but that can't affect ALL the other shops and like I said it happens in other cities. for example Dispensary Near Olympia vs Dispensaries Near Olympia. Has anyone tried using AMP links in Google Business Listings?
We have a client with multiple locations, and Google Business listings for each location. We've also created AMP pages for each of those location landing pages, and they're ranking on page one of their main queries, just below the local pack. We're wondering if anyone has tried pointing a GMB website listing at an AMP page, or if there are considerations to keep in mind before testing it out. So far, we've discussed whether to use the AMP url (amp.domain.com) or the Google viewer url (google.com/amp/s/amp.domain.com), and potential concerns for desktop users.

How can we better control GMB photos on Google SERPs?
Has anyone had luck choosing photos to display on SERPs for their Google My Business profile pages? Recently, Google has been overriding our photo choices and they've picked some terrible, user-submitted photos to show on SERPs. Our clients are understandably upset about this and we've tried flagging photos which works only a small % of the time. When we call Google they say they can luckily remove individual photos, but this isn't too scalable across dozens of clients we work with. How can we have better control over the photos that show on GMB listings? Any suggestions or best practices would be appreciated! Attached is an example of one we have showing on SERPs for a dealer. GMB Listings: No customer actions data for the last week
The medical clinic listings I manage for a client are showing zero customer actions for the last week (since Oct. 9). Visit your website, request directions, calls -- all dropped to zero. Only the View Photos metric is continuing as normal. The same thing has happened to the "Where customers view your business on Google" and numbers from listings on search and on maps. This has happened across multiple (20+ so far that I've checked) listings. Has anybody else seen this?

New design for Googles Local Search results. No more "7 Pack"

since yesterday I see (here in germany) for many keywords, that the local results in Google (the so called "7 Pack") is just a "3 Pack". AND, and this leads to my question, for keywords that suggest Google that you want to rent a vacation home, I see the possibility to enter the dates for arrival and departure (see the pic). But for now, it seems that changeing the dates has no impact on the results. Has anyone a clue, what Google has in mind with these dates? Is the an official Google response I have missed? Multi-Location Listing Best Practices for Home Office, In-the-Field Positions, and Business Centers
Hi fellow Mozzers! Our marketing agency (based near SF) has partnered with 3 individuals in NYC, LA, and Seattle. I would like reflect our expansion on our site and local listings, but want to make sure we're on the up and up, since it's not a traditional brick-and-mortar expansion. Many people have used similar tactics in a black-hat way, so just want to make sure we don't get grouped in there. Is pursuing local listings in advisable in this case? In the Field/Home Offices - What is the best practice for listing a location in the field with home office - but no official B&M office? Business Centers - How does Google treat business centers where we have a part-time presence? (We legitimately use, can receive mail/phone calls, have an office share allocation, and host meetings in their boardroom.) Local Numbers and Addresses - Will a local phone number forwarding to our main HQ work? We'd prefer to filter all of our calls through our HQ since we have the infrastructure there. Other Considerations - Other than setting up our address and phone numbers on our site and major listings, is there anything else that should be top priority or concern? Thanks for your help here! For example, Google has a badge for verified listings. I was wondering if Bing had something similar.
