Google maps, G+ and Google reviews on right hand side of results page:

Hi Guys
Happy Monday!
I have been having a real headache trying to the get that panel on the right hand side of the Google results showing up when my company brand is entered as a search query.
From all the research that I have done, it looks as though you can't have this panel showing unless you serve customers face to face in your place of work. Is this necessarily true?
Our biggest competitor has a very stripped down version of this box which just contains the image from their Google+ page and also a link to their wikipedia page but the point is it shows up when you search for their brand... ours doesn't?
Has anyone else recently configured this to work for their website? Any advice?
Cheers in advance!

Hi Miriam,
Hey thanks a lot, I looked for myself for a good while but couldn't find anything nearly as good as this. Appreciated!
Off to make a Wiki page!
Have a good one!

Hi Jamie!
If you're talking about the Google Local Knowledge Panel, then this post by Mike Blumenthal is the best I know of for working to achieve one http://localu.org/blog/local-knowledge-panel-doesnt-show-google-can/ but if your business isn't local then this type of display wouldn't apply to you.

I tried to implement this for our non-customer facing e-commerce site and failed. Google contacted me and advised that, as we didn't have a 'bricks and mortar' store where customers could purchase goods, we were not permitted to have that info on the right-hand side.

Hey Monica
Thanks for the reply
That's the frustrating thing! We are a verified local business and the My Business account is configured. If you search for "BRAND" it doesn't show but when you search for "BRAND Review" it does show up!
I'll keep looking into it

Those results are directly populated by your Google My Business account. You should make sure your Google Plus is working and you have verified your location with a PIN post card. Once your Google Plus is running and you are on Google Maps, you should start showing up there in branded queries.

We have a branch in Toledo Ohio, which is close to the Michigan border. Cleary we get calls for direction from Michigan customers. However, our phone reporting does not cross the state line. Any ideas? This happens at other branches that cross state lines as well.

Should Every GMB Page Have it's own email address?
Just spent 2.5 hours on the phone with Google. I created dozens of GMB pages for clients using my email address. Now I am discovering that this is not the right way of doing this. Each business owner should create a GMB account with her own email address. Then I can be added as a manager of that GMB account. Question:

Now that I have dozens of GMB accounts under my email account, is it worth it to create a new email address for each client and associate it with the new email address? I think the best thing would be to have each client do it herself, but I'm not sure it's worth the headache of walking each one through it. What do you think?0 -
Review page set up
Hey Gang! So I have a client with multiple locations in different metros. I would like to set up a page in WordPress for each metro that the technician can give to the happy client so they can review us. I would like to have a link to my GMB, Yelp, Yellowpages, and whatever else I can grab. Is there a badass plugin for this or what would you guys do? Much love.

How to obtain url for G+ review?
Hi Mozzers, Is there a way to obtain, easily, the URL for my company's review page on Google+? It's easier to send a link to my customer than to explain how to let a review. Thank you for your help and your time. Regards, Jonathan

Want to use Google Business Pages but Spam Reviews are putting me off
Not sure if I am missing something here...I have phoned and asked Google business how they deal with reviews which are potentially fake and damaging to a business reputation, it seems there is very little a small local business can do about them other than report the review with no guarantee of anyone helping ...Has anyone else had this issue as I would really like to use this service to assist with rankings on google? It is hard to convince (and to be honest I don't want to have to convince!) a local business that this is a good service at the same time as informing them they will more than likely have to spend extra time fending off fake reviews...Not seen any good answers anywhere else, ignoring the reviews, adding more positive reviews or replying/managing reviews are not an option. Hope someone can help with this, thanks

Started using a 3rd Party Review Company for our Website. Do we need to show the reviews or is a widget (badge) with a link back to review company sufficient enough from an SEO ranking point of view?
Hi All, We have started to use a 3rd party review company and now have the choice of either implementing their re-supplied widgets (Java ) on our site showing customer reviews or use their an API to get this information. The widgets (Java) , would be loaded once the page is actually loaded so I am not sure how and if google will read this information if at all? If we use a widget then we won't be able to implement it with Schema.org although we will be able to use rich snippets to it will appear on any PPC (once we have had 30 reviews). If we go down the API route, it's more expensive for us but we can use the review schema.org for this. Does anyone have any experience of what works best for them ?.. We have a choice of having a widget showing latest reviews or just a badge (which is actually a link to the review site showing our reviews). From an SEO point of view, is one better than the other ? Does google actually read the content of the review or is the link back to the 3rd party review company sufficient enough to help with rankings etc. Am I correct in assuming that by linking to a 3rd party review company and showing our reviews on our site , this will help with rankings as even though the content in the reviews doesn't really say much ,. I did see it was a ranking factor on the survey but not sure how google uses this. ? I've read up some information on reviews etc but wondered what the general consensus was with what others found works best for them Any help greatly appreciated Pete
