Splitting Google analytics data
-
Hi Everyone
I'm not sure if this can be done but thought i would ask anyway. One of our clients has a website which is a 3 tiered website, basically this means different access levels for different users depending on their ip address. The split is as follows (business 1, business 2 and the general public all see different things and areas within the website)
Now what we are wanting to do is essentially split our analytics data for each of the 3 different users on the site, Can this be done through Google analytics?
Thanks in advance.
ps If im not clear enough let me know and ill try clear it up

This should normally be possible - you have to create 3 views to which you add a custom filter based on ip address; the analytics site provides an example on how to do this: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1034840?hl=en (the example is for excluding internal traffic - but you can easily change that to include only the traffic from these specific ip addresses). Not sure if this is what you're looking for
You could also use other filters or even a custom field to set up the filter (you can find the full list of available filters on the same link) - so as soon as a customer is identified you pass the custom field to Analytics which can then use it to count the visit to the corresponding view.
Hope this helps.

It sounds like you'd want three different views. One that filters out business IP(s) 1, and business IP(s)2, and is thus "public". The other including only business IP(s) 2 and is thus Business 2, and the third including only business IP(s) 1 and is thus Business 1. This can be done by creating three views, named something like Business 1, Business 2, and Public then applying the applicable filters in the admin panel. Within filters >> Create New >> Name >> Predefined >> Include Only >> traffic from IP adressess >> etc.

I am confuse with google analytic custom and segment report
Hi All, In google analytic when I create custom report for my ecommerce site then figures go mad. I really not able to judge peformance of device, browser and it's version, conversion, ecommerce conversion rate etc. same way if I add secondary dimension in report then also figures are not accurate. Again when I create different segment like desktop, mobile, tablet then in tablet segment mobile devices comes and in mobile device tablet appear why segment also not accurate? Is it because I am using free version? Also do we have alternative of google analytic which give same report like google analytic either device, browser, os, segment, enhance ecommerce etc? Thanks!

Tasks for Google Analytics training
Hi Mozzers, I'm delivering some Google Analytics (Fundamentals level) training, and trying to make it was fun and as interesting as possible... which is quite a challenge when it comes to GA. I was just wondering if you're aware of training tasks, or interactions, I could bring into this kind of training session? The group are particularly interested in user journeys and the effectiveness of content. Thanks!

Google Analytics Real Time Not Working! :(
Hello Everyone, Today, the real time feature in my google analytics stopped working. I am able to see that traffic is visiting my site, but not in real time. The real time count is usually at 0. But, there are some instances where real time will come back online, but there will be only 1 unique visitor. At any given time, our website usually has 20 visitors or so..Has anyone encountered this issue? Where should i start looking for fixes? What are the possible problems? Thanks!

Long story short, two weeks of analytics data are stored on a different profile from the rest of the year's data. Is there a way to export all data from a date range, and then import it to another account? Thanks for your help.

Google Analytics and backlinking
Let say I have my main site and my secondary site that is optimized for a slightly different set of keywords (nonetheless still relevant to my main site). I have several links from a secondary site to my main site. Secondary site is on a different C-block. Do you ladies and gentlemen think that if I put both websites under the same google analytics account, Google is going to penalize me or remove some of the juice that is flowing from secondary site to the main site because it would detect through GA that both sites belong to the same entity?

Setting up Google Analytic Goals to a 3rd Party Site
I recently received help on a question I asked on SEOmoz but need additional clarification. I am trying to set up goals in Google Analytics for people who click on a “purchase botton” which sends them to PayPal. I created a Thank You page and tried to get PayPal to redirect to it, however, our customers only get to our site’s 404 page. Here is what I’ve done so far: Went into my PayPal account and turned the “Auto Return” to ‘on’ Under website payment preferences, I added the following URL http://www.teecycle.org/thank-youutm_nooverride1. (I formatted the URL this way because the person who provided me with help recommended using the format ?UTM_nooverride=1. However, our CMS system won’t allow “?” or “=”)
