Differents TLDs and same contents not a problem Matt Cutts says?
-
Matt Cutts says on this video that you can have the same content on different TLDs and there is no duplicate content for Google. Have someone try this experience?
For example : same content on "mysite.fr" and "mysite.be".
And for the visitors from Belgium, will they see into the SERPs "mysite.be" and for the visitors from France "mysite.fr"?
Thank you for your answer guys.

In Google Webmaster tools, you can set your geo location.

I don't want to have thousand of sites with the same content, it's just that in France and Belgium we speak the same language.
I just want to have one site for one country. So, it's maximum 3 of 4 sites with the same content but I don't want that my belgium's appears in SERPs in France. Is there anyway to do this?
-
Yes. Every press release I put out get's syndicated to 5,000+ websites. Same content... thousands of different TLDs, yet massive backlinks and near instant increase in rankings.
From experience, only the first few dozen sites that quote the source will be put in the primary index. Everyone else will end up in the supplementary index.

Hreflang problem?
Hello, We do have a client with a site in multiple versions (one domain per country). French and Spanish versions work really fine, but the problem comes up with the .com and .co.uk versions. This is my hreflang piece of code: When I go to Google.co.uk and search the exact match domain keyword "how much cost an app", I only find the howmuchcostanapp.com domain (1st or 2nd page) instead of howmuchcostanapp.co.uk. The UK one is not appearing! This is very strange. I have spent a lot of time trying to solve this, but I don't know what else to do. Thanks a lot in advance for your comments and help!

Do I have duplicate content issues to be worried about?
Hey guys, We built a website http://www.cylon.com/ targeting different regions but with the same English langauage (Ireland, England and America). The content for the most part is the same set up on 3 different subfolders. http://www.cylon.com/ - Targeting United States in WMT http://www.cylon.com/ie - Targeting Ireland in WMT http://www.cylon.com/uk - Targeting UK in WMT Do I have duplicate content issues to be worried about? If so, how do I get around this issue? Also is there anyway of finding out if Google have in some way penalised these pages for having the same content on other pages trageting different Countries? I have not received any messages from Google in WMT saying there is duplicate so I'm not sure if this is an issue. Thanks Rob

Freelancer.com: Same Content on Different TLD?
Take a look at freelancer.com and freelancer.in. Both have the same content. I check for rel=canonical and freelancer.in has one to itself. Not to the .com version. Both the sites are indexed in Google as well. Do you think high authority sites like freelancer can get away with duplicate content?

A google ranking problem
HI, Thought I would try SEOMoz out for a while and I am going to dive straight into my initial problem. I have my client moving up nicely in local Google search within my country but the problem is he seems to have actually slipped down a place when I search on google.com/ncr. (and on Rank Tracker) He does sell locally but is a worldwide supplier of his product and wants to obviously rank well everywhere. I understand why he has moved up locally but don't get the shift down internationally. So, 1. If everyone's Google is forcing local search results on everyone, how do you market better internationally. 2. Noticed that his competitors are all getting clever and now using keywords in their URL. Two guys are new on first page Google just because they have Keyworded urls. (killing me). The one guy has one backlink!! (although the client does have a keyworded URL stashed away but we don't want to got that route because we like to keep things 'white hat') The client is happy because when he searches he see's his site moving up nicely but I have a conscience and I am going to have to tell him whats going on. (that his Google is showing local results) I hope that all makes sense. Thanks Mike

Different country, same language
I have read the blog posts by Rand and other community members at YouMoz but i still have a question on trageting and domains / sub-directories usage. Suppose, my business is located in France but my prospects are in US and UK as well. The issue is, they are not English speakers but French. If i use ccTLD, i don't think it will rank well in US and UK. gTLD will not be a good option for prospects in France. What should i do? Regards, Shailendra
