Can I have schema.org links as relative on my site? Getting an html validation error.

I'm getting an html validation error on relative schema.org links

"Bad value //schema.org/Organization for attribute itemtype on element div: The string //schema.org/Organization is not an absolute URL."

This is my code for https site:

I've read all your links and what I understand is an http link to schema.org is best practice. yes?

The error is looking for an absolute URL (including the http or https) so it doesn't look like it'll parse without it there. There's a nice discussion from a year ago at Stack Exchange on this as well, with the conclusion being, "Regarding HTTP vs. HTTPS, see also my answer to a similar (not duplicate) question: I’d recommend to always use the HTTP variant of Schema.org URIs."
