Facebook Connect login preventing traffic source conversion data. Any solutions?
-
We're buying traffic to the website via Adwords, and when they hit the website and go to sign up for an application (enter into our conversion funnel), the session concludes as a bounced session, a new session starts and that session now has a referral from Facebook rather than the original referring source. This means we can't monitor adwords conversions properly (or any other traffic source conversions) this seems to be quite a common problem with Facebook/Google account logins, in the case of Google, people block account.google.com but we can't afford to block Facebook outright as we're wanting to see other Facebook referrals.
Has anyone come across this problem? Any suggestions of how to fix this?

Hey, how did this work? Did you get it to track appropriately?
-
Cool, thanks for the quick response! I will see if that is going to work for us.

There's a take on this at Quora here: http://www.quora.com/How-do-you-track-Facebook-Connect-signup-goals-in-Google-Analytics where the attribute is getting applied via a query string. In his example "redirect_to root_url(:new_facebook_user => resource.new_facebook_user)" 'resource' would be replaced with 'adwords' or whichever attribute you'd like. Cheers!

Will Landing Page Design with Large Areas of White Background Enjoy a Higher Conversion Rate?
My designer has created a landing page with a dark background. Text is white and other colors. Does a dark background impact the conversion rate? Is it better to have a white background? Need Advice on Home page Conversion Rate Improvement - not much $$s
Anyone out there have some suggestions for how I can improve my home page and increase my lousy conversion rate? I've spent years on the content and SEO optimization of my site and very little time on making a home page that sells stuff. Caveat - I don't have the money to go to one of those fancy companies who do a complete makeover and charge in the tens of thousands. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Huge Increase in Search Traffic - Expected Drop in Conversions?
We've recently implemented a successful strategy whereby we've increased non-branded organic search traffic by over 50%. We started with our niche products and secured those rankings and then expanded the program to include local results. Rev is up, trans# is up, but conversion rate dropped. Here is the question...is there an acceptable ratio between the percentage growth in visits and the percentage decrease in conversions?

Actually complete the buy now process - 1% Conversion from organic traffic landing directly on the homepage at http://www.drivingtestnow.co.uk is having a conversion rate of about 5%.
