What is the best way for a UK company to source SEO Support to boost SERPS in USA Google?
-
We are a niche web retailer with a world leading product
and as such are probably the best option for USA customers (even though we are based in the UK)
up to 18 months ago google agreed and placed us high for USA searches and we had good business as a result
however since penguin (or around that time anyways) google increased our SERPS for more local markets (UK and EUROPE)
and decreased our ranks for USA with a consequent reduction in our USA sales
We want to improve rank again in USA (and Canada and Australia and Russia) but need specialist help
What's the best way to source that? (short of someone saying they know exactly how to do that)
ant recommendation most gratefully received

Not answering because I am one of the International SEO listed in the Recommended Companies :D, but for giving you few information about what to consider when thinking about going international:
- As a premise... try to check out if your visibility loss in Google.com was due to Pigeon. That could explain better that your site lost organic traffic in the USA and not in the UK, because Penguin - on the contrary - would have meant a loss in every Google, UK included;
- On the other hand, there could be the case that it's how Google is interpreting your website that can explain the USA loss. Even if you have a .com generic domain name, it may be that your link profile, your IP (British), your same use of the English language, and other "cultural" factor (currency? NAP?), may be telling Google that your real market is the British one more than the USA or Global one.
- You have a .com domain name and (not used) a .co.uk one. Sincerely - but that should be confirmed by a deeper analysis - I would not suggest you to move the british site to the .co.uk and, at the same time, converting the .com to "American" or Global. Surely, that could be an option in the future, especially is the two markets have strong distinctive peculiarities, but in the beginning I would suggest you to opt for the subfolder solution (.com for UK and .com/en-us/ for the USA);
- Remember localization. This can sound obvious, but it is usually overlooked. British English and American English have tiny differences, but Google sees them and looks at them.
- Another thing... if you have a call center, try to have an American phone number (which you will eventually redirect to your main call center number). That is a classic geo-targeting signal, as well currency and, if exist a local office, the address;
- Try to design a promotion strategy which target USA websites and influencers, so to start balancing the link profile and avoiding a dominance of backlinks from UK sites.
- If you do Content Marketing, albeit creating content that is of common interest for both the UK and USA market, try also to create content that can answer to "american" needs. Again, Brits and Americans are different.
Ok... just that.
Ciao!

Hi Tom
Ideally, what you'll want to do (if you don't have this already) is create a version of your site for the US - specific content for different regions and not just the UK. I imagine you have a .co.uk for your website, is that a correct assumption?
You can also check your WMT to see where you are country targeting. Also, keep in mind if you do multiple sites or directories for different regions, you'll need to create WMT profiles for those sites/directories with country tagging, and you will have to look into hreflang tags, as well as language tags for Bing, if you keep content similar.
Lastly, I would look at the following resources:
International SEO (Moz)
The International SEO Checklist (Moz)Those two resources can help guide you. You can also take a look at the Recommended Companies for help if you need a professional! Hope this all helps! Good luck!

The best way to create multi language project?
Hi everyone! I want to create multi language site (main language is English) with community and anothers subdomains. The community will also be in different languages. The site has a single database, only translation is required. What is the best way in terms of seo to create it? I see two options: 1) One language - one domain. What's the better way? The project will have at least 10 language. Thanks in advance for help!

Local SEO: thoughts on driving users to a homepage or to a local landing page?
I work with a client who is about to launch a local landing page for one of their locations. They're worried that the new local landing page will cannibalize some of the keyword rankings for the homepage. Any advice on how to have a local presence but still drive people to the more valuable homepage?

Company sells home appliances and commercial appliances. What is the best way to differentiate the two on our site for the best user experience/SEO?
Should we structure it starting at the homepage with the user selecting for home or for business, that way they have to make a selection before moving further OR should we somehow differentiate in the navigation using the top menu tabs, dropdowns, etc?

Local SEO - Multiple stores on same URL
Hello guys, I'm working on a plan of local SEO for a client that is managing over 50 local stores. At the moment all the stores are sharing the same URL address and wanted to ask if it s better to build unique pages for each of the stores or if it's fine to go with all of them on the same URL. What do you think? What's the best way and why? Thank you in advance.

Local SEO question
Hi I was wondering is there any specific rules for Local SEO for a service company which provides a service in a variety of cities but only has one physical location. For example is it ok to target the other cities in Title Tags or would this be frowned upon? Regards

Listing bundle info on site and on local SEO page.
We just finished a new telecom site, and like all telecom sites (think AT&T, Verizon, Suddenlink, etc.), we allow people to put their location in and find internet and phone service packages (what we call bundles) unique to their area. This page also has contact information for the local sales team and some unique content. However, we're about to start putting up smaller, satellite pages for our local SEO initiative. Of course, these pages will have unique content as well, but it will have some of the same content as what's on the individual bundle page, such as package offerings, NAP, etc. Currently this is the URL structure for the bundles: domain.com/bundles/town-name/ This is what I'm planning for the local SEO pages: domain.com/location/town-name-state/ All local FB pages, Google listings, etc. will like to these location pages, rather than the bundle pages. Is this okay or should I consolidate them into one?

Why My Site is Ranked for Few Hours on Daily Basis in Google SERPs
We have observed Google is shuffling our ranking on daily basis for our website: www.strokesexhibits.com, which is annoying. Almost on daily basis, in evening hours we are in ranking against almost every keyword for few hours (roughly 6-12 hours) but in the morning hours we are back to 50+ to 100+ positions. This is not happening with our domain only but facing same issue with the Google plus pages and few articles which we have on some high authority sites are behaving in same way. For better understanding, please have a look on following stats (Evening Screenshots were recorded yesterday after 8:00 PM, Morning screenshots were recorded after 9.30 AM - GMT +4 Time Zone). all following results are related with google.ae Keyword: Exhibition Stand Evening: 2 Google plus posts are in ranking + One main website page is ranking.
