A website Mobile versions for different languages
-
Hi There!,
A website available in two languages(EN, FR) but mobile version is only available for one languages (EN). Mobile website is designed by following 'Separate URLs' configuration. So all English version desktop URLs are redirected to corresponding mobile version pages.
For example : https://www.sitegeek.com/godaddy
()
is redirect to: https://m.sitegeek.com/godaddy (if page opened in mobile)
()But, same URL is in France language https://fr.sitegeek.com/godaddy is not redirected to https://m.sitegeek.com/godaddy
So what would the correct implementation? France version would be redirected to English mobile version till Fr version is not prepared or it should not be redirected ?

If you don't have a mobile version for the French site I would not automatically redirect to the English version.
I would rather offer users the choice - Continue to the French desktopversion or Go to the mobile version (English). For me it's not as much a question of SEO but more about User experience.
Once the FR version of the mobile site is ready you can do the automatic redirect.
rgds,
Dirk

Google not showing the recent cache info: How to know the last cached version of a page?
Hi, We couldn't able to see the last Google cached version of our homepage after March 29th. Just wondering why this is happening with other websites too. When we make some changes to the website, we will wait to our website indexed and cached, so the changes will have some ranking impact. Now we couldn't able to check if the website got indexed with changes. Is there any other way to check the latest cached version or time of last index? Thanks

What happens when we change redirects to pass linkjuice to different pages from backlinks? Google's stand?
Hi Moz community, We have employed different pages (topics) at same URLs for years. This has brought different backlinks to same page which has led to non relevancy of backlinks. Now we are planning to redirect some URLs which may improve or drop rankings of certain pages. If we roll back the redirects in case of ranking drop, will there be any negative impact from Google? Does Google notice anything about redirect changes beside just passing pagerank from backlinks? Thanks

Redirecting acquired website: DNS or 301?
Hi all, We have taken down some infringing websites and acquired them, so far we made around 40 websites. We are using DNS to land on our website from the acquired. But I've see that recently that DNS is not a redirect and we must 301 redirect from the old site to the new site. Also there is a potential harm in employing DNS method due to the duplicate content that will harm SERP performance severely. Which is the best way? DNS or 301 redirect? Thanks

Desk top rankings differ from mobile rankings
Hi there! We are working on clients site for SEO. We have noticed that our clients 'desk top search results' on Google differ from the 'mobile / tablet search results'. For the desktop - the client is in the top 4 results of page one for Google, but for mobile / tablet results they are at the bottom of page one. We converted the clients site to be responsive 6 months ago. We have been through Google webmaster tools and made all suggested alterations. All programming is to a high standard. Competitors all seem to keep their current rankings - whilst our clients seem to drop. Any suggestions what the issue is would be very much appreciated 🙂 Thanks in advance. Phil. . We re-built their website so that it was responsive. We have been But -

SERP's & Search Engine Differences
Hey, I recently modified my pages to conform more closely to the "A" page rankings for MOZ's on-page report card but saw declines in my keyword rankings. They keywords in question appear in my title tag, description, one image alt tag, either an h1 or h2 tag, and 4 times throughout the text of the document. I don't think MOZ would recommend these changes if it was seen as stuffing - is there any other reason why my rankings might have dropped by 1-4 positions? Also, does anyone know of a good article/book for Yahoo/Bing SEO? My Yahoo & Bing rankings are far below Google's in most cases. Any help would be appreciated! -Michael

Our company is seeking out different avenues. Our company is seeking out new avenues for growth. We are interested in Affiliate Programs and want to know how Google views this. We do not want our SERP to decease and feel it is important to keep any negative implications away from our site and our company. Does anyone have experience in Affiliate Programs and if so did it negatively effect your site? Our company is an e-commerce site that sell aftermarket products for trucks, SUVs, Jeeps, Motorcycles, ATV, and more. Thank you

Good results in Web Search, getting worse in Mobile Search
We are redirecting mobile visotors from http://www.1website.com to http://m.2website.com. 1website position in web SERPS is always the same. But mobile search brings less visitors now, 1website is loosing positions there. I know keywords volume is increasing. What could be the reason? (m.2website mobile version is high quality and have very good bounce, pageviews, time on site)

Why does my Rank Checker result differ to SERPs
Hello SEOmoz members I've got yet another naive question for you. RankChecker is telling me that my client has risen to pg 1 position 7. Whilst SERPs is telling me they are still on position 14. I know that SERPs is variable depending on many factors, but this holds true for separate searches on other computers in various far flung locations. Please give me some insight into what is happening. I'm waiting to open the bubbly! Thanks
