Are Just Discovered Links Reports Working?
-
I can't find my 4 month old site in Open Site Explorer. But as the site has had all of its posts tweeted I checked the Just Discovered Links reports to see if it was mentioned there.
My domain is http://www.genesisclub.training but the problem is that if I target "this root domain" - I get a bunch of links that are nothing to do with my site.
For example the root domain report includes sites linking to
- www.tinmagpie.training
- powerquery.training
- http://videoproduction.training
and more, as sites linking to my root domain. In which universe? The Just Discovered algorithm looks like it isn't coping with the .training TLD. It is treating my domain as if it were genesisclub.training.com so now anything.training is in my root domain.

Thank you. Any idea how long this will take? It can't be all that hard to do, to at least add the ones currently say available on Namecheap to buy?
-
Hi Elizabeth!
As you supposed, this issue is stemming from the fact that our system doesn't include the ".training" TLD. This is a bit of a tricky one because people could theoretically create any TLD imaginable (".cyclops" is one that I've been coveting for a while), but these have to be explicitly defined within our system; there is no catch-all set up to know what is or isn't a TLD unless we specifically declare it within our index. With that being said, I've sent over a request to have it included for the future :). I hope this helps to explain!

Thanks for getting back to me, but I probably didn't explain myself properly. In fact re-reading it I really didn't.
I can find the site in OSE but it says my DA and PA are 1 when I thought it should be a little more than that. So that is one problem and I don't know how to improve it other than to wait.
But there is a second problem which is not to do with my site but with the MOZ software.
I looked in the Just Discovered reports to see if I could find anything there. It looks like they do not take the new TLDS or at least the one I am using into account. They are reporting that I have incoming links that I do not have as they are counting incoming links to other people's sites on a report about my site. I hope that what I am saying is clear.

Hi Elizabeth
How do you mean you can't find your site in OSE? I am finding it. Could you elaborate a bit more?
I put your site through Majestic - it says that you have about 47 backlinks overall, none of which come from the links you listed above.
What I would do is compile backlink data from various sources, including OSE, Majestic, Ahrefs, and Google Webmaster Tools. I would see what links you want to reach out to have removed or disavowed - especially if they are spammy or irrelevant to your site. I would then take advantage of low hanging fruit link building opportunities that are beneficial to your site and business.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

What steps should I follow after submitting disavow link list?
Hey Moz Team, This is Devesh Srivastava, you can call me Dev.

Recently there was an update from your side and that was pretty good. I have analyzed model factors regarding Moz 2.0. Though my DA score has been down to 36 from 52, I would still say that an update was really necessary. I have some questions which require some clarification or you can say a proper solution.
As of now, I have removed all the Spam links which were coming to my website (https://edugorilla.com) and I have submitted the disavow list to GSC but I would like to know how should I begin my link building strategy keep everything in mind. And now that, I have removed those spam links how would Moz or how should I tell Moz or Google that those have been removed so how soon can I get back to my previous DA score? I am very much confused with the link building strategy now. What steps should I follow after submitting a disavow list and would Moz stats will change after Google Disavowing those links? Can anyone answer my question?1 -

Is there an efficient way to use Open Site Explorer to find unnatural or harmful links
We have a new client with 8 sites that we would like to 301 to a new site. However, before doing so we want to make sure that the backlinks are not unnatural or harmful in any way. Using open site explorer (other than just looking at exact anchor text vs brand anchor text ratio) is there a way to determine low quality inbound sites linking in? or any type of links google will find manipulative?
