Taking Great Photographs Underwater
May 25, 2015 By sdwellers@aol.com No comments yet florida keys, key largo diving
Excuse my ignorance, I suspect this is an easy issue...but at the the top of each of my blog posts have what you see above....the "No Comments yet" tab is showing as a broken link 404 error...?Why? And how to fix?Thank you
-
Hey!
I am not familiar with that app so I can't speak to it. I am willing to bet it's an issue with their crawl, because again, I am not seeing anything on my end other than the issues I listed above in my quick scan.
Does Check My Links have anymore documentation to how they crawl 404s? I can't imagine it's any different than other crawlers, but again, not familiar so I can't say either way.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hi there
Yoast is fine for sitemap generation - that's totally cool - I was just saying that usually redirect issues from crawls are because of your internal links, sitemaps, or canonical tags - just something to look into, doesn't mean it's your sitemap.
Let me know if this makes sense!

BTW on 301's... I let Yoast SEO generate sitemaps? Should I still check them somehow?
Thanks a lot for your time.

I am using "Check My Links"...an app...it shows the "No Comments Yet" tab at top of blog post as a 404 error? However, when I clck it it just takes me to comments at bottom of opage..perhaps it is just reading it as 404 and it is not?

Hi there
Where are you seeing this error? I did a ScreamingFrog crawl and I am not seeing that issue. I do, however, see a few 404s...
http://www.seadwellers.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/367679d2+0+277-SD.mp4 (on Key Largo Wrecks have been great lately!)
http://www.seadwellers.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/images.jpg (on Wreck of the Duane in Key Largo)
http://www.seadwellers.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/wreck.tif (on The Wreck of the Duane)I also see quite a few 301s happening - you should check your internal links, sitemap, and canonical tags to make sure all of your URLs are correctly listed.
Let me know where you are seeing that 404 and if the URL http://www.seadwellers.com/taking-great-photographs-underwater/#respond is being returned as the error URL, because I am not seeing it on my end.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Site Wide Links
Howdy Moz! So our agency has been around for long enough to have a few sites we've built that have our credit in their footer resulting in a site wide link. Mostly just our name. We've heard that Google does not particularly like site wide links, should we go through and remove some of these old links?

Hi, All If I have created a (website, logo, email campaign) for a client and written an article about it with screen shots on my website and link to them with a (do-follow) link how does Google see the (do-follow) link? Regards to the sites they have one link in the footer on the home page, which is a (do-follow) back to our site. Also, the websites are not in my Niche.

Too many links on page -- how to fix
We are getting reports that there are too many links on most of the pages in one of the sites we manage. Not just a few too many... 275 (versus <100 that is the target). The entire site is built with a very heavy global navigation, which contains a lot of links -- so while the users don't see all of that, Google does. Short of re-architecting the site, can you suggest ways to provide site navigation that don't violate this rule?

Links to Product pages
Hello all, I am still rather new to SEO and learning a lot every day. I do have a question. On our product search result pages (example http://shop.ferguson.com/search/bathroom-lighting)
On-Page Optimization | | Ferguson
It is currently set up so the image, text, price etc of a product is linking to that product page. Our question is, if we were to link the image and the product name - will this be seen as two links to the same page? Is this a bad thing having multiple links to the same page? I searched around to see how other ecommerce sites have similar pages setup and it seems they link the image and also the product name, and the description is not click-able, which allows a user to "Highlight" the text (this is not possible on ours) Which would be to correct approach for SEO as well as User Interface, the way we have it set up, or by going with the method of the question I asked, Thank you for any information on this! Too many on page links
I'm having trouble interpreting this data. It says several of my blog pages have too many on page links, some as high as 140 and there is no example of a blog post that they are referring to. What am I missing? I never post more than a handful (5-7) in our 600-1000wd blogs. When I drill down, it doesn't give me very much information except "Found over 41 years ago" off to the right. When I click on the "too many on page links" URL, it provides a long list of website pages that are renamed with the blog name. huh? A lot of this stuff isn't very intuitive, SEOMoz.

Internal linking
Background; selling childrens clothing (for norwegian market). main page is being optimized barneklær (children clothing) which is most used term. We ve been online for around 3 months and have gone from unranked to 25th spot on google for this term. We are selling clothes from 8 different producers which all have their own 'page' - were all their products are listed. e.g http://www.epleskrinet.no/dundelina/M_13 . This page i am optimizing for the producer which is dundelina. For this term i show up in spot 24, 25 and 44. My problem is that its not the producer page that show up but the 3 most popular products. The producer page isnt ranked at all. What ive done so far is to have to producer link to my page from their site and blog (a week ago) - they were linking to my home page earlier. Ive put anchor text dundelina --> takes me to producer page on 4 out of 7 products. This was also done about a week ago. I am planning a blog about dundelina pointing to the right URL. From our blog I am using. Ive posted a couple of pictures on facebook pointing to right URL. Do i just need to be patient for this to be picked up or is there anything else i should do ? Thanks ...
