Moz shows duplicate content, but URL's are tagged with campaign tags
-
Crawl diagnostics shows a lot of pages with duplicate content, but when I check the details, I see that it lists the same page but the url contains a campaign tag, so it's not really another page that is serving identical content...
Is there a way to remove these pages out of the Crawl Diagnostics?

Hey Joris,
I'm afraid that we aren't able to see what parameters you are adding to GWT, since we don't use that information in any way to crawl your site. We conduct a proprietary crawl of the site and report on exactly what your source code and server respond with.
Patrick is right that adding the canonical tags to your site (or using the robots.txt file to block the campaign pages) would clear up those errors in our crawler.
Since some dynamic URL generators can cause problems for crawlers, we do try to be overly-inclusive of these issues. We want people to know about potential issues with sites, even if they're not really issues in the scheme of the site owner's specific SEO implementation plan. In sum, we'd rather leave those judgments up to you. I hope this helps explain our thinking here!

Hi there
Well the canonical tag would help Moz understand that this page isn't duplicate, that's why I mentioned that tactic.
As far as Search Console, I was just trying to help get you other angles covered.
I would try canonical tags and see how that goes over on your next report.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Thanks,
I already added the URL parameters in GWT but it's the duplicate content that is appearing in my MOZ reports because of those tags.
No way to exclude them of MOZ? Imagine you have a page that and a lot of tagged links pointing towards that page, it's gonna list all those tagged links in the duplicate content report.

Hi there
Campaign tags don't signal unique content. It's essentially the same concept as...
http://www.example.com
http://example.comBoth are two different URLs but have the same content, thus making it duplicate content, even though it's technically the same page.
What you can do is take a look into your canonical tags and make sure those are upto date and correct. You can also look into categorizing your parameters, letting crawlers know how to handle this content. Both of these resources will help with your duplicate content issue.
Yoast has a great resource as well for common causes and solutions to duplicate content.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Canonical URLs all show trailing slash on main site pages - using Yoast SEO for Wordpress - how to correct
We are using Yoast for a number of our sites. We use naked domain as the canonical. I have noticed in the header tags that all our sites show the canonical URLs as having a trailing slash: Example: http;//foxspizzajc.com, when I look at the source code, it shows the canonical as http;//foxspizzajc.com/ Of course, it is much more likely that all sites that link to us will not use the trailing slash - so preferably we do not want that to be the canonical - among other reasons. Does this need to be fixed so the trailing slash is removed? I cannot see how to do this in Yoast SEO or in Permalinks structure for Wordpress. Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks for any help.

What Are Roger's Super Powers?
I ended up with a box of SEOMOZ swag. (Thanks! As to how this came to pass...I shall draw a veil, as they used to say in Victorian novels.) My upstairs neighbour Max, age 5, enjoys a rich fantasy life and is very much into superheroes and costumes. Naturally, he ended up with a lot of the Roger stickers. Alas, I was unable to answer all of Max's questions. When he asked: "What does Roger do?" I replied: "Roger makes your computer work." Pretty good, I thought. But then Max asked: "What does the antenae do?" I was kind of stumped. Then it got worse. Max asked what Roger's superpowers are and if he could beat Spiderman. I tried to change the subject. Max wasn't impressed. What are the answers? Enquiring five year old minds want to know!

Why can't I change the domain being tracked in my campaign?
Apologies if this has already been answered a million times and/or if I'm posting this in the wrong place... I did look, but couldn't find the answer anywhere... I just realized that all this time I have been tracking www.mydomain.com in my campaign for a long time now, while I should probably have been tracking *.mydomain.com. I wanted to change this, but it looks like I can't. If I have to set up a whole new campaign, with all of the same keywords, competitive sites to track, etc., that will take forever. Why can't I just change it so that my campaign starts tracking *.mydomain.com instead of www.mydomain.com from now on? Thank you!

Domain.com and domain.com/index.html duplicate content in reports even with rewrite on
I have a site that was recently hit by the Google penguin update and dropped a page back. When running the site through seomoz tools, I keep getting duplicate content in the reports for domain.com and domain.com/index.html, even though I have a 301 rewrite condition. When I test the site, domain.com/index.html redirects to domain.com for all directories and root. I don't understand how my index page can still get flagged as duplicate content. I also have a redirect from domain.com to www.domain.com. Is there anything else I need to do or add to my htaccess file? Appreciate any clarification on this.

Does Open Site Explorer violate Google's Terms of service?
According to Google's Webmaster Guidelines: "Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service." Does that mean Open Site Explorer is a violation of those Terms of Service, or is it authorized?

Www. part of url not showing on google search results.
When typing in fun translator into google UK, my website www.funtranslator.com is the 18th result on the 2nd page, however, there is an issue, it only shows funtranslator.com, without the www part, which is not what I want because the whole address to show up, because my campaign on seomoz pro and webmaster tools account is www.funtranslator.com not funtranslator.com. How can I resolve this. For not, I have a redirect that goes from funtranslator to www.funtranslator.com I want to know how to get the full www.url into the results instead of just url.com without the www part of the url. Also, will this affect my stats gathered in my campaign on my seomoz pro account?
