Apache .htaccess query string redirects
-
With regular redirect(s) the following URLs did not work, any ideas for the .htaccess code to make this work?
http://www.domain.com/?view=featured redirect to http://www.domain.com/
http://www.domain.com/contact-us.html?view=message&layout=message&pf=1&redirect_on_success= to http://www.domain.com/contact-us.html
and
http://www.domain.com/login.html?return=aW5kZXgucGhwP29wdGlvbj1jb21fcGhvY2Fkb3dubG9hZCZ2aWV3PWNhdGVnb3J5JmlkPTEyOmNvbWJpbmUtZXZhbHVhdGlvbiZJdGVtaWQ9NzM4 to http://www.domain.com/login.htm
Thanks guys!

Hi Dan,
Thanks for this! I had initially asked and then without getting an answer had to go dig around and figure this out myself. At the end of the day I made it happen!
Thanks for looking through this again. Ill mark it as answered!

Hi Vadim
Did you have any luck with this? I found a few resources that might help (I don't have intimate experience with writing special .htaccess redirects):
-
Hi Vadim,
I am not providing you exact 301 redirect code for above URL but I have found a detailed article posted on this post that might be helpful for you but not very sure.

Hope this helps.
Thanks

Redirect question
Hi Everyone I've tried searching elsewhere in these forums for an answer to this but not having much luck - hope I'm not duplicating content! I get this message in Moz: "We have detected that the domain NappyValleyNet.com redirects to www.nappyvalleynet.com. We do not recommend tracking a redirect URL. Would you like to track www.nappyvalleynet.com for this campaign instead?" Is this a set-up issue on my side? I'm not sure what this means? Thank you!

How long keep 301 redirects?
Our site has been updated twice in the past 6 years with new, better urls. Initially we did 301 redirects 3 years ago for the url redirects. Recently some of those redirected pages have been redirected again. Question: How long before it's time to have the old, original urls removed through Google? And, once that is done, how long to wait before removing the older redirects from the htaccess file? Appreciate any feedback/insights on this matter.

Worth redirecting old blog posts into pages?
I'm working on a site that has some blog posts from 2011 - 2013 ranking on the first page for relevant terms. I'm going through and updating some of the content, internal links, etc., and wanted to know if it's worth redirecting some of these blog posts into new pages (in WordPress). Right now, the blog post URLs are long - exampleURL.com/2011/3/9/blog-post-title/ and the dates show up in the SERPs. I'd like to have the date removed so that the content doesn't look outdated, and I'd also like to have cleaner URLs. In your opinion, is it worth creating new pages and redirecting the old blog posts, or is the benefit of doing this not worth the effort? Thanks!

301 Redirects From a URL without Keyphrases to one With Keyphrases
I have a client that sells services. Each service offered currently has a URL structure like this: www.companyname.com/product/asp$view-id-page3022-item-24 These pages are pretty old, and I would love to have a more user-friendly URL like this: www.companyname.com/product/purple-swatch-watch If I rename the URL and do a 301 redirect, what impact will that have on search? Ideally, this page will be optimized for "purple swatch watch", but the current URL structure is so... well, you know. My apologies if this has been answered before. I tried looking through archived of 301 issues, but lost hope after my first 10 or so attempts at answered didn't help this specific issue.

Losing Page Rank after 301 redirect from http to www
Hi Guys I have site-wide redirected all http// to www and all the category pages lost their page ranks (except home page). I would like to know if this is normal and is it one of the possible causes in losing keyword ranking?

301 redirects / clean urls
hello everyone, we moved our site to a new platform that has url rewrite feature. we are building out a spreadsheet of the old aspx urls and the corresponding page on the new site. my dev tells me that its not important to redirect the old page to the new "clean url" page which sounds a bit odd to me ..example below. okay. so he says its the same difference to 301 redirect this url: http://72.3.181.97/catalog/DesignerDogBeds.aspx to this urls: https://www.k9electronics.com/product.php?productid=3474 instead of this clean url: http://www.k9electronics.com/designer-dog-beds/ can anyone give me any feedback on this? thanks!
