Increasing traffic to site
-
Hi,
One of my clients runs an online magazine that is geared towards the elderly market. She is looking for a continual increase in traffic. Is PPC the best/most effective method to utilize for this or are there good link building opportuntieis in this arena? Would it be a good idea to have her submit some of her articles to article directories as she is an author? -
Hi Cornelius!
Good question, and it looks like Patrick has given you a lot of (awesome and necessary) homework! I just wanted to add that I really wouldn't recommend article directories as a link building/traffic growing tactic. The return has decreased a lot in recent years, and it's generally considered an unnatural tactic.
Patrick gives some good ideas for getting your content out there. I'd also recommend checking out our Beginner's Guide to Link Building.
Good luck!

Hi Cornelius
This will take a bit of research on your end, as well as getting input from your client. Google offers a great feature called the Customer Journey to Online Purchase that helps break down what marketing channels help in different phases of the funnel for different sized businesses in different industries.
I love PPC because it has value not only for getting content in front of your audience quickly, but it has SEO benefits in showing if a page is correctly relating to a targeted query or keyword search, as well what keywords or queries are converting best. But again, it's going to come down to research and learning as much as you can for your client's business.

How To Assign Pricing Based On User Location (Traffic Coming From Adwords)
Hi Mozzers, this may be more of a web development/analytics question than SEO, but hopefully someone has the experience to help me out. My company is currently conducting an Adwords campaign targeting B2B clients for products and services across Canada. Ideally each customer is registered as a client in our system when they make purchases, but this limits our customer base to those willing to create an account with us and wastes our Adwords budget. Now we are moving towards a "walk-up" e-commerce platform which would allow non-members to make purchases without setting up an account first. However, pricing for our products and services differs based on province (different taxes, transportation costs, etc.) and the system currently requires a user to login in using their postal code (zip code) to help the platform generate products, services and pricing specific to their area. This has caused an enormous bounce rate and I am looking for a way to generate said product/service/pricing lists based on some form of automated system which identifies their location and reacts accordingly. In other words, I want our system to recognize where a user is searching from and provide them with the relevant information without them having to input any data (in this case, their postal code). I had thought that using a Google Geolocator API might do the trick, but I'm unsure as to whether it is useful for what I have in mind. Has anyone had this experience before and if so, what solutions did you come up with? Looking forward to any insights and suggestions! Rob

Can you market to someone 30 days AFTER they visit your site via PPC?
Hi all, I'm looking to market to visitors 30 days AFTER they have been to a website. Their is a coupon this business wants to run every 30 days to its' repeat customers (and if they purchase again); thus, 30 days more will resume. I'm aware that your remarketing list can capture audiences from 30, 60, and 90 days past. I'm talking about future display ads running 30 days after visitor has cookies enabled. Thanks for your help! SEMRush Ads Traffic Price VS their PDF report
I am running a report on a website trying to find their advertising budget online (or at least what I can find and have access to). When I type in the URL and look at the overview section it has the "Ads Traffic Price" at around $2,000/mo. But when I do a full PDF report it has the price at over $11,000/mo for Google USA. What am I missing? Doing wrong? Which is accurate? I'm pretty sure they spend quite a bit more than $11,000/mo in general as they were recently bought by Google and are owned by people from Apple. How do I get the mots accurate estimation in general? Or at least on SEMRush?

I want to try some Google PPC ads on other sites but don't know what i'm doing.
We have seen a massive drop in traffic this year and i am contemplation using banner ads to try to increase sales and also to help with marketing. the problem is i know nothing about doing this. I have used it in the past but to limited success and i was just stabbing in the dark. I have a few questions. Am i better to target keywords related to the product or to the people who may buy my products? Is it better for direct sales or brand awareness? What kind of ROI can i expect if i get it working well? Is it better to pay for the big keywords or pic all the low hanging fruit? Does it work? Should i employ an expert, are they worth it? Any insights into the world of PPc would be a massive help.

Optimising 2 ecommerce sites
Hi there I have been optimising an e-commerce site snowsupermarket.co.uk and it's range of products available to B2C customers. I have now been asked to do the same for the B2B site shop.snowbusiness.com which sells the same products but also, many more. My question is, Should i use completely different meta information or choose keywords that are my second choice? Both sites are also on the same IP - would this be a problem with potential duplicate content? Many thanks in advance, Ben

Keyword Traffic - Does this count paid traffic?
I'm looking at keyword rankings, and specifically at the number under "Keyword Traffic" for one of my keywords, which is described as "how many visits this keyword has generated for your website". We run adword campaigns for some of these keywords. I'm wondering if this number is tracking visits from adwords or is this only organic?
