Why this site is not hit by google penguin only experts answer please

Hello I know a site which has the following things and it is not hit by google penguin at all and is ranked on first page first link in google.com.pk
it has 1.3K total backlinks
its has 34 referring domains according to ahrefs
the exact match keyword which is ranked in google.com.pk as first position is used in 1.2 K backlinks
its DA is 18
and PA is 31
its citation flow is 19
trust flow is 13
targeted exact match keyword is present in Title and description also.
Now tell me what is happening here.

My friend, there likely is no answer to this issue, and the responses you've received pretty well cover the possibilities. They've come from folks known to be experts, as well. To get more specific would require testing against the site in question, and for that you'll need to hire a consultant.

wow all of you saying tone and tone and tone. as you all have no exact answer to this issue. any way I think MOZ and Majestic are still in very early stages. As there are plenty of examples I can give which when you all see you will have no answer to it and will say your tone this and your tone that.

You've gotten some good responses so far. I'll add a couple of my thoughts.
There are still LOTS of sites that can get away with spam and not get caught by Penguin. I haven't investigated this site, but it's possible that the links are on a private blog network that Penguin was not able to recognize as a link scheme.
And who knows...perhaps they've got their bad links disavowed. It's also possible that Google is ranking this site because users tend to engage with it.

Typo fixed on penguin vs panda. There have been a lot of Panda updates lately and I have that on my brain. Regardless of the algo mentioned, Google is not perfect and things slip through and they are not all rolled out in all countries at the same time. Just a general FYI.

- http://goo.gl/Twp28T is NOT ranking on page 1 on google.com. (I searched for "web hosting Pakistan" incognito while in the US and it came up on page 2, #12.)
- Google's algorithms are imperfect. http://goo.gl/Twp28T is ranking as well as it does due to known black hat tactics which haven't caught up with it yet.
- If you want to out-do it, be patient, persist and "try and defeat the site on merits. Build up your domain authority."
- You should watch your tone and maybe show some appreciation for those that are volunteering to help you. (Otherwise you'll stop getting suggestions.)
- If you're not getting the answer you want, feel free to hire an expert. Moz does provide a list of recommended companies that provide consulting services.

To be honest, with your 'tone' through here, telling people they are not experts and general manner, I would be surprised if anyone else would want to chip in. If they do, please try to keep this in mind.
Remember, that everyone in here does it for their love of SEO and the MOZ community. Noone (other than MOZ employees) are paid to be on here, so perhaps don't call levels of proficiency in to question, because anyone answering is trying to help.

and I asked for penguin not panda.
and I asked for experts because I am also the same level as you and the other 2 who answered here so all your answers are not logical. So please give any other reason you think it can be. Thanks. and I am not rude I knew its a hard question that why I said experts should answer.

The site is ranking due to spammy links, this is why the site, despite having a "large" number of links has a low DA etc.

Why is it not hit with Penguin (corrected from Panda sorry typo)? While Google is pretty good, it is not perfect. People can still get away with this stuff (sad to say). Also, Google does not roll out all updates to all countries that Google works in at the same time. They have to account for things like differences in languages etc. So, it could be possible that this site would not rank in Google US at this time, but maybe in other countries.

Word of advice. Beggars can't be choosers. Your question qualification of "expert answers only please", could be considered a little rude as most everyone on here is doing this for free and because they want to help other people in the community. If you want expert advice only, then pay for a consultant, otherwise just be appreciative of the nice folks who are willing to chime in and hopefully point you in the right direction.

To be 100% I am not guaranteeing these links are saving the site however links like http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1377228 are related content.
Thus any IT, Hosting type links are related topics. Such type of links maybe outweighing the more obvious spam links. Hope this assists.
I am not sure if anyone can take it further, it is a bit intuition and then a detailed comparison study between other sites on the SERP.

Interesting had a look at the links. Correct pure spam links. Ironically there is a nexus between some of the backlinks sites and the genre of the website pointed to - so I assume that is what is saving the site from a penguin penalty.
The traffic is not great. So tanveerayakhan I am not sure I can answer the question. In summary it is a black hat site with limited traffic ranking well.
I would try and defeat the site on it merits. Build up your domain authority.
Also have you tried contacting the sites where http://pkwebhost.com/ gets the links from? Try and get them deleted. If they are true spam sites - they will do anything for only a little money... a bit cheeky, but it seems you are aggrieved.

Not sure what exactly is a satisfactory answer to him
but as far as results in Google.com they are not always as per the guidelines. Type in “SEO Services” and you will find companies who are ranking on basis of blog comment spam.But they are much better than what I use to see previous year!
I think Google is working hard to make their SERP results pure but they are 100% pure and as per the guidelines is not something I will agree with.
It’s a process and it will take time #iguess

I am in Pakistan and that is why I do check websites in rankings from time to time and I have to say that there are many niches and areas where Google still allow spammy websites especially when it comes to Google.com.pk (maybe because Google give less important in our area).
The best idea is to report this URL to Google to bring this to their attention and may be in the next Google penguin update, this got hit.
In my opinion, there is not much you cannot do other than reporting it to Google.

Yes, the domain is propped up by pure spam. Have you reported it to The Googles? Venting on the forums may feel nice, but it doesn't get anything done.

O come on I know about it, but my question is why its ranking from about 3 years on first page first position. why Google not slapping it. Its a huge surprise for me as there are authority sites below it... amazing...

I'm sure some folks can tell you all about this evil, no good, site. But you kind of have to mention it, one way or another. URL shorteners are a good way to do so.

Strange site link on Google for a Facebook result
A Facebook page targetted to US Hispanics (with content in Spanish and English) is showing me a hindi sitelink underneath the main Facebook link when I google (in the US, English) for the page [ page name facebook]. We don't have any content in hindi, or targetted to that audience. If I click on the sitelink while logged out of facebook, I can see it takes me to a facebook subdomain of hi-in. When I'm logged in it just redirects me to the same page. Any idea why this could be happening?

Problems with US site being prioritized in Google UK
Our US version (.com) of our site is appearing above the UK version (co.uk) when using Google UK. I know Google has been giving US more priority in the UK market over the last couple years... What is protocol for fixing/dealing with this? Also, and probably more importantly, how do we handle users who are looking for the UK site right now? Majority of our users are coming from the US so we don't want to cause them any inconvenience, but the UK users need an easy way to get to the UK version quickly. Input is much appreciated!

Does blocking foreign country IP traffic to site, hurt my SEO / US Google rankings?
I have a website is is only of interest to US visitors. 99% (at least) of Adsense income is from the US. But I'm getting constant attempts by hackers to login to my admin account. I have countermeasures fo combat that and am initiating others. But here's my question: I am considering not allowing any non US, or at least any non-North American, traffic to the site via a Wordpress plugin that does this. I know it will not affect my business negatively, directly. However, are there any ramifications of the Google bots of these blocked countries not being able to access my site? Does it affect the rankings of my site in the US Google searches. At the very least I could block China, Russia and some eastern European countries.

Dropped from Google?
My website www.weddingphotojournalist.co.uk appears to have been penalised by Google. I ranked fairly well for a number of venue related searches from my blog posts. Generally I'd find myself somewhere on page one or towards the top of page two. However recently I found I am nowhere to be seen for these venue searches. I still appear if I search for my name, business name and keywords in my domain name. A quick check of Yahoo and I found I am ranking very well, it is only Google who seem to have dropped me. I looked at Google webmaster tools and there are no messages or clues as to what has happened. However it does show my traffic dropping off a cliff edge on the 19th July from 850 impressions to around 60 to 70 per day. I haven't made any changes to my website recently and hadn't added any new content in July. I haven't added any new inbound links either, a search for inbound links does not show anything suspicious. Can anyone shed any light on why this might happen?

Homepage not ranking in Google AU, but ranking in Google UK?
Hey everyone, My homepage has not been ranking for it's primary keyword in Google Australia for many months now. Yesterday when I was using a UK Proxy and searching via Google UK I found my homepage/primary keyword ranked on page 8 in the UK. Now in Australia my website ranks on page 6 but it's for other pages on my website (and it always changes from different page to page). Previously my page was popping up at the bottom of page 1 and page 2. I've been trying many things and waiting weeks to see if it had any impact for over 4 months but I'm pretty lost for ideas now. Especially after what I saw yesterday in Google UK. I'd be very grateful if someone has had the same experience of suggestions and what I should try doing. I did a small audit on my page and because the site is focused on one product and features the primary keyword I took steps to try and fix the issue. I did the following: I noticed the developer had added H1 tags to many places on the homepage so I removed them all to make sure I wasn't getting an over optimization penalty. Cleaned up some of my links because I was not sure if this was the issue (I've never had a warning within Google webmaster tools) Changed the title tags/h tags on secondary pages not to feature the primary keyword as much Made some pages 'noindex' to try and see if this would take away the emphases on the secondary pages Resubmitted by XML sitemaps to Google Just recently claimed a local listings place in Google (still need to verify) and fixed up citations of my address/phone numbers etc (However it's not a local business - sells Australia wide) Added some new backlinks from AU sites (only a handful though) The only other option I can think of is to replace the name of the product on secondary pages to a different appreciation to make sure that the keyword isn't featured there. Some other notes on the site: When site do a 'site:url' search my homepage comes up at the top The site sometimes ranked for a secondary keyword on the front page in specific locations in Australia (but goes to a localised City page). I've noindexed these as a test to see if something with localisation is messing it around. I do have links from AU but I do have links from .com and wherever else. Any tips, advice, would be fantastic. Thanks

Was my site hit by Panda or Penguin? Looking for diagnosis help
My URL is: www.westlakedermatology.com Hello Mozers, I'm looking for some help or guidance as to why my site fell off the "rankings cliff" on 9/5. In the forums I hear a lot of others with a similar issue, and some speculation it is due to a Panda refresh. However, looking at our site we have unique content with each page having over 300-400 words (so it's not light or duplicate content). We get a lot of leads that verbally tell us our content helped answer some of their questions so I'm pretty confident its good for users. Can anyone see an issue with the content on our site? In terms of Penguin, I think our backlink profile is clean, our physicians do take part in providing content to various high quality and relevant websites/blogs. But we do not buy links or do anything in violation of Google's guidelines. In terms of brand, we are the biggest dermatology and plastic surgery group in the Austin area. So any brand implications to search should be on our side. Just looking for some sort of guidance or help, any suggestions would be great! Thanks,

Following Penguin 2.0 hit in May, my site experienced another big drop on August 13th
Hi everyone, my website experienced a 30% drop in organic traffic following the Penguin 2.0 update in May. This was the first significant drop that the site has experienced since 2007, and I was initially concerned that the new website design I released in March was partly to blame. On further investigation, many spammy sites were found to be linking to my website, and I immediately contacted the sites, asked for the removal of the sites, before submitting a disavow file to Google. At the same time, I've had some great content written for my website over the last few months, which has attracted over 100 backlinks from some great websites, as well as lots of social media interaction. So, while I realise my site still needs a lot of work, I do believe I'm trying my best to do things in the correct manner. However, on August 11th, I received a message in Google WMTs : Googlebot found an extremely high number of URLs on your site I studied the table of internal links in WMTs and found that Google has been crawling many URLs throughout my site that I didn't necessarily intend it to find i.e. lots of URLs with filtering and sorting parameters added. As a result, many of my pages are showing in WMTs as having over 300,000 internal links!! I immediately tried to rectify this issue, updating the parameters section in WMTs to tell Google to ignore many of the URLs it comes across that have these filtering parameters attached. In addition, since my access logs were showing that Googlebot was frequently crawling all the URLs with parameters, I also added some Disallow entries to robots.txt to tell Google and the other spiders to ignore many of these URLs. So, I now feel that if Google crawls my site, it will not get bogged down in hundreds of thousands of identical pages and just see those URLs that are important to my business. However, two days later, on August 13th, my site experienced a further huge drop, so its now dropped by about 60-70% of what I would expect at this time of the year! (there is no sign of any manual webspam actions) My question is - do you think the solutions I've put in place over the last week could be to blame for the sudden drop, or do you think I'm taking the correct approach, and that the recent drop is probably due to Google getting bogged down in the crawling process. I'm not aware of any subsequent Penguin updates in recent days, so I'm guessing that this issue is somehow due to the internal structure of my new design. I don't know whether to roll back my recent changes or just sit tight and hope that it sorts itself out over the next few weeks when Google has more time to do a full crawl and observe the changes I've made. This site got hit but why..?
I am currently looking at taking on a small project website which was recently hit but we are really at a loss as to why so I wanted to open this up to the floor and see if anyone else had some thoughts or theories to add. The site is Howtotradecommodities.co.uk and the site appeared to be hit by Penguin because sure enough it drops from several hundred visitors a day to less than 50. Nothing was changed about the website, and looking at the Analytics it bumbled along at a less than 50 visitors a day. On June 25th when Panda 3.8 hit, the site saw traffic increase to between 80-100 visitors a day and steadily increases almost to pre-penguin levels. I know these aren't "get out of jail free cards" but the rest of the profile isn't that bad either. Normally you can look at a link profile and say "Yep, this link and that link are a bit questionable" but beyond some slightly off-topic guest blogging done a while back before I was looking to get involved in the project there really isn't anything all that fruity about the links in my opinion. I know that the site design needs some work but the content is of a high standard and it covers its topic (commodities) in a very comprehensive and authoritative way. In my opinion, (I'm not biased yet because it isn't my site) this site genuinely deserves to rank. As far as I know, this site has received no unnatural link warnings. I am hoping this is just a case of us having looked at this for too long and it will be a couple of obvious/glaring fixes to someone with a fresh pair of eyes. Does anyone have any insights into what the solution might be? [UPDATE] after responses from a few folks I decided to update the thread with progress I made on investigating the situation. After plugging the domain into Open Site Explorer I can see quite a few links that didn't show up in Link Research Tools (which is odd as I thought LRT was powered by mozscape but anyway... shows the need for multiple tools). It does seem like someone in the past has been a little trigger happy with building links to some of the inner pages.0
