How do you go about sharing and marketing your articles to get exposure?
-
Hey Guys,
So I have heard about this thing called blogger outreach lately, but I was wondering, what was the point of creating good quality content, if the content can no be found?
Is there some sort of way that we would need to go about making the content seen? Sorry about the ignorance around this stuff, I'm completely stuck for how to market our content. I have read through the backlink guide by moz I have also read other articles about blogger outreach.
Any advice would be great. Is there some sort of approach that anyone else uses that could shed a bit of light for me.
Thanks

Take a look at what some of your top competitors or successful related companies are doing to get some ideas. Look for evidence that their audience appreciates it.

Hi Donna,
Yes for sure, I'm trying to get my content heard or out there! I spend a lot of time working on unique and quality content that is above my competitors, we are a new site so I'm looking for ways to build up our backlink profile, domain authority and overall ranking position.
I see a few things to consider after google search for content promotion, just not too sure what is the right way to go about it or which angle to approach it from.

Hi Umar,
Wow thank you so much, I found a few interesting things using these tools! Awesome thanks so much! Is there anyone in particular that you would recommend using above all 3?
How do you go about building trust with them via social media? Is this something that they would pay attention to?
-
Hi Edward,
It sounds like you're looking for content promotion ideas of which blogger outreach is one option. Try doing a Google search for "content promotion" to find ways to increase your content's visibility and exposure.

Hello Edward,
I'm glad my response answered your question.
So for finding influencers, bloggers or people who are sharing about your industry you can utilize these three super awesome tools,
- BuzzSumo (Influencer section)
- Followerwonk
- Topsy
These tools will gives you the information about their social accounts. All you have to do is to follow them and start interacting. Don't pitch you content in first place, try to build some trust and then ask for the email details.
For the PR, I think it's not a good idea to issue press release for every new content you publish. But yes, if it is something very exceptional, you can consider.

Hi Umar,
Wow, thank you so much for answering my question in very much a way I can understand. I like your analogy, I appreciate this.
So moving forward from here, the concept you mention about "outreaching" to people, influencers and bloggers, I think i understand this, but how would you suggest about finding influencers, bloggers etc in your industry. for eg: I'm in the Psychic Industry, majority of my competitors won't be interested, but i have identified a few other popular blogs such as Tiny Buddha, but my question would be, is there a specific way process I would go about reaching out to them?
Also, what is your view on Press Release to try to get some exposure?
Thank you again for your help

Hey Edward,
I wouldn't call it your ignorance, it's a very good question indeed.
Blogging outreach is one of the technique of content marketing. Imagine this scenario, after spending days you finally produce something very exceptional that no one has written about and you published it with full of excitement hoping to get the appreciation and shares. But, it's all wasted because no one knows about you and didn't notice your tweet.
Most of the time, you cannot be able to create that "ideal traction" either because your brand is new, your social following is low and no one noticed that you shared something mind-blowing or only your employees and friends are in your mailing list.
This is where the concept of "Outreaching" applies i.e. to get the list of people, influencers and bloggers to let them aware of your content by emailing them, pitching them on social media etc.
The whole purpose of this practice is to increase the reach of your content so that people started to recognise you.
Hope this helps!
Umar

LinkedIn & B2B Marketing/Brand Authority: How Useful Is It?
Hi Folks, I'm in the process of drawing up some detailed step by step marketing and content strategy guidelines and I'm currently researching LinkedIn as a platform and the potential benefits for B2B marketing on it and building brand authority. I'm coming across some conflicting data regarding how useful it is. Does anyone have any experience or opinions on the viability of LinkedIn for B2B marketing and building brand authority? A couple of questions would be: Is it a viable B2B marketing platform? Is it a good place to build brand and industry authority? What techniques would you concentrate on over others? Any advice on the subject would be great. Thanks, folks. Regards Gareth

How to market a brand when the brand name is constantly changing?
I work in an industry where companies are often being bought up by other larger companies. When this happens, there is often a change in the company name to incorporate the parent company name as well. My company is a distributor of these products and I'm wondering if there are best practices for marketing both the original brand name and the new brand name for the same product? We're trying to avoid any duplicate product detail pages, so dynamically generating the same page for two different names is not ideal. Anyone have any tips? Thanks!

Giveaway ideas for contest from a Internet Marketing Company
So I have been toying with the idea of creating a twitter / Facebook / Google + Giveaway. Users will just have to like/follow to enter and a random person will be drawing to win the prize. Seems like a solid and easy way to gain followers and such. My main concern is lets say I go the straight up "cash" route and giveaway $250 to the winner. While anyone would love to have a free $250 and I may get a lot of likes and followers, I’m sure most of them would not be interested in my company or services. They just want a free $250 (who wouldn’t). I’m been trying to think of other things to giveaway that people would still love to get but attract more people that would be interested in my services, any ideas? I was thinking maybe the winner could get free SEO for their website for 3-6 months or something like that. Something that people might actually want.

Guest Posts/Blogs/Articles Link Building
Is it me or are the usual places you used to go for to find quality blogs to guest post to seem to be full of low quality spammy blogs. And doing a search brings up loads of poor quality sites/blogs too. I was thinking of creating a high quality content site for link bait. Any suggestions on "refreshing" a tired link strategy. Where do you find your guest blog/posts?

What is best way of using facebook share
I recently launched a scrollable web comic at www.shoutout.co.in. In space of 2 days after launch, i got more than 100 likes. While this is great number, i am not sure if this is best usage of options provided by facebook. Which option is best share/like/share-with-comment option? Currently i only have "like" implementation. Is this giving less probability of visibility to friends than "share-with-comment" option? stats and numbers from your experience/campaigns will help.

Does a +1 or Share appear in SERPs site-wide, or only for the page that is specifically shared?
Take the example Danny Sullivan posted: http://searchengineland.com/how-being-friends-on-google-leads-to-better-rankings-87376 In this case, Ford shared www.ford.com, and its friends and followers see that in the SERPs. Hoever, how does that compare with, say, sharing http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/? Does the entire domain reap the benefit, or just that page? Would people see a "Ford shared this" beneath a search result pointing to ford.com (the home page), even if Ford had only shared this specific interior page? Or is it too soon to know for sure how this is all going to work?
