Woocommerce ULRs & SEO

My company is in the process of converting from a .net site to a wordpress site using Woocommerce. We are #1 in Google SEO ranking and have spent a lot of time getting to this point. My currents URL is /smithco.com/rotating-widgetsbecause of the way wordpress works - I'm going to have /product/ in the URL in the new siteThew new URL will be/smithco.com/product/rotating-widgetsShould I be worried about this ?thanks in advance

Well, you’re definitely going to lose your rankings if URLs are changed. Luckily, there’s such thing as 301 SEO redirects that let Google know your pages are being permanently moved to another addresses. As the result, your SEO rankings won’t be affected, even though URL structures will be altered (in your case by adding /product/ part).

This plugin (http://litextension.com/seo-urls-migrations-plugins/woocommerce-seo-urls-plugin.html) perhaps helps to keep seo urls after converting from old cart to new site.

There's nothing to worry about in regards to having /product/ in the new URLs. However (with any site upgrade) you need to be sure to individually 301 redirect all the old pages to the matching new pages. Do you have a plan in place for that?

Q& A section - SEO perspective
We have a software in our website where customers can ask questions and it will send questions to people who already bought it to get answers. The answers are there in each item page. So each item page has item description , reviews, and Q&A sections. We get lot of questions and answers and software is great but we don't know if it really is helping us for the huge price we are paying them. Best start for int'l SEO?
Hi all We're soon going to begin our international SEO efforts, and I wanted to get some opinions on laying the foundation first. I'm aware of the best, most ideal practices (getting a proper translator, ccTLDs vs subdomains vs folders, etc.) and wanted to know if this would be a good first step: Creating folders by language/country code (does it matter which?) that will have unique copy on the respective page, and targeting those pages to the corresponding country via Google WMT. The nature of our website would require a massive, coordinated effort to translate all of the content, so I was thinking about starting with the homepage for each country and going from there. Is the risk of duplicate content for every new folder too high to chance not translating EVERY bit of content? Thanks for any help or advice!

A good SEO praxis?
Hi all, having a worpress site with 10 DIFFERENT pages (each with its own different content) and consequently 10 DIFFERENT keywords to optimize......Can somehow Google penalize me for having such a number of different keyowrds? I guess sometimes there no way to avoid it. It depends on the content of each page. You'll need a keyword to optimize them (if you consider they are relevant enough). Thanks.

Disclaimer in footer - is it affecting my SEO?
For legal reasons I am required to include a 266 word disclaimer in the footer of every page of my credit card comparison site creditcards.com.au. My question is in 2 parts: is this indexable content likely to be hurting my SEO? if so, what is the best way to include the text in the footer but prevent search engines from indexing it? Thanks.

Change 10yrs old home title tag seo safe?
Howdy everyone! Wish you the best for 2012! We have a client who is ranked #1 for keyword "blue widgets". Their site's homepage title has the keyword "blue widgets" in it and has been the same for 10yrs+. Recently they have added other types of widgets to their offering. Is it safe to change their title by adding more keywords to it? For example: "blue widgets | green widgets | brand x widgets". May our client lose their ranking if we change their title? Re SEO, Is it better to have a mega menu or one split into categories?
Hi From an SEO perspective is it better to have 1 large listed menu - over 100 internal links - or say a much smaller menu split into say 10 categories - so 10 links.

This menu would be appearing on nearly all pages but not the home page In terms of the user experience, in my case, I have a feeling having 1 large menu is possibly preferable as it reduces the number of clicks the user makes to get to the desired information and categorisation can be a bit subjective, but i'd like some advice from an SEO perspective. Will a Media Wiki guides section affect my sites SEO?
Hello, I currently run a Wordpress site that has a large guides section. I've reached the point where a lot of the larget guides need to be split into smaller posts which then link to each other. As we all know, long guides are not always user friendly. I've taken this oppurtunity to revamp the guides section and I am considering using Media Wiki to turn the Wordpress posts in to a full Wiki Knowledge Base. However this raises some questions for me.. 1. Will doing this impact my sites SEO? 2. Does Media Wiki use internal nofollow links? 3. Are there dangers of duplicate content? 4. Do you have any experience using Media Wiki, and what are your thoughts? I'd appreciate your views on this problem. Thanks Joe
