Will posting an article from my website to LinkedIn mean its duplicate content?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently writing my first blog post for my new business, and initially it was intended to be written for my website and then have it shared as a link via Social Media. However, I notice now that LinkedIn allow you to post self written articles to it's website directly and that these are then linked to your profile.
My question is if I write my blog post as intended, and then publish it separately to LinkedIn, will search engines see this and think I am duplicating content? If so, roughly how much of the content would I have to change in order to avoid this?

Thank you for your answer. You make complete sense. There is the risk it ranks higher than the actual blog post, but I think as long as it links to the original location I should be fine.

No, I don't believe so. I do this all of the time! I even include a link at the bottom that says "This article was originally posted on ______.com". That way, if users want to see the actual article they can click through, and I am giving the original site credit. The reason I do this is because my network on LinkedIn are usually people in my field, so my audience is there.
There's a HubSpot article if you would like to read more. The issue there being that your content on LinkedIn could potentially outrank your content on your site. My idea of posting a link to the original content still stands that if the link is there, it can attract people to your original post/site - especially if you are putting out content that is relevant and useful to your network.

Quick Start SEO Tasks for Brand New Multi Regional Website
Hello All Webmasters, I have questions on organic visits for my fresh website targeted in Australia. I am a webmaster of http://www.canvaschamp.com.au/ and we have launched this domain before 20 days around on the date 7th Aug 2014. (Right now didn't get any organic visit) Which Link building activities still works to get maximum organic visits and how can i improve my social media performance? Should i keep my link building activities limited to .com.au websites or can i promote globally?? Linkedin question
Hello Mozzers, In April we split our company in two, creating a new company in the process. We updated our Linkedin company page with the new branding etc, but I can't find anywhere we can change the url, which is still the old company trading style name. I've sent a support ticket to Linkedin, but I don't expect an answer all that fast so was wondering if any of you had experience with this problem and could point me in the right direction? How Can I do SEO for a Escorts Website?
So here comes the hard part of working with SEO.... I've been doing SEO for a quite long time now and as far as I concern, it has been working and that's why I can tell people I'm a SEO Manager! It was all good until 3/4 months ago when I got this client that wanted me to do SEO for his Escort Agency. I've analysed his website and came across some structure error, poor linking and so on... I've started by reformulating his website, re-structuring his urls, keeping good pages and throwing alway the poor content ones, requested some website owners to remove links to that website and so on.... All good and sorted, but when it came to do the off-page optimisation it became a nightmare! It's pretty easy to get links for a clothing website or any other (not "obscure") kind of websites, but no serious and authority websites would link to an escort agency; It's also very easy to create something funny and nice and post it on a page of your website to get people sharing and liking on facebook, but again very hard to get people to share and like things posted by an escort agency... You can't really advertise on escorts directories and use keywords on the ad because godfather google would penalize you.... I really don't know what to do anymore, so I will list some questions and if guys SEO experts could help me out, I would be so grateful!!! How can I get people linking to the website without paying for it? How can I get good authority links to this kind of website? How can I advertise on paid directories without being penalised by google? How can i get shares and likes on social network websites? The website has about 3000 pages, been online since 2010, have at least 3 lengthy articles posted a day! Please guys help me out with this case that is making me loose my nights of sleep... SEO For New Website
Hello Mozzers, I've recently (2 weeks ago) launched a website with a brand new domain for a client. I know I can't expect instant results but I'd like to know I've done all I can to get the best results as fast as possible. I've done the following already: It's a WordPress driven website so the site is very SEO friendly Submitted the sitemap.xml to Google Listed the site on Bing Sorted out the canonical issue Got keyword rich URLs Meta tags are in Site structure is heavily optimized with H1, H2 tags, etc. used appropriately Set up a Google Places listing Made sure all images and links are semantically optimized Copy can be improved but is pretty keyword rich However the client is not using Social Media at all and there's no link building strategy in place. Will this undermine the rankings a lot? What else can I do to get the client better results, faster? Any help will be much appreciated. Best regards, Rex (SEO Noob)
