WMT Fetch as Google
-
Is there any benefits in using 'Fetch as Google' in WMT and then submitting for indexing?
I have a page which I'm trying to get to rank so far with no luck is it likely to help or could it hinder?
Please speak from experience not hearsay
Many Thanks

Hi,
Internal linking can be a fantastic way to build internal page authority and to give more emphasis to particular pages.
In a simple way, here is how it works...
-- Create amazing article related to the page you are trying to rank for
-- High up in the copy, create a target anchor text that leads to the page you are trying to boost. Make the anchor text the same / very similar to your desired phrase - but make sure it makes sense.Have a read of this article over at eConsultancy. This goes through it in a lot more detail and will show you exactly what you need to be doing.
I personally have had some astounding successes with this. The article you create should be better than the norm though. You want something that will get shared socially and hopefully, result in some backlinks too.

don't under estimate the power of social, local & video!

Apart from link acquisition any other ideas on how to build authority?
-
Always helps, as smart as Google is at a basic level it still uses links as a measurement, for now at least.
-
Thanks for your input - Interesting, Have batted it round social media a couple of times and just done a "site:" search and is indexed.
So must be an authority issue, the page has been round a few weeks and I'm fairly confident the pages in reasonable shape.
Maybe start a bit of quality link building?

Getting a page to rank is not the same as getting a page to be indexed
Fetching as Google will not increase your rankings for anything it will just indicate any errors in the page that Google with have crawling it.
You can do a quick Google search to see if the page in question is not being indexed by using the search term - "site:yourdomain.com/page.html" if it doesn't show up in the results then it is not being indexed.
If it is a new page it might take a while to appear in organic search.

They do the same thing so there is no difference in that sense, Fetch as Google is helpful that it will show you can errors or blocked resources. submitting for Google is not the sole way to rank a page and really its only the very start. A third option is you can submit your site though social media and let it be found this way, it can be helpful because its a bit more organic.

How google treats my two different domains with the same content ?
I have two internet stores for two different markets but in the same language (English), the same content and the same url (only domains different). They are in different servers one in USA another in UK. Example: sample.com (global) and sample.uk (for UK).
On-Page Optimization | | VaidasLinen
Currently sample.com (7 years old) is doing better but not very very well, sample.uk (2 years old) is rated poorly. My question is if it's possible that google will rank both stores well in the future ? Thanks Vaidas0 -
Website Titles in Google
I currently have a Wordpress platform website and previously I noticed that when I optimized my pages, if I indicated what I wanted my page names to be (through an application like SEO Yoast) that most times, the keyword would show up exactly how I had it typed in. Recently I have noticed that the title of my website is showing in my page titles too. So for example: Before: Shoe Stores Windsor - XYZ Company Now: XYZ Company | Shoe Stores Windsor - XYZ Company In SEO practices, I know it's most often best to have the keyword you would like as close to the front of your title tag, but now this recent search adds my website title first. Plus this also seems to be making my titles longer. I know Google ultimately has the 'final say' in a page title and I have ensured that I have the "rewrite titles/descriptions option" check in Wordpress to allow me to overwrite titles, but I am hoping someone can possibly provide me with a tip or trick to avoid this in search rankings. I think it's important to have the name of my site entered through Wordpress so that any pages that I have no optimized default to the page name and site name, but the ones I have optimized seem to be showing differently all of a sudden. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Will Google Custom Search results on my home page kill it's ranking?
This is probably a dumb question, but here goes anyway. 🙂 On a site I have it would be very useful to the reader to offer a search box that uses a Google Custom Search that I have optimized to search websites that are closely on-topic with my site. I know it sounds bad that I would send people to other sites, but just assume that the reasons are valid for this discussion. My question is, if the search results are set to display on the same page (the home page) as the search box, will the links in the search results to external sites just bleed my page rank to death? I assume it would, but thought I'd check just in case I'm missing something. I have to option to place the results on separate page of my site, and noindex it, but it won't be as powerful as it would be on the home page.

Google indexing https insted of http pages
Hi!
On-Page Optimization | | ovieira
First of all i have a Wordpress portuguese languagem website (**http://**bit.ly/TGjpVx). For a while, for security pourposes, i had a SSL certificate installed on my website but i didn't renew it, for a few months now. I didn't have any special https page. All pages responded using http or https. My problem is that it seems that Google still indexes some o my webpages with https and not http, so when people click on it they get a bad cached page. No good for SEO, i think. What can i do about this? I only want Google, and other serach engines, to index my clean http pages (about 70 pages). Thanks,
OV0
