Link building - where to start?
-
Okay - we have around 200 natural links pointing to our domain, some good, some not so good; today I've spent some time removing any bad, spammy links pointing to our business domain and we're just about there.
Now I'd like to start a link building strategy. To be fair, I've assumed for the past year or so that link building is dead, unless you can get natural, really good links - which in the mobility and elderly products industry can be quite difficult. I have recently created a blog on our website - could RSS feeds be a benefit too?

Hello, my friend.

One doesn't exclude another It's actually the same thing. Basically, you create awesome content, then you promote it, share it, spread it out to people who (if they really like it) link naturally to it. The thing is that potential "linkers" won't find this super-awesome content, unless you "make"/help them find that content. Also you can use in-industry forums, q/a etc where you would link to related content you've written.
Here are some good articles/videos about link building:

https://moz.com/blog/why-good-unique-content-needs-to-die-whiteboard-friday
P.S. In fact you can consider these links above as a part of MOZ's link building strategy. Awesome content and I just linked to it. (in this case it's from the same domain, but idea stays the same)

Does anyone have solely used fresh web explorer for link building?
hello, As far I am concerned one of the best link building strategies is broken link building. But what about if you reverse the tactic and you build links using only fresh web explorer? Anyone have tried this or not yet? If yes, results are good? I will try it soon on a new site ...and some info regarding results would be appreciated. Once I use it by my self and first links are indexed I will provide more data regarding the campaign... Thanks

Starting a new site's link campaign... how to approach it?
Over the last few years I have been building content in my niche that I believe rivals some of the best content out there and deserves some attention. Although I have a plan to produce alot more content which I believe will take the quality and quantity of my content into a position among the top 5 or top 10 sites in my niche in the next 1-2 years, I decided that making that massive investment in content production irrespective of a consistent marketing plan is a recipe for failure because I need the positive feedback loop from site visitors to begin now, not in 2 years. Right now I'm in a position where I'm producing content that I think is better than alot of what's out there, and it's just not ranking the way I believe it should. I think I need to do a legitimate link building campaign to establish the website a little more firmly and put it on more level ground with some of its competitors. In Majestic SEO's "fresh index", most of my site's immediate competition have no more than 500 new domains in their links, though the biggest one has some 2,000. How can any link building effort I might take on possibly compare to links of this scale? Is there some "rule of thumb" for how many quality links I should aim for to get on square ground with some of the competitors on the lowest rungs? And if I try to build that many links at once, do I risk sending signals of untrustworthiness? (Assume I'm not going to be looking for any shoddy links, and in general will aim to follow Google guidelines.)

Link building tools/sites
I am looking for a way to share my content in multiple locations to build back links without having to upload one at a time per location. For example- if i write an article and i upload it to ezine articles and then post it over on my blog- it will then post over on my twitter and facebook and linked in. However- how i can also get this article with back links into shared sites, bookmark sites, and other locations online to help build my inbound marketing for back links. I'm trying to find a way to save time while building out the links.
