Facebook Share Percentage - On Blog Posts
-
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find a way to give each post we are creating a quality status.
Since bounce rate on this case isn't really a viable option (Blog Behavior) since people could stay 10 mins reading it and then go elsewhere without interacting.
I'm looking for a way to focus on facebook sharing, lets say something simple like "Facebook Shares / Sessions" per each blog post, while I can have an idea on my own data, lets say my highest is 4.1% of all people that go to that post end it up sharing it.
But I wonder on average what would you consider a good engagement post, what would that percentage might be?
Thanks in advance.

Hello!
I think Dmitrii's response on this is quite valid, these metrics will vary across industries. Here is a post that does a good job of facilitating an answer to the basic question of how to define post engagement benchmarks.
http://simplymeasured.com/blog/facebook-engagement-rate/
From what I've read about Facebook engagement rates it seems that for pages with under 10k likes the average is around 1%. For more popular pages it would seem that the average engagement rates only go down from there...
Whatever you end up defining as the metric ratio you want to track, the average/benchmark will be derived from past posts and how well they have performed with the same engagement definition.

Hi there.
Well, there is no unified answer to your question, since the industries, marketing budgets and the way those budgets are distributed is vary from case to case.
Here is an article on benchmarks by industry, but I wouldn't really pay much attention to this benchmarks (read previous sentence): http://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/social-media-engagement-industry-benchmarks
Now, what I'd recommend is to set your own benchmark and go from there. Just use, let's say, the number of new (or not) visits, brought to your website per social media share. If you have enough data and engagement to play with, you can go step farther and track how many of those visits become conversions and so on.
This way you can set up your average or minimum benchmark on how many shares you need to get and at the same time you can see which type of content is working better for you.
Cheers.

Are Facebook ads a waste of money?
Possibly a contrivercial topic as it depends on the business industry and other factors. Although when we have created targeted ads, say for example British people who live in London, aged between 30-55 as our 'targeted audience', set the ads live and we get nothing but fake followers and people from eastern countries. It seems to me as a complete waste of money.

Facebook: reaching audience who have liked / shared my content
Hi, I am new to social, so the question might be a bit beginner. If I put a like / share / recommend button on my site, or maybe a comment box, how can I reach audiences at a later time, who have interacted with my plugins (liked/shared/commented)? Paid ads would be one solution, but for now I am interested in organic (free) targeting. So if people who share my content do not become fans at the same time, how can I engage them in new updates about my page? Thanks for thoughts.

How do your direct social media to use another picture when the web site is shared?
I set up a web site to raise funds for my nephew(www.helpmatt.org) and social media randomly picks a picture on the share. Unfortunately this picture is from happier times and sends a different message than we would like to prospective contributors. Is there a way to set the picture that is used when this web site link is shared on social media? www.helpmatt.org

Opinions/advice on Blog posts please
I'm an intern at an Accounts Software Company. I'm doing SEO for them. As part of this I've recently started blogging. I'm doing this in an effort to increase traffic to the blog, and try to shift content focus away from Startup Methodology and increase focus on the product..I've had some success with it, in terms of increased Domain Authority and keyword ranking. At the same time, Keyword ranking can suddenly drop for some keywords, closely related to the ones I'm trying to rank for. The further difficulty is, that nobody wants to read about Accounting subjects. I've tried to make my posts as interesting and as valuable as possible.I'm still having trouble gauging whether I'm going about things the right way. Please take a look at some of the posts I've done. If anyone had any critique/advice I'd really appreciate it.. Here it is: http://www.bullethq.com/blog/category/accounts/

How to coordinate blog, facebook and twitter.
I have a small law firm with a website including a blog, as well as accounts with Twitter and FB. I usually write a blog on the website then reference and link to that blog from twitter and FB. I also do short blogs that are basically links to other interesting articles about my field, and link to those as well. Is this helpful or correct from he perspective of SEO for the website? Is there a particular way to do this? I have much to learn so any comments are welcome. Many thanks.

Is there a way on OSE or any other site to find the 50 most socially shared URLs on a given domain?
I'd love to see which URLs on a specific domain get socially shared the most. I know I can use OSE to say figure out exactly how much social sharing has happened on let's say this URL:
Social Media | | Almonds
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama But what if I want to figure out the top 50 most shared URLs across all of wikipedia.org. Is that possible on OSE or anywhere else? If not, do you have some ideas on how something similar could be achieved?0 -
How does Google 'see' Facebook shares?
With Rand's new post about the correlation between FB Shares and rankings, I wanted to ask... How is Google able to see what links are being shared? Does the profile have to be public? Or do they get anonymous info direct from FB as part of some deal?

Facebook page vs Facebook place
Forgive this question, but I've always wondered is there a difference between a Facebook Page and Facebook Place page? What if a business has both? Thanks
