How to do LinkBuilding in 2015 without getting affected?
-
Hello.
My name is Palla Sridhar. from India. small time blogger.
I have a SEO site which recently had 12 pv/day.
I recently did 2 guest posts on 2 sites. On 1 site, I included link to my site's article in the content and author bio. In another I just did it in author bio. After that my traffic dropped to 4 pv/day.
Is there any official guide from Moz, on how to do link-building? Is the above process of doing link-building correct? How to do it without getting our traffic affected in the long run and short run?

Hi Sridhar,
as Ria mentioned, there are many factors to consider. This is the official MOZ guide; https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-link-building which has plenty of great tips.
Often, we get carried away with focusing on external links when it comes to link building. There should be more focus on authority building, and this comes from many more places than just external sites.
High quality external links are certainly a large factor in ranking highly.
However, link building strategies also need variety. There are link opportunities EVERYWHERE, which are often overlooked. We wrote a blog post on this, which you can see here; http://www.inmarketingwetrust.com.au/link-building-smart-strategy-online-success/
Hope you find that useful!

There are so many factors to consider:
-
The website you're blogging on:
-
Quality
-
Relevance
-
Authority
-
Your guest post itself:
-
Quality
-
Relevance
-
Other outbound links
-
The link to your website:
-
Anchor text
-
The page it's going to
Those are the basics of the basics, but just to get you looking at link building in a better way. But the drop in traffic isn't necessarily attributed to the link building you've been doing either, and you need to take a closer look at everything.
The question you should be asking with every link "built" is: **Is anyone actually going to benefit from this link? **Will anyone see it? Does it provide any value to anyone? Would anyone actually click this, and would they be satisfied with the page it takes them to?
If no, then it probably comes across as spammy.

Depends on the blog. Not all guest blogging is the same. If the blogs in question were just for guest blogging and have no real topics they focus on you could have hurt yourself. But if the blogs were high quality and related to your site then they could have helped.
Do you have social media that you promote and actively work on alongside your blog? What else do you do to encourage readership beyond just posting a blog? You might be wondering "I just want to know about links" but this is the new link building. Readership tends to link things so building readership is critical. Then you need to (as Rand put it) amplify your content.

Suddenly Getting more than a 100 links. Is it a problem?
Hi Everyone, My client writes articles for a very prominent news source in the area where I live. Attached to each article there is her bio, but she never asked the news source to link to her website. So far, she has written more than 100 articles. What would happen if the news source suddenly links 100 times to her site? Would this be considered spammy from google or unnatural link building? Thank you very much for your answers. Arben

Have around 260 links with about 60% of them junk.
Some links are from sig links on forums that I actually legitimately post to and from real comments I have made on the web over the years. Should all of these go? Was thinking of hiring a freelancer to do this or maybe going through an online tool if anyone has any suggestions? An example is this http://ezinearticles.com/?The-Era-of-Digital-Signage&id=6236852 Edit: Well I got a reply from ezine and from goarticles! They are removing the articles, maybe its becoming a headache for them all as, Sorry, GoArticles.com is no longer accepting new article submissions or account signups. We wish this wasn't the end, but unfortunately, it is and we aren't able to continue. You can download a backup copy of all of your submissions by logging into your existing account so that you can re-use your content on your own website or other competitor sites. Thank you for being a member and we're sorry that this site will be coming to an end shortly.1 -
A website with a spam score of 5 is back linking to me. How important is to get that link removed?
There is a website that OSE has identified with a spam score of 5, it back links to me with a very specific key word. How important is it to have them remove those links?

How Useful is this website for Linkbuilding
I've been looking at A to Z of materials trying to determine how much time it is worth spending on building a company profile and adding additional information http://www.azom.com/suppliers.aspx?SupplierID=2343 DA is 50+ and PA for a new listing seems to be 17 of so. My site currently has a DA of about 20. Once of my competitors seems to have put a lot of time into it Other than a profile you can also write articles and post news. It's worth pointing out that as a whole the sector has no useful blogs and most linkbuilding is done via directory listings. And Most companies have back links from less than 20 other root domains. Thoughts would be gratefully received

Hi, **Does having over-optimised anchor text only affect the rank for that one particular keyword being used as the anchor text or can it negatively affect our rank for other search terms as well? **
