New non-www. web address but the domain is the same
-
Hi Everyone,
we're launching a new WP website that has a non-www. web address. Old address www.1to1therapy.ca, new address http://1to1therapy.ca. A re-direct has been created for the www. address. It appears that this is causing an issue for the Moz page crawler. It is currently only crawling 1 page. I will set up a new campaign.
BUT
As best practice should I set up all new google analytics on http://1to1therapy.ca? It appears that the analytics are functioning correctly, but I'm unsure if any issues may arise from the change.

Thanks for your help everyone!

Hey Jason!
I just checked your campaign, and since tracking was excluded to the subdomain you will need to create a new campaign. However, Dirk and Bryan should be correct in that your GA account should be just fine with those modifications they pointed out.
I hope this helps. Thanks everybody!
Kevin

Dirk is correct. However, it's important that you also go into Google Search Console (formerly known as Webmaster Tools) and add the new version (or both if you have yet to use GSC). You can then tell Google which version of your site (www. or no) you consider the "proper" one, among other great things. You can ensure your 301s are working correctly, submit sitemaps, and check errors that Google may find.
-
No need to set up a new analytics - the old one will work just fine.
If both the www & non-www would be active at the same time and if you would still use the previous version of analytics (i.e. not Universal analytics) - you would need to make a modification to your tracking code - but as far as I understand this won't be the case.
Dirk

Can I use wildcards "*" when setting up a new Moz campaign?
Basically I would like the Moz crawler to focus on a specific section of our domain. We do not bucket things via folder groups, so the use of wildcards would be applicable to us. Our URL structure: www.domain.com/some-stuff-here/p12345 Is the example below a valid input to track the above URL structure? www.domain.com//p Thanks.
