Is healthygallbladder.com a spammy site?

Hello Moz Community!
We're getting many back links with random anchor text (completely irrelevant) from a website called healthygallbladder.com and various subdomains under that domain. Has anyone else come across this website?
I can't seem to load the pages at all. It always comes up with a bandwidth exceeded message.

Good move! This recently happened to my site as well; someone created an account and then sent thousands of sites from over 100 domains to that page. Best to disavow.

I would say our DA is moderate at best. Turns out I'm finding a ton of these gallbladder sites that you can't access that are linking to us. I ended up disavowing.

Weird! Quick question: does your site have a decent DA? I wonder if this site is selling links to weak sites, and they're trying to mask that by also linking to high quality sites, like yours.

I was finally able to get a look at the site by looking at what Bing actually cached:
Interesting enough, the part where they seem to link to random sites and have a poor choice of words, irrelevant text, and poor grammar is the part where they list out "more resources..." about said topic.
Here are a few examples:
- Download your report for 50% off today! Now the doctor has convinced you and you should drink the juice of fresh fruits and juices.http://www.liverspot.net/index.html - This is your bedside manner person.
Sounds completely spammy.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? None of the ones listed are my website but you get the idea.

It just seems a bit fishy that I can't find much information about this site. They have 34K backlinks yet their site isn't indexed and doesn't render. Their domain is sending my site the 2nd highest amount of backlinks to our site.
We sell braces and supports. Here's an example of one of their links from this page on their site that doesn't work: http://healing.healthygallbladder.com/406067/liver-function-test-out-of-range/
This is the text - "A where is the liver located in the body doctor - Mark Kirk, the idea of her jumping up on you should know that"
The underlined is the anchor text which links to a page on our site about shoulder braces....it is completely irrelevant in so many ways. The information on the page as you can see doesn't make sense.
I just want to make sure we don't get hit with anything so I'm curious about how proactive I need to be because if it does come down to having to ask them to remove links...it'll be difficult as you can imagine.

It doesn't look like that site is even indexed by Google. Even if it were, disavowing an entire site is pretty easy so a one domain spam attack wouldn't be very effective.
I wouldn't worry about it unless you experience a massive rankings drop.

Can a feeder site link directly to the main site?
I have a client that has several coupons sites. They have about 15 different URLS all of which are [city]deals.com all of the domains have coupons lists that are relevant to that area. Other than the coupons there is not any other content on the sites. There is a Main site however, that has coupons, content, store locations, blogs, news etc... The coupons on the feeder sites are displayed differently than what is displayed on the main site. They are also categorized differently. So the question is on the feeder sites can they have the coupon link directly to the store page on the main site?

Document download sites linking to my site. Should I disavow?
I downloaded my links through the Google Webmaster site and I have a number of new links that appear to be coming from document download sites. They have basically taken my PDFs and have them to where they can be downloaded. They are also linking back to my site and creating what I feel are sketchy links. I don't actually want traffic coming to these PDFs. They are basically sample articles for my writing company and it's just a portfolio. Quick question on meetup.com links
I've been using open site explorer to assess my competitors inbound links. I filtered for "link equity" and returned these results. I noticed a link from meetup.com and investigated it further (a link on this page). As far as open site explorer is concerned this link is passing some value. That said, I noticed the link was actually posted as a comment on the meetup page. Business.com - Who's stil submitting to it, and why?
If yes, is it because you believe it is still worth the cost for the link from this particular directory due to the prohibitive costs which deter low quality sites, it's review process, the high DA, or other? If you no longer submit to it, why?

Ad banner from news site
Hi Everyone, I have a company calling me about adding a banner for our business on a news site for a monthly fee. The fee includes the banner and a profile page. The domain authority for the news site is high (84) but the profile page that it links to actually goes to a 3rd party site (DA=65). It is from this page that I could link back to our site. Aside from the marketing value of the 250x300 ad on a page that gets a ton of traffic, would it be better to link back to our site from the profile page on the 3rd party site or directly from the banner on the news site? How often is Linkscape and Open Site Explorer updated?
I ran a report on a URL that needed external links updated several weeks ago. I contacted the webmasters at each site with the outdated external link notifying them of the updated URL. I want to check how many have been updated, so I reran the report. Unfortunately, there are some that I know were updated still showing up on the report with the outdated URL. Any suggestions to get a gauge on how many have been updated?

Site size affecting page rank?
I've noticed the sites that rank above me for certain phrases are much larger than I am. Here are the results of the 'site:' command for the top 6 results for a phrase I want to rank for (yes, I know that 'site' is not exact): 32,600 pages 8,760,000 pages (wikipedia) 684 pages 148 pages (domain name equal to search phrase) 1400 pages 120 pages (my site) Now, I appreciate that larger sites have more stuff to link to, and therefore have more juice flowing to them from external links. BUT, is it also true that they are generating lots of internal juice by having so many pages? I've looked at the PageRank algorithm and understand that the max page rank for a site (with no external links) is based on the number of pages of that site and how well linked they are). My question is: based on all the experts here, is number of pages in the site an important factor (assuming good on-page SEO), or does it really come down to number of external links (from relevant sites with appropriate anchor text, of course)? Can a small site with tons of external links rank above much larger sites? Has anyone beaten Wikipedia for a phrase they were targeting? How did you do it? Thanks!
