Is google seeing "all" my homepage?
-
Hello All
Since launching my new website design - www.advanced-driving.co.uk I am not convinced Google is seeing all the content on the page. I took a long extract of text and did a search on Google and nothing was found. Also although in the search results for "advanced driving course" I can see the new title tag, the snippet isn't showing..
Is there anyway I can check this? As a scroll down I can see the URL changes ie:
www.advanced-driving.co.uk
then:
http://www.advanced-driving.co.uk/#da-page_in_widget-3
then:
http://www.advanced-driving.co.uk/#da-page_in_widget-4
then:
http://www.advanced-driving.co.uk/#da-page_in_widget-5Is this right?
Thanks in advance..

Hi Rob Morgan,
You've talked about 2 issues here, please find my views on them:

=> Here, you can check the cached version of any given page by googling "cache:<url-you-want-to-check>" and then clicking on "Text Version".</url-you-want-to-check>

As a scroll down I can see the URL changes i.e:
www.advanced-driving.co.uk

then: http://www.advanced-driving.co.uk/#da-page_in_widget-4
then: http://www.advanced-driving.co.uk/#da-page_in_widget-5=> This is absolutely fine as far as canonical URL is there, and its there in your case. So, good to go
Hope this helps!

Hi Rob
Wanted to reply you on your previous question but than I noticed the new one. I have the impressions that your new site has compatibility issues with the different plugins you use.
I tried to check your site with different external tools (web-sniffer.net - first time 302 status but no details / webpagetest.org - check: http://www.webpagetest.org/result/151013_3E_13EQ/ - failed & http://www.webpagetest.org/result/151013_1P_14V3/1/details/ - check the 302 in the first line ) - and results are not consistent. Apart from that - as mentioned previously - when checking your site in Firefox I can see the Analytics snippet in the source - when I try the same thing in Chrome the snippet is not present.
The cached version of your site (homepage) isn't complete - check http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:_cThj8msp3EJ:www.advanced-driving.co.uk/+&cd=1&hl=nl&ct=clnk&gl=be#da-page_in_widget-4 - are you blocking some js/css files in your robots.txt
Try fetching pages like Google in WMT (and with the other tools) and check the results - you could try to enable/disable each module to see if results change.

SEO agency makes "hard to believe" claims
Hi I operate in a highly competitive niche of "sell house fast" in UK. Sites that are in top 1-3 tend to have thousands of links. Some of these are spammy type links. These sites have Domain Authority too. My site has good content http://propertysaviour.co.uk and is listed with around 12 well known directories. I have been building back-links manually over the last 3-4 months. The SEO agency we are looking to work with are claiming they can get my website to first page with above keyword. How would you go about this strategy? What questions would you ask SEO agency? What elements can do I myself? By the way, I am good at producing content!

Need help understanding "Clone sites"
I just read an article about Panda and it warned against against Clone sites: "Clone sites are a strong panda factor (JM, Mar 10, 2014)" I don't have any clone sites, but there are dozens of sites with imitations of mine. We were the first in the area of interest, and then all these other sites that imitated us popped up. None are exact replicas. But many have spun some of our articles and used them to create their sites; the site structures are not identical though. Google seems to know we are the original site on the topic since we are ranked #1 for most terms. Would these be considered clone sites in their eyes?

What do do when sidebar is causing "Too Many On-Page Links" error
I have been going through all the errors, warnings from my weekly SEO Moz scans. One thing I'm see a bit of is "Too Many On-Page Links". I've only seen a few, but as in the case of this one: http://blog.mexpro.com/5-kid-friendly-cancun-mexico-resorts there is only 2 links on the page (the image and the read more). So I think the sidebar links are causing the error. I feel my tags are important to help readers find information they may be looking for. Is there a better method to present tags than the wordpress tag cloud? Should I exclude the tags, with the risk of making things more difficult for my users? Thanks for your help.

Best solutions when homepage won't rank in Google?
My homepage (www.LeatherHideStore.com) will not rank for my keywords in Google - with Google mostly pulling product pages and some categories for serp results. In contrast, my homepage consistently shows for Yahoo and Bing with exceptions where a category is a better match for the keyword. In other words, it is working exactly as it should in Yahoo and Bing. After a year of this frustration I just upgraded to a new site on Magento Community and surprise, the same problem! The SEO moz analyzer has flagged significant duplicate content issues which I think is at the heart of my problem. I have asked my developer to address these but let's just say that customer service is not his forte. I am even starting to doubt he knows what to do although the site appears is well done. Given that it is a brand new site and duplicate content in Magento is to be expected (from what I have now read), I am deeply discouraged that my developer did not or could not plan for this so here I am again! Can anyone give me guidance on what to do? I have read a lot about canonicalization and it seems complicated especially if you have 1000 duplicate page titles. I have seen that there are some extensions (i.e. Ultimate SEO Suite by aheadWorks) for Magento that claim to be able to solve duplicate content problems but I am really just grasping at straws and do not have the confidence or skills to implement this on my own. Can anyone please help? Thanks! Hunter

Original content, widely quoted - yet ignored by Google
Our website is https://greatfire.org. We are a non-profit working to bring transparency to online censorship in China. By helping us resolve this problem you are helping us in the cause of internet freedom. If you search for "great firewall" or "great firewall of china", would you be interested in finding a database of what websites and searches are blocked by this Great Firewall of China? We have been running a non-profit project with this objective for almost a year and in so doing have created the biggest and most updated database of online censorship in China. Yet, to this date, you cannot find it in Google by searching for any relevant keywords. A similar website, www.greatfirewallofchina.org, is listed as #3 when searching for "great firewall". Our website provides a more accurate testing tool, as well as historic data. Regardless of whether our service is better, we believe we should at least be included in the top 10. We have been testing out an Adwords campaign to see whether our website is of interest to users using these keywords. For example, users searching for "great firewall of china" end up browsing on average 2.62 pages and spending 03:18 minutes on the website. This suggests to us that our website is of interest to users searching for these keywords. Do you have any idea what the problem could be that is grave enough to not even include us in the top 100 for these keywords? We have recently posted this same question on the Google Webmaster Central but did not get a satisfactory answer: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters/thread?tid=5c14a7e16c07cbb7&hl=en&fid=5c14a7e16c07cbb70004b5f1d985e70e
