Sitelinks problem
-
Hello,
I have a problem with the sitelinks on my website. Google keeps adding pages that don't belong in the sitelinks, but need to be indexed. Is there a way in which I can specify to the bot which section of the website, not to add in the sitelinks.
-
Nope, unfortunately not. Donford's answer is the only way you can remove those sitelinks without hurting your SEO.
Google wants to provide users with the best possible experience and sometimes this means providing them with links to the strongest/most used parts of your site directly from the SERPs. You can at least take it as a positive that they're showing up!
-
No, there isn't. Google uses whatever she see's fit to improve the user experience, based on the content she associates with your pages.
-
I know about the demote, but I was wondering if is any other solution. More like to tell google that the link from an entire section shouldn't be added in the sitelinks
-
Hi Silviu,
You can "Demote" links from appearing in the Sitelinks.
Here is a quick answer.
Login to Google Webmasters
Select Domain
Navigate to Search Appearance -> Sitelinks
Enter the URL for the page that shouldn't appear and click the "Demote" button.*Note Google will only follow this rule for 90 days so you'll have to check it every 3 months to insure everything is working the way you want.
Hope this helps,
Don

Does Google Analytics' Enhanced Link Attribution cause any SEO problems?
We are looking to implement Google Analytics Enhanced Link Attribution on our site. Our tech person says that this will cause SEO problems because of "duplicate URLS." I am not technical, so I don't understand this at all and can't find any research on the topic. I would like to know if there are any known SEO problems caused by putting in Enhanced Link Attribution.

Problem with Occurrences of Keyword
At "On-Page Report " i have noticed that the only important problem my site has is the "Occurrences of Keyword " it says that i have ONLY 14.156 keyword repeat. My page ofcourse does not have so many repeats of same keyword. In fact this keyword is shown 10 times as i saw at source code of this page i tested. This report is for one page or for all pages of domain ? My keyword was two words keyword if that matters but there is no way that keywords to be repeated so many times.

Canonical URL problem
On page analysis wanted me to add a canonical url tag. However I added then re ran the on page analysis and it came up with an error. What is the proper way to add a canonical url tag in the head of an index page? ie. add a canonical tag to www.hompeage.com/index.html would it be ? Or should I ignore this for a home page? Because I add it then run the analysis again and get this? Appropriate Use of Rel Canonical Moderate fix <dl> <dt>Canonical URL</dt> <dd>"http://www.ensoplastics.com/index.html"</dd> <dt>Explanation</dt> <dd>If the canonical tag is pointing to a different URL, engines will not count this page as the reference resource and thus, it won't have an opportunity to rank. Make sure you're targeting the right page (if this isn't it, you can reset the target above) and then change the canonical tag to reference that URL.</dd> <dt>Recommendation</dt> <dd>We check to make sure that IF you use canonical URL tags, it points to the right page. If the canonical tag points to a different URL, engines will not count this page as the reference resource and thus, it won't have an opportunity to rank. If I don't I get a lower page rating if I take it off I get a higher page rating with room for improvement. </dd> </dl>

Lots of links on homepage to internal pages with keyword rich anchor text - problem?
Hi, All! We have a new potential client, that when looking at his site with a tool, we noticed that the previous SEO company they worked with filled the homepage copy with lots of keyword-rich anchor text links pointing to different pages on the site - many links going to the same page, just with different keywords. These links are not indistinguishable in format from the other text, which is why we only noticed it with a tool. I certainly wouldn't recommend doing that to start with, but once all these links are there, would you recommend taking them down? Is there any conceivable chance it could help the site? Is there a significant reason to think it will harm the site? Or will it just be pretty neutral? In all that's been written (much by SEOMoz) about only the first link's anchor text counting, do subsequent links work like a no-follow in the sense that they are a waste of the link-juice of the page, or is it as if they aren't there at all? (And is "only the first link counts" still the most widely held theory, or have there been new developments since?) Thanks, All!
