Adwords Express Placement and Explanation
-
I spoke with the adwords express rep about this, and he was extremely vague and unhelpful. So, I'd appreciate some assistance...even though it's a lot of questions. Whatever insights you can share to any portion of this, i would greatly appreciate.
We setup an adwords express account, and we set our budget $50 over what Adwodrds Express says was our competitors average range.
However, our ads only show up on the bottom right side of page 2. We are trying to figure out why that is? Are adwords express accounts only placed on the lower tier of PPC by definition?
Will they always be on the bottom of a sidebar on the second page?
Does it depend on how much we are willing to pay a month? So, if we double what we are willing to pay per month, will the ad move up?
Also, it's not clear to me at all, how much we are being charged per click or how we are being billed. How are they determining what each click costs?
Happy Friday and thanks in advance,
Ruben

Hi Ruben,
I would definitely agree with Eric on this one and highly recommend that you use the regular AdWords interface to view and analyze your account performance. It has been a while since I have been in an account that was set up using AdWords Express but I believe there is a link to view the account as a regular AdWords account from the Express dashboard.
To diagnose why your ads are showing on the sidebar you would want to review keyword quality scores to find out where you can improve. It might have to do with you ad copy or landing page content not being relevant enough to the keywords you are targeting but could also be that your bids are simply too low! Your total budget will not have an impact on where your ads are placed, that simply limits your daily spend. How much you are bidding on keywords along with the other quality score and ad rank related factors will determine where your ads are placed.
I hope this helps and you are able to improve positioning after analyzing your current performance in the regular AdWords interface!

I wouldn't recommend using AW express because you lose most control over the account. There's no telling where your ads will show up because you don't control the bids, can't effectively manage keywords, and can't modify the settings appropriately on campaigns to really focus on ads. I've always said AW express is like playing blackjack, but letting the dealer decide your hand for your. Adwords is the primary revenue stream for Google's business, so they're not in it to make you the best ROI but to keep you happy enough to keep spending money with them. Increasing the monthly spend won't help your ads move up, the only way to do that is optimize the campaign. It's not just if you bid more you'll show higher. It all depends on quality score for the keywords used. If they're broad match with low quality score, then a competitor can theoretically bid lower than you to achieve a higher position if their keyword has a better QS. You will really never know what's going wrong or how to fix your campaign if you use AW express.
My advice is to ditch AW express and actually manage your campaigns. If you don't have the time to learn, then hire someone who already knows it.

Google Adwords GEO Targeting Via Checkin
Hi There, I have done a fair bit of searching for the answer to my question but to no avail, maybe it's not possible. With Google AdWords is it possible to target check-ins to premises. So say someone visits a place or checks-in, they get to a see an Ad. I can't see how it would be possible but maybe they have Googled the business, then they walk in and Google shows the ad based on IP address. So for example. people who visited the Rose & Crown in York could be shown hangover cures the next day, whilst they are laid-up in bed? Cheers Mozzers. Neil

Adwords Conversions - Trying to track button clicks that fire when Bootstrap modal contact form clicked/opened
Hi there, I'm trying to implement google adwords conversions on a particular client's website. They have used bootstrap as the framework for their site and mainly open up contact forms within a bootstrap modal, after a button is clicked. See here: http://www.gtwstorage.co.uk/ I thought I had successfully implemented the adwords conversion tracking however it has been a week now, and my conversions still say they are "unverified". I wonder if anyone else has encountered this before and knows what I might be doing wrong. Thank you in advance, Darren

Adwords inital offer / plan towards a client
This must have beeen asked before, but I have been Googleing all day to find a sample offer made by some premium agency. I am working on my very first Adwords offer and although I certainly have my own ideas what to include, I would love to see an offer that has a great flow and layout. Could somebody please give me a link where I can find something?

Adwords keyword vs exact match kw
Hi guys, I have been using an excellent script that showed me the keywords I was bidding on and the keywords they were matched on by Adwords. I was using the following script: http://www.getelastic.com/exact-keywords-google-analytics/ But I'm under the impression Google changed the way these data can be matched. I now have multiple questions: Does anyone have another script that gives me the same results? Has anyone seen an announcement on why Google has changed this? Might this js solution still be working? http://www.roirevolution.com/blog/2008/02/exact_keyword_tracking_with_gajs.php Cheers and thanks for all the suggestions! Arnout

Google Analytics and Adwords Tracking Codes
A site I help someone with in link building was recently redesigned. I do not have access to the site in any way. Well, after the redesign, no conversions were tracking in Adwords and Analytics ecommerce tracking showed no transactions and no amounts. I found the Analytics code and sent it to their programmer. I have linked the Adwords and Analytics accounts. So now conversions are tracked in Adwords and transactions are tracked in Analytics. However, amounts have vanished and not returned. I'm not technically savvy enough to figure this out. How do I get this Analytics code to track transaction amounts so that they appear in Adwords and in Analytics ecommerce tracking?

Your Google AdWords account has been permanently suspended for repeated violation of AdWords or Landing Page and Site policies in this or a related account.
My client nor I received any warning. We even had a google adwords team optimize the account and my rep does not yet know the reason for the ban. Not sure if its related but their google organic rankings dropped significantly at the same time. https://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=164786 Any advice here? Do these Questions get indexed by google? I will ask my client if I can disclose the domain. Is there any way around a permanent ban? They were spending 50K per month. Is this enough to have any clout?
