Subdomains retaining PA and DA?
-
Hello Mozzers
It was my understanding that google sees a new subdomain as a new domain - however I have created a subdomain for one of my sites, and this has retained exactly the same DA (35) and a high PA (but slightly lower than original domain) of 35 - Is this normal, and if so is it only temporary?
Thanks

Hi - Thanks for the reply
I am using OSE and using subdomain.mydomain.com (not just mydomain.com) and the PA and DA are slightly less but only slightly?

Interesting, I can't say I've seen that before.
Perhaps a silly question, but have you confirmed whatever tool you're looking at is showing you metrics for the subdomain rather than the default "root domain"? If not, you'll be presented with exactly what you're seeing here since the "root domain" metrics will display info for domain.com.

I have a single product website running in a one page layout
Reporting & Analytics | | Roman-Delcarmen
my web have some internal pages such as, terms and conditions, policies and so on.
But in order to get a better ranking I decided to create a blog in the website, but my IT team told me that we can do it but in a subdomain.
The main domain use cakephp with a configuration oriented to security ( we had bad experiences with normal cms or ecommerces) So the structure of the website will this one www.mystore.com for the ecommerce blog.mystore.com for the blog So my questions are:
How is going to affect my seo?
Is there any difference betwen mystore/blog.com vs blog.mystore.com?
Wich is the best option for Google Analitycs / Search Console a single property or 2 properties? If you know some post or tutorial related with my question will be appreciated Thanks Guys1 -
Tracking goals on a subdomain with traffic coming from main domain subfolders. Mission Impossible?
Hello guys, I'm facing a huge challenge setting my goals. Here is the situation. I'm having the same Universal Analytics code on my main domain with different languages www.example.com/en/, www.examples.com/fr/, etc and my www.shop.example.com subdomain. So a French user will go to www.example.com/fr/, see a product that want's to buy and after the registration will see a thank you page on www.shop.example.com/success.html, and here comes the problem. My goal URLs are not "fired" with my filter. I have set up a filter (attached) to include traffic only for the desired profiles, but when this filter is on I can't see conversions. When the filter is off I can see conversions but for all languages. Any ideas how to set up the filter properly? Thank you! Filter.png

Why isn't my google analytics working on a subdomain?
I have a website with Google Analytics which works fine. I tried adding the code to a subdomain using http://www.verticalrail.com/kb/filter-in-google-analytics-to-track-subdomains/ as a guide. There is no data showing up though. Any ideas?

How do I track a primary domain and a subdomain as single site in Google Analytics?
Our website consists of a primary domain (marketing focused) and subdomain (ecommerce platform). The two sites look and function as one site even though they are using different technology. I would like to track the primary domain (example.com) and the subdomain (shop.example.com) as a single site in Google Analytics. The subdomain will be set up with GA ecommerce tracking as well. Can someone provide an example of the GA snippet that each would need?

Keeping Google Analytics Data when Moving to Subdomain
Hey All, Against my objections a client has decided to move an existing site into a subdomain while putting up a new site on the main domain. My question revolves around Google Analytics, how do I make sure that I don't lose historical data on the domain before it moves to a subdomain? We're going to be doing a redesign of the old site and I need to keep the historical data so I can prioritize content. What do I need to do? Or will Google analytics recognize the URL's and still attribute the data to those URL's or will I have a separate set of data based on the new URL (with the subdomain). Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks!

Subdomain tracking in GA
Hi Moz community. Wonder if you could help us out with a baffling Analytics issue. Are there any reasons why the _setDomainName() function in Google Analytics wouldn't track across subdomains correctly? We have been seeing visits to a subdomain come up as referral traffic, even after implementing the right tracking code. Would be interested to hear everyone's thoughts on this. Thanks in advance.

GA: Want to have a profile tracking only 3 out of 4 subdomains only?
Hi Mozzers, I would like to track 3 out of 4 subdomains in a profile on GA. I have 4 subdomains: www.example.com m.example.com subdomain1.example.com subdomain2.example.com I would like to create a profile with only the first 3 subdomains without subdomain2.example.com. Can someone tell me what to do to get this? I also have a profile called combined profile that includes all of them with this filter(attached). Can I add another filter to this profile? if it is the case what should I add and how? if not, creating another profile would be the only other way, right? if it is the case how can I filter it to get Thanks a lot! u4HxY06
