Moz Pro for Local Catering Company?
-
Is Moz Pro or Moz Content useful for a local catering company? I've started a trial to try to determine if it will benefit us. Our new site will be up next week so we don't currently have traffic. We will be using some Adsense and direct mail campaigns to get started, but not sure if Moz local will be sufficient.
Please help connecting the dots.
I know it would be good to rank higher for example "Catering Tahoe, Ca." But how would Moz help me see what kind of content to create for a local catering company? I'm not sure a blog article makes sense.

Thanks for your responses! I think I will start with Moz Local and go from there, and look into Pro/Content as we get things moving along.

Hey there! Moz Pro and Moz Content can definitely be helpful, depending on your SEO goals.
Moz Pro will let you track keywords both locally and nationally, as well as provide traffic and site error data. However, if your interests are limited to local keyword tracking, you might also find use in our Moz Local add-on service, Search Insights. This will provide traffic data and local keyword data (as well as let you aggregate reviews across different sites). The cost is relatively lower than Moz Pro, so if you don't need such robust analytics software you might find it more suitable. You can learn about Search Insights here: https://moz.com/help/guides/local/local-reporting
Moz Content, on the other hand, is really about performing content research for your site. If you have a blog or articles that you host, you can run an Audit to find out what's resonating with your audience and give you ideas about what to produce in the future. It also features Content Searches, which lets you look for popular articles about particular topics that you search. If you have a Twitter or other social media profile, you can use it to find articles to share with your audience! Moz Content offers some free access, so I recommend heading over there to see if the tool is useful for your needs. You can find Moz Content here: https://moz.com/content/
I hope that helps!

Hi Nasoj,
Moz is a good tool for you for numerous reasons. Without traffic it doesn't have much to show but from the day you go live it will help you with: (local!) rankings, insights on potential keywords, evaluate competition, suggestions on set-up/content for landing pages, crawl errors, linkbuilding and more...
Question: Why would you be using Adsense on your site? It makes it less trustworthy for visitors and Google. Unless you mean Adwords?
Good luck with the launch of your site!

Can Moz Monitor a JS Site?
We are building a new site that, on the blog landing page, uses JS to populate the individual blog article links on the page. The links are not viewable in the page source, but do appear once the page fully renders. After running an on-demand crawl of the site (in QA...not indexed yet), it appears that Moz isn't indexing these pages, and it also isn't reading other page elements that load later (like an H1 that is rendered in JS but not in page source). Are we going to be able to use Moz to track this site? Is there some setting to help?

Attempts to fix MOZ recommended issues resulted in drastic ranking drop.
I have a website built in SquareSpace. https://www.ruffhaus.com/ I recently started working with MOZ to track and improve organic SEO. After my initial site crawl, search visibility was reported at a waping 2.38%. Moz showed several critical crawler issues. Most were redirect, 4xx and long URL. So I started working on fixing the redirect and 4xx issues first. I thought this was a good thing. But now my already sad search visibility has dropped to .07% (-95.97%!). I also went from #1 on keyword, brand implementation plan (and 3 variations), to #27. What? Wondering where I went wrong and how to remedy? This is all new to me so I am sure I'm not providing all the info you need to answer my question. Hoping providing the site URL will help. Fire away!

SSL - green padlock but Moz say there's an 804 error?
Hi, my site has a green padlock and no SSL errors but Moz are reporting an 804 error. I use CloudFlare with fairly complex settings. I've read this thread but it's quite old and I don't understand which parts of it are still valid. I'd love to know whether this can be sorted before I spend hours setting up Moz's features as if they can't crawl my site then I would obviously need to cancel my subscription. Thanks

Why can't I Ctrl + click on links on Moz any more?
I'm interested if it's just me that gets frustrated by this? I've just Ctrl + clicked a few links to open them in separate tabs and then realised that none of them had opened. I know it's been like this for a while. It's a usability issue as it goes against expected norms, and now I have to right-click and then click "Open in new tab" on each link, which is more time-consuming and frustrating. More and more websites seem to be losing their Ctrl + click on links ability (JavaScript often breaks it). I don't know if there's a Mac equivalent... Anyway, I hope that doesn't seem like I'm too angry. It just frustrates me a little and I hope it gets fixed. 🙂 Edit - I've just realised these are getting blocked by Chrome's pop-up blocker - but why? It's only an issue on a small number of websites.

MOZ Guru Needed for Freelance Work
Hello -- I'm new to Moz and wanted to know if any community members were available for freelance work to help me fine-tune the setup of the Moz account for one of my clients. This could lead to additional work for other clients of my advertising agency.

Moz Staff: History + Watch List
Hi All, I have been going crazy trying to find a thread I read last week ... I think!

Several search attempts later, no closer to finding the thread in question. A genius moment or simple frustration got me thinking. How cool would it be to have the following features on MOZ Q&A Forum. Watch List
1] Check off any threads that you would like to monitor over time. Should you stumble upon a thread of value then simply add to watch list and view it's progress over time. No searching for the thread in question. History
2] Keep a history off all threads viewed over a period of time. Thanks Mark0 -
MOZ for initial keyword research?
Can I use MOZ for initial keyword research? Can't create an AdWords campaign (no website yet to register) to get use of Google's Keyword Planner & my subscription to Wordtracker is showing me too many unrelated keywords... Peter
