Really, what are the benefits of creating a Google Brand page for an e-commerce site?
-
We have a jewellery store client who already have a Google My Business page set up for its store front business. Should we also create a Google Brand page for its e-commerce site (which has a different business name to the jewellery store)? This client already has a pretty robust Facebook profile. Is it worth it maintaining a Brand page then - since it targets Google plus users?
And what are the chances of a Brand page appearing on search results when you're not a Nike or a Calvin Klein? Thanks heaps in anticipation of your response.

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for your thoughts. After chatting it through internally, we believe the same as you ie. no point creating a Brand page for this client!
Cheers.

Hey,
The truth is many people don't use Google+ as a social platform. My advice would be to not waste your time with a Google Brand page but I guess it all depends on their target audience. If you know customers are using it, then it might be worth a shot. But there is not point having it just to have it - if that makes sense. Regarding it appearing in search results - it is quite unlikely. It is usually major brands like you mentioned that have the brand page knowledge panel appear in the search results.

You can have many reason to create Google Shop for your business however these few may give you an breif idea what you can get if you have set up Google shop.
More product focusedGoogle Shopping provides more product specific performance information. By providing your complete product inventory directly in AdWords, you can structure your campaigns by product groups and categories to give you greater control over your bidding strategies.
More granular control with custom labels and campaign prioritiesCustom labels are a new, structured way to tag your products in your data feed with attributes that matter to you, such as ‘margin’ to separate your high- and low-margin products, price range or promotional status. Google Shopping Campaigns now offers 5 levels of custom labels.
More advanced reporting capabilitiesGoogle Shopping Campaigns now offer you the ability to view your performance data by product or product attribute. Since performance metrics are associated with the item and not the product group, you can filter and segment data by your product attributes. This includes Google product category, product type, brand, condition, item id and custom labels.
Access to competitive metricsNew to Google Shopping is the ability to gain valuable insights into your competitive landscape. You now have access to the estimated average CTR and Max CPC for other advertisers with similar products. Although the performance data is anonymous it gives you an accurate benchmark on what your competitors are doing and enables you to make more strategic decisions.Source

My big and famous website is ranking worse than unknown sites, what to do?
I have a major, popular and well-established website in my niche (lil peep merch) (lilpeepmerch.net) in my country, known as the largest, or one of the largest. But even with 12 years and loads of quality content, my website ranks WAAY worse than unknown ones, most of the time not even showing up on the searches at all, or ranking like page 7 in Google, while my rival, who does the same thing I do (and sometimes worse than what I do, like just publishing news when I publish news, and information, in-depth articles) ranks page 1 in Goo. I use Yoast SEO, try to do everything I can (but I'm no developer and have no access to my site codes), but my only good result is for one specific keyword.

Optimising for terms which are not in line with brand guidelines
Hi Fellow Mozzers, Happy New Year! - I have a client who run runs a leisure/recreation centre. The centre went through a change of name a couple of years ago. from XXXX recreation centre to xxxx youth and community centre. It is part of a wider organisation and so they have a 'content section dedicated to their centre. On the main landing page we have referred to the centre by both terms - however it seems from GA Search Console stats that the general public still refer to the centre by its old name. The manager would like the old term removed but I wonder whether this would impact on the SEO effectiveness of the page or not? Any Comments would be gratefully received.

Google + Brand Page for Multiple Locations
We have had our Google Places pages up and running now for a bit, and we are looking to start our Google + Brand page. What is the best way to handle a Brand page with multiple locations? Create a page for each location so we can connect them to their Places equivalent? Create one overall brand page and not connect it to the Google Places? A lot of the information I am seeing is around a year out of date with Google saying "something is coming" but no updates since then, so how have others in similar situations handled it?

Register a Domain: Brand Name VS Product Name
Hi All, Since Google give more priority to brand names and most of the penalized websites by Google's Penguin update are websites which had links with promoted keywords, is it a good idea to register a new domain by the product name (ex: www.leatherbags.com) ?. Or is it good to register the domain by the company or brand name and then build a reputable brand first before targeting product based keywords (ex: leather bags) ?.

Has anyone had problems with thier google maps page after the google plus intergration?
About a month ago Google contacted one of my clients to inform them that the Google places is discontinued and their Google plus page will be the new Google places. They gave my client an $100 adwards credit for adwords express so their location will still show up for their business name during the change from Google places to Google plus.. When you type in the business in a local area or on a GPS now.. It is no where to be found. You have to know the address to get directions or go there on a mobile devices. The Google plus page for all of these locations is not currently showing up either. I have contacted Google and Once again something has been released without implementing it correctly. No one seems to know what is going on... after talking to three people. Does anybody know what is going on ???? This is a huge deal when being a local company.

Ranking Videos on First Page of Google
Hey Guys, My videos are doing well on YouTube with lots of views and comments (about 1.5 million views). Nevertheless, I can’t manage to get them to appear on Google’s first SERP for my branded keywords. What am I doing wrong? What in your opinion are the major ranking factors for YouTube videos? Thanks!
