Is there way to have several AdWords Ad for the same keyphrase?
-
Hi guys.
Can I have 2-3-4 ads come up for the same keyphrase? The situation is:
I'm bidding for client's company name, there is no other competition (nobody else bids for client's company name), I'm bidding only for exact match and phrase match.
Is there way to have, let's say 4 ads come up when somebody searches for exact matched company name?
P.S. I know it's weird question, all this is done under reputation management for this company, I'm trying to occupy as much space at the top of the 1st SERPs, so people don't see ROR article in organic position #4. If you have other suggestions - please feel free to put it here. (SEO is being done, not-index pages are being optimized to try to come up as several organic results, backlink building is in process, Social media profiles are being optimized as well). I'm just trying to have some temporary "fix".

Thanks, man!

I think you might have to be a bit patient and let the system get a bit of data in. If you are using exact match and are mirroring that in the ad texts then you should be good and might just need to wait a bit. You could try putting in a couple of ad variations tweaking bits of text, especially the headline, but really on exact match there is not much variation that you probably haven't already covered!
-
It's ad relevance part. The overall QS is 6/10. There are no clicks yet. As for ad groups and keywords - I only target one phrase - exact match for company name, therefore there is no really way to regroup keyphrases
Any thoughts?
-
Hi Dimitrii,
$10 is more then enough!!
For the ad relevancy, which part of the ad is it flagging? The expected click through rate will be low until you start getting the click throughs, but if it is flagging either the ad relevance or the landing page experience then this is something you should investigate.
If it is ad relevance then you might need to split your keywords into more tightly focused ad groups and make the ads very specific for each variation/ad group. This depends a lot on how people search for the specific brand and if there is any volume for the variations or not. You might also run into problems if the brand is similar to another brand name or product. In this case again you need to be very focused on the wording of the ads and try to remove potentially unrelated searches for the other brand through negative keywords.
If landing page experience is the problem then look initially into the basics (make sure title / headers etc properly express the brand name, the page loads quickly etc).
For branded ads I usually would expect to have a minimum 6 or 7/10 quality score pretty much right away and after the click throughs pick up you should usually be 9 or 10/10. If you are at 5 or lower after a few days of actually getting some clicks you should definitely look into why that is. Check this article for a good rundown of ways to improve quality score if it is an issue.
-
Here is another problem I have - ad relevancy. It says it's below average, which is bad. How can I increase it? I thought since it's branded campaign, it should be a problem.
-
I'm bidding $10/click, which is (I think) is ridiculously high, no?
Auto bid by AdWords was $0.80.
-
Yeah new campaigns along with brands with relatively little awareness can be difficult in the beginning, thats why bidding high is important to make sure you are appearing on all relevant branded searches and ensuring your click through rate picks up as quickly as possible. It can still take some time though depending on search volume.
You could consider some moves that might encourage more brand awareness and through that potential branded search queries (newsletter, facebook campaigns etc). Good luck!
-
The whole reason I'm doing it is for pushing ROR down - please read P.S. part of my original message.
They do have various social media profiles, branch websites and other directories ranking for their name, but they all rank below ROR - that's the issue.
-
Checked the basics - all good as far as I understand.
It is new campaign, running for less than a week.
Now, there is a problem with CTR - the amount of impressions is very low, and there are no clicks so far, so CTR is 0%.
I will do some optimizations for sitelink descriptions.
Thanks for your help

Hi Dmitri,
This is not possible, only one ad could show from one domain as per Google adwords policy. As you mentioned that no body is bidding on your brand name then what is the use of showing 4 ads? I also assume than in organic also you are the on top.
If you want to occupy all the position for your brand name . create profile on social media sites like fb, twitter, linkedin etc to appear on all positions.
Thanks
-
Hi,
First of all check the basics here to make sure that nothing obvious is wrong.
If it is a new campaign then the system often seems to wait to get some quality indicators that your keywords and ads are highly relevant and deserve to have full expanded sitelink extensions.
I would try using the brand name again (where relevant and normal sounding) in some of the sitelink titles and/or descriptions, link to relevant secondary pages about the company and bid high on the keywords. Since it is a branded query you should have a mid to high quality score already and once the campaign is running a little while you should have a high click through rate also - this combination should be enough to ensure maximum quality score and you descriptions should be shown.
If it is a new site or a brand with little branded traffic this process can take longer to complete (which is why you bid high in the beginning to make sure your ads show - once adwords sees brand relevancy the cpc should drop).
-
Thanks for reply!
Yeah, I thought it would be "illegal"
Now, about sitelink extensions. I have created them and they are showing, however, descriptions for those sitelinks are not showing. Any idea why that can be happening?
-
Hi Dimitrii,
The only way to do this is to run multiple adwords accounts and it is against google policy and can result in all your accounts getting suspended (see the 'gaming the network' sections here). Not something to risk!
That being said, make sure you use all available extensions on your single ad to fill up as much screen space as possible.
Especially make sure your sitelink extensions are completely filled out with title plus two rows of description each.If your branded campaign is showing the ad plus four full sitelink extensions and your organic results are showing expanded sitelinks also then on most laptop and non tv sized computer screens the fourth organic result is going to be below the fold.

Search Volume, Organic Rankings and Adwords
Hi, I hope you can help. And if this has been answered before, I apologise. Just spent two hours searching but couldnt find much at all. So I have this website, and it ranks in the top 10 for around 150 keywords. Its fairly niche market for targeting the UK market, but subject is for a local area, its got a good optimised site, no link issues, works well, good UI etc. Problem I have is this. It used to get a fair amount of organic traffic a few years ago to generate around 30 leads a day, and back then that was from just one keyword. Today, we may get one a lead a day from organic even though we rank for a lot more keywords and our exposure all round is good. However, we also pay for adwords to make up for the lost leads, the same keywords we are ranking for organically! So we bid on adwords and get our 30 leads with the same keywords and monthly search volume as we have organically, yet we dont get any leads for those keywords organically. So Adwords produces leads, organic doesn't, but they are the same keywords and rank next to each other. How does that work? So my question is, why do our organic keywords that rank just under the adwords that we bid for, with the same monthly searches, only give us 1 lead a day (when they used to give us 30) and adwords now give us 30 leads a day? Thanks James

AdWords & Iframes?
We have a client that has syndicated content across a variety of domains. They have no access to the domain/hosting for the site that the content is being syndicated on, but would like to run PPC campaigns to these pages. The page is a header, footer and then the main page content is inside of an iframe, and I was wondering if Google will even allow that to be used as a landing page for a PPC campaign? Thanks!

Best way to automize generation of google ads - API, scripts etc.
I am in the process of setting up a fresh adwords account for a recently launched ecommerce site with about 3000 products and would like to automize the generation of the ads based on a spreadsheet of our product database. I would like to have full control over the code to generate these ads and a programmer with knowledge in SOAP and javscript would be availlable to assist in implementation. Any recommendations? Would you use adwords API or rather adword scripts?

Name of Reliable, Cost Effective Service for Setting Up Adwords??
Could anyone suggest a reasonably priced service for setting up an Adwords campaign? My monthly advertising budget is no more than $2,000 and the objective to target Google Adwords and Yahoo/Bing. There are companies providing this service but they seem to require fees of $750 to $1,000 per month for their services for a six month commitment and a mimimum advertising spend of $5,000 per month. Certain tools like Wordstream are available for around $300 per month, but I am not sure how much value they add, if in fact they facilitate the process. Also, I am not sure if advertising spend is completely wasted unless I create special landing pages just for PPC. My category, commercial real estate in New York City is very competitive with keywords ranging form $5-$15.00 click. I would greatly appreciate some advice regarding PPC. Thanks, Alan

Enhanced Campaigns: Can you disable the call extension from desktop/laptop ads and only show it for mobile ads?
I "upgraded" one of my campaigns to Enhanced Campaigns. Now my text ads appears with a phone number to the right of the Headline. Can I turn this off for desktop and laptops and only show our phone number / click to call button on mobile devices? That's how I had it set up before. Now it seems like Enhanced Campaigns is forcing the phone number in your text ads across all devices. Thanks.

Adwords Product Listing Ads & Google Analytics mis-reporting
I hope you're sitting comfortably, this could be a long one and loaded with questions! Cut to the chase: Why is traffic from google product ads showing as 'organic' traffic in GA? Here's the scenario: Google Shopping I have thousands of products in a feed to google shopping (froogle, google base, google merchant, whatever you like to call it, I'll settle for google shopping for the purpose of this question). The URLs of this feed is tagged with GA tracking data (notably utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=Product-Search), I have also tagged this with internal tracking which comes through in the back-end to assign orders to that specific source. In this case 'GOOGLEBASE'. Adwords Product Listing Ads As you know, a new (ish) feature of adwords pulls in your products from google shopping so that you get a richer ad (image, title, price) and displays this in the 'advert section' of the SERP. Once setting up a few of these, I noticed I was getting a fair amount of traffic for these new ads, taking one example, which resided in a relatively specific ad group (advertising Aviation Snips). Naturally, I wanted to find out which keywords were driving that traffic in order to improve the ads, or kill them if they weren't working. What was interesting is that I can't find anything about that traffic anywhere in adwords or google analytics. 254 clicks to 'aviation snips' must show up somewhere in analytics, if not the keywords, then what about the product? Analytics is showing nothing like that quantity of visits to those product landing pages where you'd expect. It's like ghost traffic. Google Analytics Since experimenting with product listing ads the organic traffic in GA has suddenly shot up, looking at the new keywords they are all queries which when I test them show up product listing ads in the SERP so it's obviously the paid listing ads driving this traffic. Why is google reporting these as organic, rather than paid? I also noticed a keyword appear as * in the PAID segment of analytics. I thought this was my missing aviation snips traffic, but digging into the landing pages for the * keyword, they are many different ones. There's a connection between the * and product listing ads, but what is it? Is the traffic being doubly reported? Back End Meanwhile we've seen an increase for orders tagged in the back-end of GOOGLEBASE which makes sense - google are pulling in my google shopping feed into the paid part of the SERPs and these are generating sales. Here are some of my initial thoughts / theories: 1. When google pulls in google shopping results into the organic part of the SERP, these get reported as ORGANIC in google analytics, even if you've tagged them otherwise. It seems they strip the tags out. This makes it very difficult to know if your google shopping feed is working well, or if you are doing well on standard organic traffic. 2. Google isn't separating out traffic as PAID with their new product listing ads, completely skewing the reports. It makes it look like you've gained great natural organic listings when if fact you are paying. 3. With relation to the missing Aviation Snips data - maybe google is showing a huge variety of products for that adgroup (even though it's specific) and therefore I can't see the traffic to the specific products that you'd expect. This I'm most confused about and wondered if I've missed a trick in setting the product listing ads up? I've attached a couple of screenshots which I hope will help clarify some of this. I can see product listing ads being great if you could get proper data to analyse and improve them. So here are my questions again if anyone can help? How do I see which keywords are driving the product listing ads? How do I see the landing pages for the product listings ads? What is the * keyword coming through in GA? How can you get GA to report product listing ads as paid rather than organic? Thank you so much. If I can gather enough data on this all and work it out I'll try to write up in a blog post to help others. 0rOMM.png GUAE0.png fWPL7.png

Adwords Confusion - Where are these clicks coming from?
Ok, I posted two images showing that my Google Adwords search settings are to receive clicks only from google's search engine, as we are doing testing on keyword behavior with a few specific keywords. The second image will show that we have somehow 7 total search clicks, but not for any of our specific keywords. I'm confused. . . and hungry. . . I'm 'confungry'. 😉 jk any thoughts are welcomed. search-1.jpg search-2.jpg
