Open Site Explorer: Error receiving data
-
Hi,
When searching many URLs in Open Site Explorer, we seem to be getting the same "There was an error getting your data" message come up instead of the URL's metrics and inbound links. We have tried on different browsers as well, and the same issue results.
Is there a reason for this or a way to fix this? Thank you!

Hi again!
I'm so sorry you're running into more Open Site Explorer issues! The tool is having a bit of difficulty today and its performance is degraded. The team is currently investigating the issue and hopes to have it resolved as soon as possible!
In the meantime, you can check for updates on our Health Page, here: http://health.moz.com/
I'm really sorry for the inconvenience! Hopefully we'll have OSE back up and running soon.

I'm seeing the same error now for this query:
https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/links?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geisinger.org%2F&filter=&source=external&target=page&group=0&page=1&sort=page_authority&anchor_id=&anchor_type=&anchor_text=&from_site=The status wheel just spins and says loading data and below it says:
! "There was an error getting your data"

Hello, I think it's the same issue as this one :

And Rand answers :
Should be all fixed now. Sorry about that - we're launching a new index, and there seems to be some hardware issues. We're trying to reverse engineer the source of the problem. On the plus side, a new index should be out soon.
The new index has been released few days ago so ...

Crawling 4XX errors because of URL accented
Hello guys, I am experiencing crawling errors in Moz because the URLs read by spiders contain accents and special characters, which I know isn't best but yet my client needs to keep it. I know that Moz "uses percent encoding to parse the HTML in the source code, so any line breaks and spaces in your HTML links or sitemap links are converted to %0A and %20, causing a 404 error". Is there any way to avoid these errors happening in the dashboard? Or am I supposed to simply ignore it?

WP Events Calendar Creates URLs Too Long in Site Crawler
My travel/tourism site is on WP and using an Events plugin that ads a calendar of events to many pages. The MOZ crawler is indexing almost 46K links with a URL too long, but the site only has about 3.8K pages indexed in Google. I can tell MOZ is indexing the same pages over and over again but just adding a random calendar month and year. Here are some examples. https://www.visitcurrituck.com/four-day-stay/?full=1&long_events=1&country[0]=US&ajaxCalendar=1&mo=10&yr=2003 https://www.visitcurrituck.com/four-day-stay/?full=1&long_events=1&country%5B0%5D=US&ajaxCalendar=1&mo=10&yr=2034 https://www.visitcurrituck.com/beach-houses-family-time/?full=1&long_events=1&country%5B0%5D=US&ajaxCalendar=1&mo=1&yr=1873 Any advice on how to prevent MOZ from indexing this way? I don't believe that Google is seeing this also, but maybe they are. I just know my site has over 63K issues and I'm sure at least 75% or more is because of the way they are picking up on the events calendar. Thanks!

How Do You Deal With Duplicate Content On A Retail Site
Hi Guys We make custom portfolios and boxes and every time we have a Moz site crawl, Rogerbot always returns a number of Duplicate Content Issues relating to different products. As per the image below (which I hope is visible?!) Rogerbot has flagged duplicate content onto one product that relates to 5 other different products. For instance there is duplicate content for an A4 Leather Portfolio and an A3 Leather Portfolio and an 11"x17" Leather Portfolio. I can't redirect or canonicalise to just the A4 Portfolio as they are all individually different products. The information on each page although similar, is relevant to each of the products, so rewriting a different blurb on each product page, will not be user friendly for our customers. I could ignore the duplicate content issues, but then that isn't good practise (and also makes for a very unsatisfactory looking Dashboard!) Any ideas?? Nick wzQLgBl

Why some of my strong backlinks don't show up in Site Explorer
Hello, Just was checking my backlinks and I see that few very strong backlinks are not showing up in my links list. I check with Moz bar in my browser and those are all dofollow links. Some of those sites link back to me a while ago. Thanks, Regards, Armands

Does OSE crawl our site often? Or do we have an other problem? (internal links)
I am wondering if i can find out when OpenSiteExplorer crawled our entire website for the last time.
Link Explorer | | wilcoXXL
A few months ago we added some internal textlinks to all of our productpages. Those are links to the brandpage of that particular product. Some of our brands do have up to 1500 products, so there should be at least 1500 internal links pointing to that brandpage. But OSE still gives me a wrong count. It says there is only 1 internal link pointing to that brandpage.
Is it because OSE never crawled our site again? Or am i missing something here?(maybe too many internal links to one specific brandpage is not okay?) I'll hope you guys can help me out with this one.0
