Simple Blog Content Question
-
Which is better?
To write my own blog post or, (with permission) use other high DA content on my blog.
I'll probably do both, but I'm very curious as to what the search engines prefer or which is better for seo.
Thanks in advance!

Thank you again!

Yes, you can link to other sites in text (anchor text will be the linking text) wherever you like, but if you are using their content you should use a canonical tag to acknowledge them as the original source.
-
Thank you David, I will be writing my own blogs, Though now I'm slightly confused about linking to a different site from my blog.
I thought I was supposed to use anchor text to link to a different site?
-
Hi Miss Thumann,
Definitely writing your own content is the best option here.
You won't get any value out of republishing content from high DA sites and it could even have negative consequences.
If you want to publish content from another site because you think your readers might like it, you can do it, BUT you should use a canonical tag to tell search engines who the original source is.
Cheers,
David

Removing and resubmitting an article to another blog
I received a guest post earlier from an SEO company. I have published it, and it's been indexed in Google. Now the person wants me to remove the guest post, probably because they already have a guest post with a link pointing to the same client on my blog. I don't mind removing it, but are their any negative aspects in republishing that same article on another blog? Would it be a mistake to remove that article from my blog?

Emailing content to posterous
Posterous is setup to syndicate my content to my personal WP blog. After reading information on SEOmoz, I realize that Duplicate Content is not a good thing. Should I stop this process? Note: The way it works is I email a post to posterous and it posts it there and on my WP Blog and create a FB post and a Tweet.

Looking for advice on blog implementation...
I am getting ready to implement a blog for my company. We have our website controlled through a commercial Content Management System that has a blog feature, but it is cumbersome to use and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a Wordpress blog for example. I know for SEO purposes that we would be better to use the CMS blog and make it a subfolder (www.mysite.com/blog) instead of using a subdomain (blog.mysite.com). However, we would like to use the hosted WordPress blog and find a way to retain the same SEO value for our www.mysite.com site that it would provide being a subfolder on the site. Any suggestions? Installing Word Press CMS on our current web servers is not an option. We would have to use Wordpress hosting services for the blog.
