H1 & H2 headers - When is too close
-
Hi, I have two similar headers on my site's homepage:
H2: Inventory management made easy
H1: Kitchen inventory management made easy
Target keyword for the page: (kitchen inventory management)
My question is are they too similar and would this be effecting my rankings?
Should I change the H2 header to something totally different?
Thank you Moz Peoples

The real question to be asking with something like this is "if I do this, will it help or hinder the user experience?" Without seeing the website or knowing the context here, I'd be guessing it's going to hinder that experience.
As time goes on and users become more familiar with the basic mechanics of how a search engine works, keyword optimisation (or over-optimisation in this case) appears more obvious to them and is the digital equivalent of the stereotypical slimy car salesman.
I can't think of many examples where having two near-identical headings on the same page would make a whole lot of sense but either way, go with whichever genuinely works best for the user and the vast majority of the time that will result in improved rankings too.

Reducing multi-page website to one page & SEO ramifications?
Hello there! I just want to check in before I do this. I am reducing a multi-page website to one page (temporarily, but for at least 4-6 months). I will be 301 redirecting all old pages to the one, new home page. The new home page has a lot more content, long and short keyword phrases. Aside from losing the benefit of internal links, will reducing the number of website pages hurt a ranking? Does having associated keywords on other website pages provide benefit to another (in this case Home) page? Thanks so much for your invaluable advice!

When To And When To Not Use AMP
Hi All, I hope someone might be able to help me with this. I am looking at implementing AMP on a website. I have been doing a stack of research into advantages of using AMP etc. However I am struggling to find an answer to when I should not / where not to be implementing AMP. More specifically I see large sites that are running AMP but it does not seem to be on all pages, how is the best way to determine when or when not I should be using AMP. Thanks In Advance, Mark

Using Canonical & INDEX, FOLLOW meta tag
I am sort of new to this, and working with an overseas development team on an eCommerce site. I am curious if the Canonical tag will supersede the tag, or if it is best to remove this tag entirely for duplicate product pages?

Using display: none in h1 tag
Hello, For the h1 tag on my landing page, I currently have 'Welcome to Edison Ford'. I was thinking of adding the keyword I'm targeting (property maintenance bristol) to the h1 tag which would look like this 'Welcome to Edison Ford Property Maintenance Bristol' Would it be a good idea to wrap the property maintenance bristol part in a span tag and add 'display: none;' to the styling? Thanks in advance.

Blog Post Snippets on HP & Cat Pages
I want my blog's category pages to have the ability to be indexed and rank, therefore I don't want to noindex these pages. My strategy is to create original snippets for each post on these pages but I don't know what Wordpress plugin or configuration I can use to create original snippet content on the Homepage and Category pages that will not show up within the blog post text itself. Any suggestions?

Page title = h1, or slight variation of it?
I recently found a new SEO tool http://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/search-engine-optimisation/ It is fast, and has found some site tweaks I need to make. There is a free demo version that crawls up to 500 URIs. I recommend you check it out (I'm not affiliated). One of the conditions it checks for is if your page <title>is exactly equal to your <h1> tag. The fact that they flag it makes me wonder if that's something I should avoid (?).</p> <p>When I googled it I found a variety of opinions. When I looked at Rand's excellent piece on the perfectly optimized page http://www.seomoz.org/blog/perfecting-keyword-targeting-on-page-optimization I notice that the example Page Title and H1 are slightly different. By design, or a happy coincidence?</p> <p>Any opinions on whether I should make my Page Titles slightly different than my H1 tags to avoid the appearance of over optimization, or some other penalty?</p></title>
