Help me to understand why this page doesn't rank
-
Hello everyone.
I am trying to understand why most of my website category pages don't show up in the in the first 50 organic results on Google, despite my high website DA and high PA of those pages. We used to rank high a few years ago, not clear why most of those pages have almost completely disappeared.
So, just to take one as an example, please, help me to understand why this page doesn't shows up in the first 50 organic search results for the keyword "cello sheet music":
http://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/downloads/Indici/Cello.html
I really can't explain why, unless we are under some sort of "penalization" or similar (a curse?!)... I have analyzed any possible metric, and can't find a logical explanation.
Looking forward for your thoughts guys!
All the best,
Fab.

That's just the result of my frustration for not having more than a single answer after so many days of opening this thread. I have not offended or dissed anybody specific with that. My intent was just a wake-up call to anyone could bump into this thread.
So, EGOL, please, let's stop here, ok? I am really interested to know if someone else can give me constructive feedback and advice.
Thank you fr your cooperation.

Well, I am very disappointed that with all the "experts" we have on these forums, nobody is bothering to answer my question above or even just to give a hint. I guess it is too hard to give an answer. If so, I can consider myself an expert too then!
Has SEO lost any hope of rationalizing problems?
From this very thread. I can get ten more.

I am sorry, but I really think you are confusing me with someone else, I don't think to have been rude to anyone, ever. It's not in my nature. Yours is a strong accusation, so, please, show me where I have been rude on these forums. I am curious.
I'd really like to get back to the topic and stop this non-sense as soon as possible.

I am not confusing you with anyone else.
Why are you deleting posts?
-
Fabrizo,
I am a member of Moz, not a staff member. So my comments are my own and are not approved by Moz.
I don't think that my comments in this thread were rude or offensive. I am only telling you what you need to know.
If anyone reads a few dozen of your posts they will easily see that you are often rude to the people who try to help you. People stop providing free assistance when the person asking for help isn't nice.
-
Ok, good. Please, tell me where you found issues that I could have fixed with the advice I received on these forums in the past. I can't really find any and that's why I posted this question in the first place.
I don't think though that a comment like yours should be allowed on these forums, mostly from the MOZ staff. In my opinion, that was rude and pretty offensive.
-
I've looked at your website for a few hours. And, given you enough suggestions that I feel justified in making those statements.
-
I am so sorry to read this, but you have no idea how seriously I have taken any advice I got from people here and anywhere else. I have spent the past 6 years working dozens of hours every day to apply what suggested and to figure this out Panda related problems, and not sleeping at night because of this. How dare you saying that??!! On what basis? Have you looked at my website to understand the work I have put into it to avoid any Panda related issues? I guess not otherwise you wouldn't have posted such a non-sense post. I have applied all and everyone of the tips and advised fixings I got from the "experts", but none of them worked apparently (if I am really still under a Panda penalty, which I strongly doubt at this point).
You may also want to checkout this other thread where I am specifically discussing Panda:
https://moz.com/community/q/panda-rankings-and-other-non-sense-issues
Please, look at the code on my website pages and tell me WHERE you find evidence that I deserve to be nuked by Panda and such because of my "laziness", then I'll keep discussing with you.
PS: Where have I ever "dissed" advice given by people on this forum? Please, tell me, I am curious. I don't think to have ever disrespected people's advice the way you have just disrespected my question herein. I am very disappointed by MOZ if you are really the "Content Director" on these forums.

Any more ideas? Am I under any Google penalty of some sort (Panda, or what else?)
-
Thanks for your reply, but I don't think that'll make any difference. I tried any kind of different title for the past year, and didn't make any difference. Also, have a look at all the sites before us and you'll see they have even longer titles and URLs without keywords inside exactly like us.
So... what else?
-
Your page title is 71 characters long. Try erase word “instantly”. You will get title 62 characters long.
In the page's URL no keywords are used.
Optimize images.

Does having Multiple Similar Topic pages hurt my ranking?
Hi, We have an ecommerce store and currently have topic pages setup for each category/location combination, each topic page lists relevant products available for sale, so for example Most Popular Birthday Party products in UK
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | cmavroudisyahoocom
Most Popular Birthday Party products in London
Most Popular Birthday Party products in Manchester We are now looking at ways of capitalising on longtail keyword searches and a potential solution is to expand the number of Topic Pages/Location combinations so for example Most Popular Birthday Party products in UK
Cheapest Birthday Party products in UK
Birthday Party products for small groups in UK
Birthday Party products for large groups in UK
Children Birthday Party products for in UK
etc In general would this be a positive or negative thing to do for our site to give each longtail keyword its own dedicated topic page (given that our crawl budget is not necessarily high). Or should we just try to add longtail keyword to the original topic page itself and make that one rank better? Thanks0 -
Why isn't Google caching our pages?
Hi everyone, We have a new content marketing site that allows anyone to publish checklists. Each checklist is being indexed by Google, but Google is not storing a cached version of any of our checklists. Here's an example:
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Checkli
https://www.checkli.com/checklists/ggc/a-girls-guide-to-a-weekend-in-south-beach Missing Cache:
https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:DfFNPP6WBhsJ:https://www.checkli.com/checklists/ggc/a-girls-guide-to-a-weekend-in-south-beach+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us Why is this happening? How do we fix it? Is this hurting the SEO of our website.0 -
Prioritise a page in Google/why is a well-optimised page not ranking
Hello I'm new to Moz Forums and was wondering if anyone out there could help with a query. My client has an ecommerce site selling a range of pet products, most of which have multiple items in the range for difference size animals i.e. [Product name] for small dog
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | LauraSorrelle
[Product name] for medium dog
[Product name] for large dog
[Product name] for extra large dog I've got some really great rankings (top 3) for many keyword searches such as
'[product name] for dogs'
'[product name]' But these rankings are for individual product pages, meaning the user is taken to a small dog product page when they might have a large dog or visa versa. I felt it would be better for the users (and for conversions and bounce rates), if there was a group page which showed all products in the range which I could target keywords '[product name]', '[product name] for dogs'. The page would link through the the individual product pages. I created some group pages in autumn last year to trial this and, although they are well-optimised (score of 98 on Moz's optimisation tool), they are not ranking well. They are indexed, but way down the SERPs. The same group page format has been used for the PPC campaign and the difference to the retention/conversion of visitors is significant. Why are my group pages not ranking? Is it because my client's site already has good rankings for the target term and Google does not want to show another page of the site and muddy results?
Is there a way to prioritise the group page in Google's eyes? Or bring it to Google's attention? Any suggestions/advice welcome. Thanks in advance Laura0 -
Silly Question still - Because I am paying high to google adwords is it possible google can't rank me high in organic?
Hello All, My ecommerce site gone in penalty more than 3 years before and within 3 months I got message from google penalty removed. Since then till date my organic ranking is very worst. In this 3 years I improved my site onpage very great. If I compare my site with all other competitors who are ranking in top 10 then my onpage that includes all schema, reviews, sitemap, header tags, meta's etc, social media, site structure, most imp speed, google page speed insight score, pingdom, w3c errors, alexa rank, global rank, UI, offers, design, content, code to text raito, engagement rate, page views, time on site etc all my sites always good compare to competitors. They also have few backlinks I do have few backlinks only. I am doing very high google adwords and my conversion rate is very very good. But do you think because I am paying since last 3 year high to google because of that google have some setting or strategy that those who perform well in adwords so not to bring up in organic? Is it possible I can talk with google on this? If yes then what will be the medium of conversation? Pls give some valuable inputs I am performing very much in paid so user end site is very very well. Thanks!

Ranking dynamic landing pages
I have a client and I'm working on a project with their development team. We're creating dynamic landing pages populated with their lead data. Similar to the style of linkedin. For example, someone searches for "demand generation manager" and one of our pages with contact information (some) shows up in the search results. www.leadgenius.com/demandgenerationjobs (or something like that. we have yet to flesh this out). We're also looking into different backlinking strategies to support optimizing the above mentioned pages in addition to their new site launching this month. What is the best way to optimize the dynamic pages as well as the main site in tandem or independently?

Please help with page
We used to use this page http://www.discountbannerprinting.co.uk/banners/vinyl-pvc-banners.html to rank for the words vinyl banner and PVC banner but we have tried to focus the page only on PVC banners and move the vinyl banners word to http://www.discountbannerprinting.co.uk/ yet for some reason even though they have both been spidered google has now chosen to rank this page http://www.discountbannerprinting.co.uk/stickers/vinyl-stickers.html for the vinyl banner words- how do I stop this from happening I thought the home page would be powerful enough to rank for the word with a title inclusion and a spread of the word on the page. Also if anyone can give their opinion on why they thinkhttp://www.discountbannerprinting.co.uk/banners/vinyl-pvc-banners.html does not rank very well I would be truly appreciative.

SEO on page content links help
I run a website at the bottom we have scroller box which the old SEO guy used to contain all of the crap content so we can rank for keywords not on the page and put all of the links in to spread the link juice into the other inner category pages (some of these pages are only listed on our innerpages otherwise). We are trying to remove this content and add decent content above the fold with relevant long tail keywords in (it is currently decent but could do with expanding if we are removing this large chunk of text in theSEO box and some long tail keywords will be missing if we just remove it) we can add a couple of links into this new content but will struggle to list the category pages not on the left hand navigation. If we were to list all of the pages in the left hand nav would we dilute the power going to the main pages currently or would we be in the same position we are now? For example at the minute I would say the power is mainly going to the left hand nav links and then a small amount of power to the links in the SEO content if we put these into the nav will it not dilute the power to the main pages. Thank you for your time and hopefully your help.

How can I change my website's content on specific pages without affecting ranking for specific keywords?
My client's website (www.nursevillage.com) content has not been touched for 4 years and we are currently ranking #1 for "per diem nursing". They do not want to make any changes to the site in fear that it might decrease our rankings. We want to try to use utilize that keyword ranking on specific pages (www.nursevillage.com/nv/content/careeroptions/perdiem.jsp ) ranking for "per diem nursing" and try redirecting traffic or placing some banners and links on that page to specific pages or other sites related to "per diem nursing" jobs so we can get nurses to apply to our new nursing jobs. Any advice on why "per diem nursing" is ranking so high for us and what we can change on the site without messing up our ranking would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
