JSON Schema with Multiple Affiliations
-
I have an attorney that has multiple affiliations that I want to mark up with JSON schema. What is the best way to do this?...
Option #1:
"affiliation": "Example 1, Example 2",
Option #2
"affiliation": "Example 1",
"affiliation": "Example 2",Or, is there another way to do this that I haven't considered?
-
Just to clarify, my recommended format is not exactly Option 1, but it is close. They need to be sure to encase each individual 'affiliation/example' within it's own set of quotation marks, not just separated by a comma. Without doing so, search engines will see all the affiliations as a single entity rather than individual affiliations. Also, be sure to include all 'affiliations/examples' within brackets [ ]
See how Moz's set up their 'sameAs' schema? This is the format that should be followed.

Yes, I agree with Joe. Option 1 is the way to go as option 2 would most likely rewrite the existing Affiliation schema.
-
Hello,
Your best option would be to follow the format below:
"affiliation": ["example 1", "example 2", "example 3"]
Don't forget to include a comma (,) after the closing bracket if there is another property following this.
Hope this helps!

Schema Markup Validator vs. Rich Results Test
I am working on a schema markup project. When I test the schema code in the Schema Markup Validator, everything looks fine, no errors detected. However, when I test it in the Rich Results Test, a few errors come back.

Could I set a Cruise as an Event in Schema mark up?
Hi there, We are now in the process of implementing a JSON-LD mark-up solution and are building cruises as an event. Will this work and can we get away with this without penalty? Previously they have been marking their cruises as events using the data highlighter and this has displayed correctly in the SERP. The ideal schema would be Trip but this is not supported by Google Rich Results yet, hopefully they will support this in the future. Another alternative would be product but this does not display rich-results as we would like. Event has the best result in terms of how the information is displayed. For example someone might search "Cruises to Spain" and the landing page would display the next 3 cruises that go to Spain, with dates & prices. The event location would be the cruise terminal, the offer would be the starting price and the start & end date would be the cruise duration, these are fixed dates. I am interested to hear the communities opinion and experience with this problem.

Where does Movie Theater schema markup code live?
What I am trying to accomplishI want what AMC has. When searching google for a movie at AMC near me, Google loads the movie times right onto the top of the first page. When you click the movie time it links to a pop up window that gives you the option to purchase from MovieTickets.com, Fandango or AMC.com.Info about my theaterMy theater hosts theater info and movie time info on their website. Once you click the time you want it takes you to a third party ticket fulfillment site via sub domain that I have little control over. Currently Fandango tickets show up in Google like AMCs but the option to buy on my theater site does not.Questions Generally, how do I accomplish this? Does the schema code get implemented on the third party ticket purchasing site or on my site? How can I ensure that the Google pop-up occurs so that users have a choice to purchase via Fandango or on my theaters website? TSt9g

Schema.org problems (still)
Hey Mozzers, I've been working at this for a while now, and I can't figure out why the rich snippet data is not getting pulled for our reviews and product rating. I've included a sample URL where we have reduced the schema.org markup: http://www.tripcentral.ca/vacations-packages_00_03_JN_gran-bahia-principe-coba.html | } | Any thoughts? I was told not to list multiple reviews, so I took them out. But it's still not being picked up in the SERPs, and we would really like the star rating data to appear. Any useful advice would be appreciated!

One website, multiple service points
Hi all Wondering if anyone could offer an opinion on this..am talking to a new client who offer kitchen installation and design. They have a central headquarters and cover a 100 mile radius of their location. A lot of search terms they are aiming to target - Kitchen Design, Kitchen Fitters etc offer localised results. This is where my issue lays. I have worked with plenty of clients in the past which have physical presence in multiple locations and have marked up the site so that the site ranks for each of the stores, but trying to make one site appear in many locations where it doesn't have an address is a different issue completely. Not only do they only have one address, they also only have one phone number. We will target, as best we can, the non localised keywords but need to work out what to do to cover the locations 20/30/40 miles from the office which they cover. I welcome any opinions on this please.

One Website, Multiple Top-level Domains
I have two clients, both of which have a single website, with multiple top-level domains, many of which represent "subpages". For example, when you navigate to the home page, the URL is "[CompanyName].com". However, when you navigate to a subpage, the browser appears to remain at the same website, but in actuality (as you can tell from the URL bar) you've navigated to "SubPage.com". Client A is an insurance company that has multiple branded insurance products. Each product is independent of the other (it's unlikely that a single client would purchase multiple insurance products from different brands) and have their own brand. Thusly, each section of the site that represents a different brand has its own top-level domain. The website design/structure remains the same, with some light color changes and image swaps. Client B is a consultant and offers various services. None of these services are "branded" (a single client would hire the consultant for a wide range of available services). Each subpage on the site represents a different service and has its own top-level domain. Here are my questions: Are either Client A or B breaking guidelines set forth by major search engines? Are either Client A or B hurting their optimization with this trickery? My inclination is that Client A is doing it right, but Client B is not. Your insights would be appreciated!

Using: http://schema.org/Attorney http://schema.org/Person Hierarchy for Attorney is: Thing > Organization > LocalBusiness > ProfessionalService > Attorney Hierarchy for Person is: Thing > Person So, should I use: Larry Lawyer Firm: Law Firm Name Address: 742 Evergreen Terrace Or should Attorney be the top itemtype? Does it even really matter?
