Having some problems with understanding how to properly use anchor text for my keywords' better rankings. Please help!

Last week I did some work on my website's inner pages linking and some of my highly ranking keywords fell down as a result. I guess I did something wrong, please help me figure out what exactly was wrong!

Here is the example of what I did. I put a link to the page that ranks for 'Thermador repair Brentwood' here: http://www.ifixappliancesla.com/blog/2016/09/12/appliance-repair-brentwood/

I put exactly same anchor text, 'Thermador repair Brentwood'.

For my blog posts, I use Yoast plugin, so when adding the link, I received the message "You are linking to another page with the focus word you want this page rank for. Consider changing that if you truly want this page to rank." While this one's ranking, 'Thermador repair Brentwood', didn't fall down, others did.

Could you please confirm if my understanding is right and I'd better not use the same keywords on two or more pages? If yes, what is the best practice for linking to the pages that are not in the main menu? Let's say, I decided to do blog posts for the areas my appliance repair company serves and to optimize those pages for respective keywords. So, I have pages like "Appliance Repair Service in Brentwood" (which is optimized for "appliance repair brentwood" keyword), "Appliance Repair Service in Beverly Hills" ("appliance repair beverly hills" keyword), etc. I thought that the best way to link to them is to put the same anchor texts: "appliance repair beverly hills", etc. But it looks like the best way would be to use the anchor texts like "Beverly Hills", "appliance servicemen in Beverly Hills". Please tell me if I am right? Any explanation, advise or referral would be much appreciated!

Will adding tooltip text to al my links improve my rankings? I read some article, but it's a hell of a job to add tooltip text to al my links. i was wondering if it's worth the time: A tooltip text appears if the mouse hovers over the image or a link and is provided by using the TITLE attribute. A description of the image or the link then appears in the tooltip in a small yellow box (Internet Explorer). The TITLE text (tooltip text) gives a short description of a link or image. The difference between an ALT text and the TITLE text is that the ALT text is a short description that replaces the image if the image does not load. The number of links (internal and external) and images must be equal to the number of tooltips for every page. The number of TITLE text can be higher because ALT text can also be used for other HTML elements. Add Title texts to links or images for those which do not have them yet. Thanks!

Use 301'd Domain for a new campaign

Hello everybody, My company is getting ready to start a new mediacampaign on a very specific subject. The mediacampaign is not directly targeted at our core business, the goal is more to inform our customers about a subject and do a little branding for our company. A nice (and expensive) infographic was built that is going to be the core content of the campaign. We want the infographic to get shared a lot and therefore some of my colleagues want the url to be as short as possible. The idea is to host the infographic on a url on our companysite, but use a 301'd, shorter domainname in our communications. We are going to be getting a lot of links to this empty 301'd domain which does nothing else then 301 to our companysite. I know that linkbuilding to a 301'd domain is an old blackhat tactic, that's the main reason I don't feel good about this. But i can't really find any info on this subject.

Over Optimised Anchor Text (Internal & external)

Hi First - is it possible for internal anchor text to be considered 'over optimised' in terms of diversity or does that just apply to external backlinks ? For example If you have a main site section/page thats about a service you offer and you call the page this service and the URL this service and then link to it from many internal locations (but in a logical useful manner not just for the sake of it) using this service/keyword as the link anchor text i take it this WONT ever be considered over optimised anchor text since is completely in context, makes sense, is useful and after all is what the page/section is called (so would be strange to call it and link to it via any other term) ? Second - I have a project who's backlink profile is nice and diverse and could by no means be considered over optimised on a domain level. However looking at page level a main site section/page (as above) has only one back link with exact match anchor text from the BOTW directory, so in regard to that page keyword rich anchor text from this one backlink is at 100%. However the anchor text is what the page/section is called (title and url). I presume that this is also unlikely to be considered over optimised (since makes sense, is logical helpful and would be strange to name it anything else) or could it be considered over optimised ? Is having multiple links with the same anchor text on a webpage beneficial?

We heard at a recent SEO conference that having multiple links with the exact same anchor text on a page is not beneficial in any way. Is this true? For example, if the link is in the navigation and it is in the footer does it only get counted once by Google for SEO purposes? Is there no SEO benefit to it?

Just a thought. With the way pagerank works and passing link juice evenly across all your links. Would it make sense to structure your site so that each page passes your all your link juice from lets say your homepage to another page. Then that page would contain all the link juice from the homepage. Then do the same thing with the next pages. For instance Homepage - linkjuice 10 link1 - follow link2 rel=nofollow link3 rel=nofollow link4 rel=nofollow link5 rel=nofollow Link1 - linkjuice 10 link1 rel=nofollow link2 - follow link3 rel=nofollow link4 rel=nofollow link5 rel=nofollow Link2 - linkjuice 10 link1 rel=nofollow link2 rel-nofollow link3 - follow link4 rel=nofollow link5 rel=nofollow Link3 - linkjuice 10 link1 rel=nofollow link2 rel-nofollow link3 rel=nofollow link4 - follow link5 rel=nofollow Link4 - linkjuice 10 link1 rel=nofollow link2 rel-nofollow link3 rel=nofollow link4 rel=nofollow link5 - follow and so on. Theoretically would'nt this help pass a ton if not all of link juice to your main links? Sorry if this is a dumb question, it's late and sometimes my mind goes places 🙂

Ranking strategy -which pages to rank?

Hi, I hope you can help. I am looking to rank for 10 keywords. My homepage has some authority. On what pages should I focus my optimisation on? Should I create a new page for each keyword and build links to these pages or try and optimise my home page for a number of keywords? If so how many keywords should you optimise for from your home page to get the most clout? Im a little confused about which strategy would be the most effective. Many thanks.
