Is a Facebook lookalike audience a good idea when audience requires a necessary characteristic

We are running a social media campaign for a point of sales system for restaurants and retail stores. We have had quite a bit of traffic to our website from Adwords and SEO.
We have thought of the idea of creating a new look-alike audience based off the people who have come to our website already.
However, we only really want to only build a Facebook audience consisting of business owners, managers or decision makers of restaurants and retail stores that would be interested in a point of sales system at some point. We know that most of the people who have come to our website (from SEO and Adwords) have been interested, in some degree, in our point of sales system. My reservation though is that if we create a look-alike audience, Facebook will not be able to replicate the type of audience that really fits this profile - that it will create an audience possibly of similar personalties, interests etc to that of those that have visited our site, but not one that consists predominately or entirely of owners, managers or decision makers of restaurants and retail stores. This is the necessary characteristic we are wanting for our audience members.
Is it fair to assume that in this situation Facebook won't be effective in its creation of a look-alike audience to fulfil what we are really needing as stated? Or am I underestimating Facebook's abilities?
You thoughts here would be greatly appreciated.

I think in this scenario, I would encourage you to just test it out and see how it works for you. The lookalike audiences can be a great way to reach those that you may not have any option to target normally. And since Facebook cpcs are generally much lower than AdWords, it's worth setting aside a testing budget and running a few different tests.
Another idea would be to instead of creating a lookalike audience, to create a target that does match your criteria. Facebook has a large selection of criteria and you can preview the audience size before running a campaign.
Do keep in mind that Facebook doesn't have the same intent as SEM marketing. You'll need to give them a strong reason to take action.

Base on my experience is very hard to create that kind of segmentation on facebook. Facebook is a great source of information but has some disadvantages, google collect information based on people's search terms in other hands facebook collect information based on people's behavior.
A good funnel in your case is create an audience using your emails campaings and google adswords campaigns in the first line and then use the facebook retargeting to reach just the people that you want

Hi For Twitter using Followerwonk you can gauge the influence on what a person/brand is using a tool like Follwerwonk helping you find the most influential twitter users based on a number of metrics. But is there a similar tool for Facebook which shows which brands/companies Facebook sites have the most influence. Or is the best way to gauge this is just on their number of likes? which is not really accurate

Facebook guidlines for NPO
I've been trying to help a local chapter of a non-profit organisation set up a Facebook page (for free!) but the idea has been refused at the national level. I think from a lack of understanding of what good Facebook can do for their communication because even the page created for the whole NPO is very low on fans and hardly ever updated. I've got plenty of examples of NGOs doing well on Facebook. But what I'd love to find an example of an NGOs doing good work on Facebook through local chapters and (in my dreams) get my hands on guideline document that explains to local chapters how they should go about creating the page in accordance with the NGOs. Does promoting a new page on twitter/facebook help it get indexed faster?
I know this probably won't matter much to people who get crawled on a regular basis, but for those of us who don't, does promoting a new page on social media help it get indexed faster with google? My site rarely gets crawled, but I've recently been adding new content. When I add new content I started to promote it on facebook/twitter and I do get minimal traffic from it. I noticed that a couple of the pages seem to be indexing quicker than pages normally do for me, although I'm not sure if it's because I recently migrated to WP or what..? I know T/FB are no follow sites, but is there a chance that promoting a page may contribute to the pages getting indexed? Thanks for any insight you can shed on the matter. Facebook Promotion Help
I am considering doing a iPad give away to gain more Facebook page likes. I have several questions running through my brain that I'm hopeful fellow Mozzers can help me with. I was thinking I'll give away an iPad for every 500 FB likes on our page...or $1.00 per like. If I get an abundance of likes will Google smile upon me? How do I track the entries? Are there any tools that can assist in getting the word out on this and or tracking it all? I'm kind of a FB newb!

Cant post/share to Facebook page anymore...please help
Hi Guys I manage a few facebook pages and a day ago something weird happened to one and i cannot figure it out. It started with me trying to auto share a youtube video to the facebook page and offcourse added the "comment" and shared. The video is then visible when i log in to the page but not when i am not...and it also does not share to the followers....and then the same happened with a normal link and image post....I see it when logged in but it does not get sent to my followers or to the page if not logged in....am i missing something here. Should i just log in and then click on share and see if that send it out?? please help...facebook drives me crazy half the time..thanks in advance
