Google Search Console All Verfication Methods Failed
-
Hi Guys,
We are trying to get google webmaster tools verified for this site: https://www.nookie.com.au/
We have implemented the recommended: HTML tag from Search Console which is:
Which is installed see: http://prntscr.com/g66cle
However, verification still failed. We then tried Google Analytics (failed), alternative methods (HTML file upload failed) Google Tag Manager.
All failed. I have no idea why this has happened, any ideas?
Cheers.

Until I know, you can verify any property no matter the order
http://www.site.com
http://site.com
https://www.site.com
http://www.site.comThe important thing is register all and then set the right version

Hi ViviaCa1,
I don't believe you need to verify the http version first before https, are you 100% sure about this?
-
Have you already verified the website with http? When verifying https websites you need to add and verify the website with just http first: http://www.nookie.com.au/

Ok this is your tag
In you case you have many options available
1.If you have access to your cpanel and your hosting, just dowload the verication code (html file available as an option on search console) you dowload the file and then upload it to your htdocs folder (www folder). IMPORTANT on this case when you finish to upload the file. Be sure that the HTML file is available to the crawler. Just type directly on chrome www.yoursite.com/theverificationcode.html if the browser shows you the page everything is right and then you should try to verify the website, if not maybe you have a problem in your hosting or in your htaccess file.2.As you mention you have problem with the html tag, on this case make sure that you are using the right tag, first check that the code is right or make sure that you are not using the code of other of your properties, remember that search console use a unique code for every user so make sure that is the right code (maybe in the website you are using the code of other person) THE IMPORTANT THING IS MAKE A DOUBLE CHECK TO THE CODE
3. I didn't found any Google Analytics Script, so first add the google analytics tracking code and then try to verify the property.
Regards

Are these Search Console crawl errors a major concern to new client site?
We recently (4/1) went live with a new site for a client of ours. The client site was originally Point2 before they made the switch to a template site with Real Estate Webmasters. Now when I look into the Search Console I am getting the following Crawl Errors: 111 Server Errors (photos) 104 Soft 404s (blogs, archives, tags) 6,229 Not Found (listings) I have a few questions. The server errors I know not a lot about so I generally ignore. My main concerns are the 404s and not found. The 404s are mostly tags and blog archives which I wonder if I should leave alone or do 301s for each to /blog. For not found, these are all the previous listings from the IDX. My assumption is these will naturally fall away after some time, as the new ones have already indexed. But I wonder what I should be doing here and which will be affecting me. When we launched the new site there was a large spike in clicks ( 250% increase) which has now tapered off to an average of ~85 clicks versus ~160 at time of launch. Not sure if the Crawl Errors have any effect, I'm guessing not so much right now. I'd appreciate your insights Mozzers!

Google Webmaster Tools During GA Transition?
I'm working with a client that is launching a new website. Google Webmaster Tools can just be disconnected, then reconnected to the new Google Analytics property, correct? Without any data loss in Webmaster Tools? Thanks! Becky

Some goal conversion in Google analytics showing under referral
Yesterday I have created Google analytics account for a new website but few goal conversions comes from payment gateway site (paypal.com, epdq.co.uk) and showing under referral. How to fix this issue so I can know the real source of Goal conversion. *Note - utm_nooverride=1 on thank you page applied, payment gateway URL is already placed in Referral Exclusion List. So please don't suggest either of them. Thanks

Paid Search Referral
I have a brand new site with a paid search referral in my G&A, but we are not running any adwords or any paid marketing for it. The referral is "not set" so I do not know where it is coming from.

Advanced segements Google Analytics
Hi guys, I was to hasty last time marking the given question as answered. So i would like to ask another question on the subject. My original question was how to get a pdf report of 10 specific keywords with information about visits, pages per view. avg, visit time, new visitors and bounce rate. The answer was to create an advanced segment with "or operators" and adding all keywords on an exact match basis. I did this but it still gives me a list of more then 500 keywords in traffic sources organic view. Next to that i get different visitor numbers for some keywords where it says 40 at the normal segments (all visits) but gives me 0 when i turn on the advanced segment. I've been clicking and changing things for a long time until i got almost dizzy. Could someone plz help?

What impact will Google's 10/18/2011 announcement of 'Making Search More Secure' have on the ability to track specific keyword queries via Analytics?
The full announcement is here: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/making-search-more-secure.html My concern is that the ability for Google Analytics to parse information on specific keyword queries will be diminished. The article hints that Google Webmaster Tools will be exempt from the problem, and I've never relied on Webmaster tools as a go-to for tying specific keyword queries to Goal Tracking (form submissions and sales). The community's thoughts on this one are appreciated. 🙂
