Is it worth getting a backlink to a page that will be 301'd?
-
I have an opportunity to get high value backlinks (from the Emmy's) to a landing page before our new website is live. The backlinks won't be free and they would go live before the website is live. Is it worth spending the money if the landing page will be redirected once the site goes live?

Thanks Gaston!
I am hoping the website can go live before the links are created, but doubtful. Either way, I think they're worth it, as the referring domains would be very high DA (Huffington Post, etc.) and I'm sure the pages will also have high PA.

Hello Tim,
Yes, it is still valuable. When the 301 redirect is done, the "linkjuice" will be transmitted to the latter page.
There will be some juice loss, because of that redirect.Although google said that will treat all 3XX redirect as the same and that there will be no PR loss... Many still support the idea that there is a 10-20% of PR loss in the redirection.
The best idea is to get the backlink after the redirection and to be pointed to the latter page.
Of course, all this will a valid tactic ONLY if the pointer and the pointed page share the same topic, are good pages and google values both of them.
Best Luck.

Outsourced Backlinking?
Hello, I've been newly hired to head up a decent sized company's digital marketing initiatives. Between social media campaigns, web content development, ppc management, etc. I've been a bit overwhelmed. It looks like until my team gets a bit larger we may have to outsource link building, but with the new penguin update I'm worried about choosing the wrong company and ending up with a ton of spam links that gets us nailed. Does anyone happen to have any good recommendations? Thanks!

301 to main page or deeper page for best 'link juice'.
I have two rafting websites. One ranks high for one set of keywords. The other ranks okay for a different set. I want to redirect the whole second site to the first to give the first more link juice and hopefully lift the first site even more in the rankings. Would it be better to link to a deeper page of the 1st site. I have a page that does well for some long tail keywords or would it be better to link to the main page. Or is it a bad idea over all.

How to improve ranking on .com vs 'local' .no
Hi I am ranking 1st for my main keyword (barneklær-childrens clothing) on google.no. I got a bit surprised to see we are close to bottom of page 2 for same keyword on google.com. This keyword is as you probably understandreally country specific because the norwegian letter -æ . So if I take a look at the list at google.com its really the same sites I am outranking on .no. For this keyword local stats pr month is 22k and global is 29k (from google adwords). Even though our site is norwegian only - all of the global traffic is relevant due to the fact that this is a norwegian only word. Main reason we are ranking first on google.no i think is that we ve had articles on the strongest and most relevant blogs in Norway. I am guessing we somehow need to improve our international linking profile - right ? Do i then need US sites ? Is it enough with sites outside Norway? Any suggestions, its not easy to get international links to a norwegian site only dealing with childrens clothing. Thanks in advance... Dan Lærum
