Strange insight "tracked keywords" from Moz
-
Hi there,
I was wondering if somebody is seeying the same problem. Since a couple of days i got a new keyword insights in my mail and i've seen some strange things for two accounts. The branded keywords are dropped lower then position 51. The thing is that i got an insight, i checked it in my private mode and the branded keywords are still there. Other keywords are still ranking, and there is no effect on my traffic.
There is no connection between the sites. One has a couple of links and the other a lot. One has a very good page with nice optimalisation and the other has no text. So it couldn't be over-optimalisation and incoming links...
Does anybody have the same problem?Greetings,
Niels -
Hey there! By "checked it in my private mode", do you mean that you used an incognito browser to look at your rankings? It's important to note that Moz checks rankings in a process that completely strips personalization from the query, which means it's more representative of a national average for all searchers in the country. You would not necessarily be able to reproduce these rankings in your browser because things like location are factored into your search results (even when you are incognito). One option to replicate rankings results is to use the search profile feature in the MozBar, which does strip personalization.
If you're seeing a drop in rankings, you might also checkout out the MozCast to see if there were any spikes in volatility around the time when we collected the data.

Label existing keywords
I have keywords that were added without a label that I would now like to associate with an existing label. I don't want to lose my tracking data by deleting them and re-adding. Is there a way to easily label them with an existing label?

Moz Crawl Report Increase in Errors?
Has anyone else noticed a huge increase over the past couple weeks in crawl issues in their dashboards? Without being able to see historical data week over week, I can't tell what's been added. Is this some update with the tool? I'm not seeing any health issues with this feature on the Moz Health page, it just seems strange that I'm seeing this across all our accounts.

New video section within keyword research
I notice there is a new section to the top left of the search page referring to videos. What's this? Is it to research our own video performance? If so, how do I use it?

Moz Crawler URL paramaters & duplicate content
Hi all, this is my first post on Moz Q&A 🙂 Questions: Does the Moz Crawler take into account rel="canonical" for search results pages with sorting / filtering URL parameters? How much time does it take for an issue to disappear from the issues list after it's been corrected? Does it come op in the next weekly report? I'm asking because the crawler is reporting 50k+ pages crawled, when in reality, this number should be closer to 1000. All pages with query parameters have the correct canonical tag pointing to the root URL, so I'm wondering whether I need to noindex the other pages for the crawler to report correct data?: Original (canonical URL): DOMAIN.COM/charters/search/mx/BS?search_location=cabo-san-lucas Filter active URL: DOMAIN.COM/charters/search/mx/BS?search_location=cabo-san-lucas&booking_date=&booking_days=1&booking_persons=1&priceFilter%5B%5D=0%2C500&includedPriceFilter%5B%5D=drinks-soft Also, if noindex is the only solution, will it impact the ranking of the pages involved? Note: Google and Bing are semi-successful in reporting index page count, each reporting around 2.5k result pages when using the site:DOMAIN.com query. The rel canonical tag was missing for a short period of time about 4 weeks ago, but since fixing the issue these pages still haven't been deindexed. Appreciate any suggestions regarding Moz Crawler & Google / Bing index count!

How does the grader tool treat keyword "stuffing" in ecommerce
We recently started using Moz on our ecommmerce site because I'm concerned that our SEO company doesn't really know what they are doing and I want to see what I can do on my own with the little bit of knowledge I have. It's helping in a number of ways but here's a big question mark: The Grader Tool keeps telling us that our product category pages have too many keywords on them. We are only using them in the content once or twice, but the sub-category buttons on the page show the category + sub repeated. Could this be what's causing it? Does Google distinguish this for ecommerce? We've taken a huge hit in rankings for key phrases and keywords over the past six months and I'm wondering if this is part of it?
