SEO Plugins for WordPress
-
Hi, Mozzers-
I'm re-evaluating my SEO WordPress Plugins. What are your favorites and why? Are there others that you avoid and why?
Thanks!

I currently use All in One SEO and haven't had problems.
Now I'm seeing reviews for the Yoast plugin over All in One SEO.
I downloaded the Yoast Wordpress SEO but it seems to have far less features and settings unless Yoasts plugin is doing everything on auto-pilot I think fixing what isn't broke for me isn't an option unless someone can compare the two side by side and demonstrate why I should switch and how I could benefit.
In regard to updates, I get fairly frequent version updates from All In One SEO.

I've developed a WP plugin which works like Tynt except it doesn't add the annoying # tag at the end: http://dejanseo.com.au/copylink/ - it's great for getting automated attribution and link when people copy your content.
-
Yes to Yoast as well. I used the All-In-One SEO for a while, plus some others, but Yoast seems to be much more powerful.
-
Try the FV All In One plugin. It's great, and it allows you to add a custom canonical tag on any page you want.
-
Another +1 for Yoast's plugin - it's brilliant. Pretty much everything in one plugin.

The most comprehensive I've used is Joost de Valk's Yoast SEO plugin. It's absolutely the most comprehensive. I don't use anything else now. Prior, I was using Arne Brachenwald's Google XML Sitemap plugin and the All in One SEO plugin. Joost de Valk had done a much better job of staying a head of versions and releasing a more comprehensive toolkit.

SEO before products on ecommerce site
Our company plans to quickly launch an e-commerce site to sell religion themed banners (religionbanners.com). We'll have our products up on the site in about a week. Should I block Google from accessing the site during this period? Is there anything wrong with starting simple SEO tasks such as submitting the site map on Google Search Console prior to us having the products on the site?

Duplicate Content with ?Page ID's in WordPress
Hi there, I'm trying to figure out the best way to solve a duplicate content problem that I have due to Page ID's that WordPress automatically assigns to pages. I know that in order for me to resolve this I have to use canonical urls but the problem for me is I can't figure out the URL structure. Moz is showing me thousands of duplicate content errors that are mostly related to Page IDs For example, this is how a page's url should look like on my site Moz is telling me there are 50 duplicate content errors for this page. The page ID for this page is 82 so the duplicate content errors appear as follows and so on. For 47 more pages. The problem repeats itself with other pages as well. My permalinks are set to "Post Name" so I know that's not an issue. What can I do to resolve this? How can I use canonical URLs to solve this problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Wordpress Shortcodes Showing in SERPs
We use some Wordpress shortcodes in our theme and they aren't in the meta description at all. For certain queries, the shortcodes show on the SERPs when Google chooses the description for us -- is there any way to clean this up or prevent it? It's annoying because it includes the entire shortcode, not the markup that gets generated as a result of the shortcode...

SEO for One Page Websites
Hi Are there any SEO guidelines for "one page websites". I'm looking into the 'benefit' it might have in combination with exact match URLs. Many thanks in advance.

The SEO and CRO Value of an Image Next to Page Content
If given the choice to add an attractive stock photo to a conversion focused page, do the pros out number the cons in terms of SEO and CRO. Some pros are that you can include the keyword in the image filename and image alt tag. It can also increase user experience by making the page more attractive. Some cons might be that it increases page load time which can have a negative impact on SEO and user expereience. Also the visitor might get distracted away from the lead form button.
