Migrating Customers Off Domain, DO NOT Want to Pass Ranking Signals
-
Hey everyone! Thanks in advance for any help on this.
I work for a SaaS company that has all of our customer apps and assets on our company domain. This has resulted in a lot of backlinks pointing to our domain, and a lot of pages indexed as well. I'm working with product to migrate all customers onto a separate domain, but a concern is that we need to still move the customer content to the new domains somehow without passing any of this backlink info.
Am I correct in my assumption that if we 301 all of the apps and assets, all of that backlink info stays the same?
What would be the best way to do this? Could we 302 everything and then wait like, 30 days and delete the 302? Would that still fix the problem, or does all of that backlink data "stick" after the 302 is deleted?
Any additional thoughts would be extremely helpful!!

What Happens If I migrate my Sandbox free website to a new domain? Will my rankings be affected?
Hey Mozzers! One of my sites recently got out of the Google sandbox period (cause it started to rank for keywords) but the problem is the old domain sounds kinda uncool. I then found a new domain with a very cool name so I want to migrate my old site to the new domain. So my question is will it affect my rankings on Google? Or will my new domain be sandboxed for another year? Please help me out fast.

301 Domain Redirect And Old Domain to a New one including pages
Hi, I need to 301 an old domain to a new one (new website) I need to 301 the domain to a new page not the new domain direct for example www.olddomain.co.uk to www.newdomain.co.uk/pagenew Then I need to also 301 all the other pages on the old domain to the new one for example... www.oldmain.co.uk/oldpage to www.newdomain.co.uk/newpage Issue is I can do one or the other not both, I can get the other pages to redirect but then the main domain wont redirect to the correct new page. Or I can get the old domain to redirect but not the internal pages. Thanks

We switched the domain from www.blog.domain.com to domain.com/blog.
We switched the domain from www.blog.domain.com to domain.com/blog. This was done with the purpose of gaining backlinks to our main website as well along with to our blog. This set us very low in organic traffic and not to mention, lost the backlinks. For anything, they are being redirected to 301 code. Kindly suggest changes to bring back all the traffic.

Redirect typo domains
Hi, What's the "correct" way of redirecting typo domains? DNS A record goes to the same ip address as the correct domain name Then 301 redirects for each typo domain in the .htaccess Subdomains on typo urls still redirect to www or should they redirect to the subdomain on the correct url in case the subdomain exists?

Domain forwarding
Hi Is it ok or bad practice to domain forward shorter more memorable snappier domains used for promoting a website to a longer domain where the website actually lives, such as: Promoting in social media profiles, emails and offline literature a domain with forwarding set up like: www.brand.com To the main website: www.brandincludingprimaryproductrelatedkeyword.com And if ok (not bad practice), since its the forwarded domains that are being promoted they are hence the links most likely to be shared on social media and other websites so will they be treated like 301's and 'link building' for those will pretty much equate to link building for the main domain (or not) ? Many Thanks Dan

Rankings of Subdomains vs. Main Domain
Here's a puzzler... Our main domain (www.ides.com) doesn't appear in Google (but does on Bing and other engines). We think this is due to duplicate content which we're fixing. However our website's subdomains continue to appear prominently in SERPs, even on Google - here are some examples: IDES Prospector = prospector.ides.com IDES = support.ides.com Cycolac FR15 = catalog.ides.com Why would Google penalize a main domain and its subdomains?
