Track rank by multiple zip codes, radius, or state?
-
I work for a hospital that serves patients in multiple states. I'd love to track keywords locally, but entering one town or zip code at a time would take days. Is it possible to track locally by multiple zip codes, by radius, or by states?
-
Got it. I think I'll have to spread my wings and fly--I'll try it out and see what kind of reporting I get. Thanks for all your help.

Hey Dave,
You're not crazy, but that video is showing you adding three separate locations to track that keyword by, not combining ZIP codes into one location. You can certainly track a single keyword by more than one location and see results for different locales that way! There's just no way to combine locales and track by a broader region. -
Hi Tawny,
Thanks for the timely response--I'm impressed with the help team at Moz! If you watch this 20-second video, it looks like it is possible to combine zip codes to track larger regions. Am I nuts? I could be nuts

Unfortunately there's no way to combine ZIP codes to track larger regions — sorry about that!
You could set up Campaigns to track geographical regions, but you'll probably run up against your keyword limit pretty quickly, since you'll need to track all those locations individually, and each location will count as one use of a keyword.
Our regions are defined by Google, so unfortunately we're limited to the locations they provide to us. That can make tracking keywords by the regions you're interested tricky, particularly if they're broad regions like Western Massachusetts rather than an individual city or neighborhood.
Let me know if you have any more questions I can help with, or feel free to drop us a line at help@moz.com and we'll do our best to sort things out with you.

Me again! (Sorry.) Would it work to create new campaigns for specific geographies (one for Eastern Mass, another for Western Mass, a third for Southern NH, etc.)? It'd be all manual input I guess, but if we could define geo per campaign, then we'd only need to do it once. Although I guess we'd have to replicate the keywords and any other info pertaining to the national campaign.

Hi Tawny,
Thanks for the response. I'm at "Add & Manage Keywords >> Track locally" and it looks like I can add zip codes one at a time. Is there any way to add multiple zip codes simultaneously? Maybe comma or space delimited?

Hey there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here.
Sorry for any confusion! Our locales are actually not as broad as ZIP codes, though ZIP codes are partially how they're defined. The locales are tracked as a defined region with borders established by Google. It's hard to say exactly how Google is defining these areas, but it is likely related to ZIP codes and IP addresses.
I found this article while I was researching — it doesn't have exact answers to this question either, but had some valuable insight into Google's local search results: http://searchengineland.com/everything-need-know-pigeon-algorithm-211771. Section 7 of this resource would be the most relevant to how those locations are defined.
I'm afraid you would need to add smaller, individual locations to be able to track locally for those keywords.
If you have any more questions we can help with, please feel free to reach out to us at help@moz.com and we'll do our best to answer all your questions.

Getting Started: Multiple Campaigns VS Single Campaign
I'm new to Moz and am trying to determine whether to create multiple campaigns broken out into product categories or a single campaign and label keywords by product category. I figure the majority of the folks in the Moz Community are in agency space, so most probably prefer a single campaign per client. We're an in-house marketing team so we have the ability to track up to 10 campaigns but only need to track a single website. I like the idea of having the different campaigns for different product categories, but I don't want to make things overly complex either. Just because you can do something doesn't necessarily mean you should.

Explanation of rankings summary - Rankings in top 50 and Keywords that have moved up or down
Question on the exact definition / relationship between the summary of your rankings in the top 50 and the number of keywords that have moved up or down for your selected time frame. To me, I would expect the number of keywords that have moved up (or down) to be more than the sum of any upward movement for the top 50 For example, if it says we had (7) keywords that moved up to 1-3 and (5) moved up to 21-50 and then to the right of that it tells me we have had 5 keywords move up - what does that mean

When connecting your Google Analytics account to your Moz account, Moz provides a drop-down of accounts & UA codes to select from. Where is Moz pulling those selection options from?
The list of Google Analytics accounts and UA codes listed are outdated. How can I update them to reflect the most up-to-date accounts (& UA codes associated with those accounts)?

I am new to MOZ, I set up one tracking campaign two weeks ago, I have tracked no keywords, I have done some keyword research for ranking difficulty and in two weeks I have already hit 50K pages crawled, I'm maxed out, is this common?
I am a startup and can't afford the higher plans yet. And even their highest plan is 600K pages crawled, which seems really low considering how lightly I used the tool and how quickly I hit 50K. Does anyone have any advice or information on how they use the tool on lower packages? Did I do something wrong to hit 50K pages crawled that fast? Does this pricing make any sense, it seems like an incredibly high price, I love the tool, any help is appreciated.

Adding Keywords to rank tracker
I have a rookie question. I started a campaign with the basic analytics package here. I have about 100 keywords I am attempting to paste into the box. I have done this a few times and have seen the "your keywords have been added message" but do not see the keywords below. Fast forward 12 hours still nothing, so I pasted in about 10 of the keywords (same format) and they took. I went to paste 10 more and nothing. What is the best practice for uploading bulk keywords? Also, will they appear only after the 24 hours to determine the rank?

Page appearing multiple times in Warnings report
In reviewing my Moz warnings report, one page is appearing multiple times because the title is longer than recommended. Is this a bug in Moz? The page is appearing with a number of different URLs, despite there being a rel="canonical" tag. The page's canonical URL is: http://betablog.org/wishing-and-hoping-and-praying/ And in the warnings report I'm seeing variations like this: http://betablog.org/wishing-and-hoping-and-praying/?replytocom=26539 which are clearly links from the comments section.
