Google changing my Title
-
I noticed today that Google is showing a different Title in searches for the homepage. It is showing a title which I believe was active as of late last year or early January. The new title is in the title tag, in Google cache and in MOZ crawls as well. Not sure why it would still be showing a different title in the search and wanted to see if anyone can explain the reason.
Thanks

Does that hurt me trying to rank for the keyword I want which is now showing at the end of the title instead of the start. The start of the title it is showing my business name which i rather have at the end.
Thanks

Guess what? They probably find the old title, as it could still be mentioned on the page to be more relevant. That's all that matters. Apparently the users search term was something that they thought wouldn't match with the regular title. This has been a practice that they've been conducting for years. Sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes it's bad

Creating the META title tag?
I am having a hard time figuring out what the best META title tag is for my site. I have a deal blog that focuses on Amazon deals but I also write articles, top ten lists, etc. It is baby and mom related. Is there a tutorial for this? Should I just experiment and watch my organic search results? TIA!

Google rel hell
So apologies in advance for this question, but: Can someone explain whether as a site we should be using the "rel author" tag or the "rel publisher" tag? 1. We don't really need to distinguish between the people who write our content. 2. We definitely do need to establish ownership of our content, as unfortunately it has been widely copied. We are spending quite a bit of time filing DMCA notices. 3. Do we need to apply either tag to every page? Or does "del publisher" just need to be applied to the homepage to cover the rest of the site? 4. What looks better in the search results? - a person's face or a company logo? If prefer a face, but understand we need to promote our brand. Thanks P

More long tails for longer title
Hello, Will a longer, two big phrase title gather more long tails overall than a title with one short keyword? Example: Would this: Title: Nike Running Shoes, Adidas Tennis Shoes create more long tails overall than this title: Title: Running Shoes or is more dependent on other things, like content? It seems like you'd be more likely to hit more phrases strongly with a long title. If that's true doesn't it make sense to always use a longer title when possible? Thanks.

How? Title in Google differs than actual title tag
Just curious on how sites do this? If you search for a video (perhaps Green Lantern Trailer), you'll see the YouTube results in Google/Bing listed as YouTube - Green Lantern Trailer but when you go to the page, the actual title tag displayed is Green Lantern Trailer - YouTube I've seen other sites do this too. I'm just curious what they are doing (I don't see any other title tags in the html)? I thought your title tag is what is displayed in SERP? Thanks,

Methods for tracking changes?
Hi all, I'm starting to make changes to our websites this week. I need to record every change made so I can compare the affect it had on the performance/ranking of the site. I'm curious to know what methods those with more experience are using to keep track of everything. Thanks in advance.
