Hello everyone,

I am writing weekly articles for a website. At times, I am referring to data/statistics from other articles/studies.

My question is - how do you include links/references to this material? For example, I notice that some articles cite their sources at the end/bottom. But - some include outbound links to the original source throughout the main content of the article- so that when you click on the link it takes you to the correct web page.

So far, I am including a 'Sources' section at the end of my article that includes title, author, date. I am doing this to stop people clicking off my article to check out the link!

Do I need a specific sources section if I cite my source as I go along? For example, 'In their 2017 study of life insurance, the Association of British Insurers found that 70% of Brits are without life insurance'. (made up statistic!

Different web writers seem to do different things and it's a little confusing!!

Sorry if this is rather long -winded! Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Hi everyone, Just a quick question about using info/statistics from other sources in my articles. If I use a quote/piece of info from another online article do I just say where it's from and link to it? Is this acceptable or do you have to get permission? I find the whole permissions thing quite confusing! I know that outbound links are good for SEO so just wanted to check this. Thanks!

Nofollow on internal links

Hi, What do you all think about using nofollow on internal links? On pages that arent so important and use dofollow on important pages maybe for example from the sites menu.

To use a fdqn or relative address in an internal link or not

Is it better to use my fdqn of http://1stclassdriving.co.uk/ or ~/ or ../ and then page name address for internal links or not? or does it just not matter for seo rankings?

No link data in GWT

Has anyone had this problem - no data in the links section of GWT? I haven't set a preferred domain, so I don't understand what's up.

I have a client where every page has over 100 links

Some links are in the main navigation (it has a secondary and tertiary level) and some links are repeated in the left navigation. Every page has over 100 links if crawled. From a practical standpoint, would you (a) delete the 3rd-level links (or at least argue for that) or (b) rel='nofollow' them? From a usability standpoint, this setup works as they are almost one click from everything. From a crawl standpoint, I see some pages missed in google (the sitemap has over 200 links). Looking for the best on-page current SEO advice to set these guys on the road to success.

Webpage with around 200+ inter links per page

HI, I have a client that I recently took on and I run a SEOmoz crawl on the website and a minor error was that .. 1. web pages have more than 200+ interlinks, reason for this is becuase the client offers a service to every place in the world and then has links to contact us/about us etc those kind of pages. is this something we need to strongly avoid? 2. The title tags are all over the suggested amount by 1/2 letters. - again is this really bad?

Linking Back to the Same Page

What are the other seo's opinions on linking the same keyword you are targeting lets take an example like Trampolines. So we have a Online shop selling trampolines would you feel it a good or bad thing to link the keyword trampolines from the homepage to the homepage almost creating a loop. Some SEO's say yes some say no ?
