Is it a good idea to direct a new url to a subfolder?

Hello everyone,
I have a client who is in public relations. He is wanting to integrate SEO into his business and is hiring me to help.
He purchased a domain that is separate from his existing website, but wants to keep the services and existing blog (which will include SEO) on his current site.
For example, he has:
and wants to add a SEO folder which will contain our services: www.example.com/prseo
the domain he purchased (as another example) is: www.prseo.com but wants to direct it to the folder he has set up @ example.com/prseo
Can anyone offer advise? Is this a good idea?

The reason I ask about the seo folder is because "seo" isn't usually something that's separate from any of the rest of your site--folders, or otherwise. Rather, it's something that is integrated into the site's words, pages and programming so as to not even identifiable as seo--just proper best practices.
When a site's services pages are optimized, for example, they end up being just plain ol' services pages--it's just that keywords have been properly researched and utilized, internal link anchor text has been researched and properly implemented, page titles and metadata have been thought out, etc. The same goes for the homepage and all the site's other pages.
You may already know all this and I'm being overly simplistic for you here. If so, my apologies, but I wasn't quite sure from your question what you were looking for.

And why doesn't the client want everything on one site? Just because of the "seo" folder? Can you be more detailed about what the differences will be between the content on the two domains/websites?

The only issue you will run into having multiple domains inside sub folders rather than having each one in it's own folder is in one instance. Say you suddenly decide to make www.example.com have a new article post or make a page prseo then since you have the folder occupied by another domain it will complicate things. But other than that you could install 50 domains in 1 folder if you really wanted to.
Not going to effect your SEO either.

WP URL issue - Concatenated URLs (LOTS of them)
WP is doing this somehow, and creating URLs for hundreds of pages that don't exist. HOW is this happening, and how do I stop It? I have many, many URLS like this: https://www.atouchofrust.com/terms-of-use/atouchofrust.com/vendor-news. Of note, atouchofrust.com/terms-of-use, and atouchofrust.com/vendor-news are both legit pages on the site. Why they are being concatenated is beyond my limited understanding of WP. Please, somebody, help. Cori

Is it a good idea to use an old domain name for a new product
Hi guys, I have a domain name XYZ.com which hosts the site of a technology service company as of now. The company however didn't do well and shut down a few years ago. Now, that company wants to launch a new set of technology products and wants to use the same domain name. Is it a good idea. The issues that I can see here are: 1. Google has previous pages indexed 2. There are a couple of subdomains totally irrelevant to the business. like employees.xyz.com there. 3. Can the previous indexing be completely undone. Canonical & rel=prev / next changes to website a good idea or not?
Hi all, I decided yesterday to make a load of changes to my website, and today i woke thinking, should i have done that! So below is an example of what i have done (i will try to explain clearly anyway), can you let me know if you think what i have done would harm or help my website in search results etc... ok, so lets take just one category - Cameras And it has the sub categories - box dome bullet it also has other sub categories (which are actually features, but the only way i can show them on my site is by having them as a sub-category with its own static page, and adding the products to these as secondary categories) vandal proof high resolution night vision previously i have it set up so that every single category / sub category / feature had its own static page, with a canonical tag to itself (i.e cameras.html canonical was to cameras.html, vandalproof.html canonical was to vandalproof.html). Any of the categories / sub cats / features that had more than one page were simply not in search results due to the canonical pointing to "Page 1"... What i have now done: Last night i decided to change all this, now for all categories / sub cats / features i have add rel=prev / next where applicable, and removed the canonical from second / third / fourth pages etc, but left the canonical on "page 1". I also removed any keywords from page 2,3,4 etc and changed descriptions to just page "X" + category name. So for example, page one looks like: and page two looks like: I also went a little further (maybe too far) and decided that the features pages would canonicalize back to cameras so for those i now have: Page 1: Page 2: Any advice is welcome on the above, in regards to which way may be better and why, and obviously if anything jumps out as a mistake... Changing a blog url from subdomain to subfolder
I am abou to change my company blog from a subdomain (blog.mydomain.com) to a subfolder (mydomain.com/blog), from suggestions from this awesome community! Not only that though, because the current blog is on another server than the main site I have to move my blog between servers as well. This will be a big hassle for me, and means a big risk for errors as I don't have a clue what I am doing on the development part. Hint: I'm no developer. My blog is fairly new, having posted 18 blog posts so far. There is no major linking to or from the blog as it has been basically no activity on the blog. It has been fairly good optimized for SEO, with custom plugin settings for Wordpress SEO plugin and similar. Also followed advice from Rand regarding wordpress SEO. So I guess my question is: Would it be a big loss for me to just start over with a new blog on the subfolder domain? And move content over from the old blog manually (and then deleting the old one). Or would It be plain stupid taking that route? Thankfull for all help I can get!
