Keyword research and relevancy
-
Hello,
I am wondering if it is ok to use a keyword that is in 950 position in the keyword list with a relevancy of 1 or it if it better to only use keywords with relevancy of 5 or 6 which are at the top of list ?
By the way there are some keyword that I found 3 weeks ago doing my keyword research that i don't find anymore in the list doing my keyword research, is it possible to that the list varies week after week ?
Thank you,
-
I will keep that in mind, thank you both for your answers.

I agree with what Andy stated, it goes along with the White Board Friday where you wouldn't make multitudes of pages to cover the span of different spelling or singular and plural keywords. Instead it's better to go in with a top key phrase in mind, a main focus query, and make the content really long and an end all in which answers the visitors questions.

Try not to focus too much on this, but are you planning on the keyword for a page title or something similar?
If it is just part of the content, as long as it explains what you are talking about, then you are all good.
If it is for a page title, then it needs to be something you want to rank for and that also explains the page well.

Hi,
Thank you that makes sense.
How about the fact that within a 3 weeks period the words found in the KE are slightly different is it normal ?
-
Hi,
I wouldn't worry about where they keywords are positioned - I would be looking at how relevant the keyword is to the page.
Google naturally looks for a range of keywords when evaluating a page, but of course, we don't know exactly what that formula is.
Keep everything natural and just use whatever words make sense to the article - and remember, write for your audience, not Google.

What is the best way to take advantage of this keyword?
Hi SEO's! I've been checking out webmaster tools (screenshot attached) and noticed that we're getting loads of long tail searches around a search query 'arterial and venous leg ulcers' - on a side note we're a nursing organisation so excuse the content of the search!!! The trouble is that google is indexing a PDF page which we give out as a freebie:

http://www.nursesfornurses.com.au/admin/uploads/5DifferencesBetweenVenousAndArterialLegUlcers1.pdf This PDF is a couple of years old and needs updating but its got a few links pointing to it. Ok so down to the nitty gritty, we've just launched a blog:
http://news.nursesfornurses.com.au/Nursing-news/ We have a whole wound care category in which this content belongs, and i'm trying to find the best way to take advantage of the search, so I was thinking: Create an article of about 1000 words Update the PDF and re-upload it to the main domain (not the sub domain news.nursesfornurses.com.au) Attach the PDF to the article on the blog OR would it be better to host this on the blog, and setup a 301 redirect to this page? I just need some advice on how best to take advantage of this opportunity, our blog isn't getting much search traffic at the moment (despite having 300+ articles!!) and i'm looking into how we can change that. I look forward to your response and suggestions. Thanks! qtY64B10 -
Google’s Hummingbird and Keyword Cannibalization
My client wants to have keywords added on every product with the product name , apparently some seo guru told him that hummingbird is all about key phrases and long tail keywords. As i know hummingbird lends to understand the intent and contextual meaning of the query. The issue is if I add the keywords on for e.g oak furniture on all of my product title,And we are using zen-cart platform and it will change the internal anchor text on the product listing page. It will cause a Cannibalization issue. Question1. I just need help to reply to client that adding keyword can cause detrimental to ranking. Question 2. If i am wrong then do we need to re optimise the site. I have read http://moz.com/blog/how-to-solve-keyword-cannibalization Many thanks.

When to write long content on a general informational keyword: Ecommerce
Hello, Say you sell barbecue grills. When would it be appropriate to write a "Complete guide to Barbecuing" that offers everything: background, recipes, statistics, products, etc? The barbecue niche actually is better suited for a complete guide than my client's niche. My client doesn't sell barbecue grills but he is in a niche that doesn't have hardly any traffic to specific information. He's thinking of writing an article about the most general keyword directly in his niche, "A Complete Guide to X". Right now his Ecommerce home page is on page 17 for this keyword, it's competitive, and last year G Analytics showed 700 page views while on page 17. It would cover a lot more information than the barbecue example with heavy authority as competition. The article would be about 4000 words. There's nothing that complete out there but, again, there's a few very authoritative sources to compete against that we'd never outrank. We'd try to make it best-of-the-web. We're looking to get natural backlinks. We might do outreach but a more specific guide might work better for outreach, which we're also writing. Should he do this as one of his 5 articles for the site?

Worth removing keywords...?
I was just going over a site I manage and noticed it had a load of meta keywords on it. Probably 10-15 keywords per page... Do you think this is harming the site? Is it worth removing them?

Optimize short tail keyword by optimizing long tail keyword
Many SEO's said that if i have a keyword suppose 'coat stand' that is very competitive and second keyword is 'cheap coat stand' that is less competitive .If we promote long tail keyword (cheap coat stand) than ranking of 'coat stand' will improve. Is it true?

Zero visits from keyword in Google Analytics
The keyword "business engagement in outsourcing" shows 0 visits. I have a look at Seomoz post at - http://www.seomoz.org/blog/advanced-google-analytics. According to it, "If someone makes more than one visit to a site within the same "session" and each visit comes from a search but on different keywords, then both keywords will be included in the keywords report - the first with 0 visits and the second with 1 visit" In my GA report, i could only see 0 visit for the above keyword. Why is 1 visit not being shown ? On reading the blog, http://webanalysis.blogspot.com/2008/04/google-analytics-tips-and-tricks-why-do.html#axzz1UPqhMV7o i am more confused, as it says "Google Analytics, assigns the visitors activity to the first keyword " . which is NOT what seomoz suggests
