That is usual on Google you need to build some trust when you have a new website/domain so usually google put new websites in a sandbox, So need to focus on creating social signals and brand name back-links just to build trust

Canonical Homepage Multi-language Website
Hello, Our development department is building a multi-language webshop.
On-Page Optimization | | X-com_Maasbree
Due to the multi-language module that they've used, we have example.com and example.com/nl having exactly the same content. In order to avoid duplicate content, those pages have the following canonicals:
1. example.com -> Canonical to example.com/nl
2. example.com/nl -> Canonical to example.com/nl Do I loose SEO-value by not canonicalising directly to the root-domain homepage (example.com)?0 -
Where does Google get its meta descriptions from?
We have a new client and they don't have meta descriptions yet. However, Google has assigned descriptions for them now appearing on the SERPs. The problem is that Google added a phone number that's totally not the client's and goes to a different unrelated business. Our plan is to update the meta to reflect the correct information, however, we're just perplexed as to how Google came up with the incorrect phone number. Where does it get its information from? The page currently has all the correct phone number, hours, and content. I've read that Google sometimes also doesn't recognise our meta descriptions if it thinks they could serve up a better one. My next question is, what if Google insists on showing the incorrect phone number. Is there a way we can fix this? Thanks!

URL for a new website
Hi, I am creating a new website for a client. Is it best to include the keywords from the most common search in the domain name, they would like: forenamesurname.com but should I be recommending: weddingmakeupbyforename.com Does it make much difference to search rankings if the keyword is in the domain name? Thanks v much

How do you handle different business locations for search?
Would like to get peoples suggestion on how you handle different business locations in different cities. We have tried multiple tactics for different clients. Some have worked better than others. Example: We have a window company that does great in Austin. Now they want to move into Dallas. In the past, we have created "landing pages" optimized for that locality. However, with Googles new updates I dont think this will work anymore. With others, we have added a "tab" and have similar pages of the entire site optimized for that location. This seems to have been working better. What are your suggestion of how you handle different locations from city to city. Any input is appreciated! Thanks! Charles

Building an optimised friendly website
We are in the process of having a new website built and was wondering what factors do we need do we need to instruct our web company to include, at the build phase, to ensure that we can easily optimise it for SEO purposes. They have designed us a previous site that has excessive duplicate URLs and they haven’t given us access to the code so we can’t add 301 redirects etc and would like to avoid this in the future. I look forward to hearing from you

Over Optimization - What exactly is it?
I keep hearing this term "over optimization" and people assuming they have received an over optimization penalty. I also hear people say, "You need to optimize every page on your site." So at what point does a site become "over optimized?" Are there any good reads around here that explain this better?
